Just wasnt to drop a line to bring done attention to the appalling, disrespectful and gross customer service of your Greensboro, NC location. I purchased a bike from performance in Charlotte because the guys in Greensboro wouldnt even consider ordering the bike I wanted. And were down right rude. I over looked it and returned to the Greensboro store. The service had been lack luster on every occasion. And today will be the last bit business this store EVER gets from me or the club I ride with. I purchased the package for tune-ups, flats and drive train cleaning when I purchased my bike. A buddy of mine dropped my bike, that I purchased from performance, off at the Greensboro, NC store to have a tune up done and address a chain issue I was having. While the technician did make a suggestion for the chain, he also informed my friend that my bike, that I purchased from performance, was JUNK!! And that his " wheels cost more than my bike". So, my question is why does performance sell bikes that are JUNK even by their own standards?? And what makes your employees think they have the right to speak to a customer like this!?!? You have forever lost my business. The Trek store right down the road has out preformed you in every way performance. You all should be ashamed off the caliber individuals you have in your Greensboro location. I would NOT recommend your stores to any one for ANY reason. I would have sent a private email to address this but given the treatment I got in store Im sure corporate doesnt give a damn!!

So, I got a great deal on my bike when I bought it here. There were a few helpful people and the staff wasnt high school kids, it was older men who did a lot of standing around and talking, but whatever. My issues really started when I took my bike in to get a quick tune up service after the break in period. From about the time I got it the front Disc brakes didnt really work. I dont know why, but their plan to fix it was simply to (re) install the brake pads. I took it in on Weds, it was due Thurs at 5. I called at 2 on Thurs to see if it might be ready early and was told that it wouldnt be. Well, the weekend got hectic, so I didnt get around to going to pick up my bike until the following Weds (so the 4th full business day after it was due). I was then told that it still wasnt ready because they didnt have the pad for the brake. But it was "supposed to be in in our shipment today"... Yeah, oh did I mention that they never called? I thought that was odd. So, I called on Thur (a full week after it was due) and was told that they still didnt have the pad and it was supposed to come in "today or tomorrow". Oh, and they will call me when its ready. What about if it is going to be delayed over the weekend again? Did they plan to let me know that as well? Very poor customer service. What can I say. If your car mechanic tried this, you would probably shoot him.

Ive been riding for 20 years and Ive been to literally hundreds of shops around the country. The performance bike in Greensboro NC houses the worst staff of any business Ive ever witnessed. The sales staff are comprised of nervous, unknowledgable high school and college students that know next to nothing about the sport. The store manager named Jack was standing at the register on the internet while I and seven other people were waiting to check out... I also needed to talk to a mechanic about my bottom bracket and he couldnt answer my question because he was taking in three other peoples bikes for repair by himself while installing parts at the same time. He answered my question clearly and was the only knowledgable person in the store. He was going to help me get my new Race Face bottom bracket and even put it in for me, but he had to get keys to get the part because they were locked up. It took him 10 minutes to get it because the store manager went to lunch while the store was completely packed of people and clearly understaffed. He then immediately called Cycles de Oro and secured another bottom bracket for me so I can get on with my ride. The only reason I have to come back to this store is for a bike repair in the future, and it definitely wont be on a weekend.

The establishment in Greensboro is terrible in comparison to the performance bike in my home town. I purchased two GT backwoods mtn bikes here for my wife and I (just to get back into mtn biking). The bikes are low end, but by purchasing them, the bike staff mustve automatically assumed that I was new to mtn biking (mind you I have close to 20 years under my belt). Shortly after running the bike through its paces, I had a deraillur hanger break. I took the bike in to get it repaired and the maintenance guy Tony, said the break was due to "operator error" and accused me of the amateurish mistake of cross chaining... unbelievable! A few weeks later we had to take my wifes bike in because the front shifter wasnt indicating properly. Some guy named Scott wouldnt offer to fix it but said the bike shifted fine. Then the maintenance guy said someone adjusted a screw in the rear deraillur that was "very bad" and insinuated that we made the adjustment (mind you the ONLY guys to make adjustments to the bikes were them). Needless to say, were done with the poor customer service at this shop and the audacity of the staff to repeatedly blame us for poor bike components. I suggest taking your business elsewhere instead of dealing with these arrogant amateurs.

I took my old (as in 1986 old) department store bike into the Greensboro store for some work a few years ago. When I came by to pick it up, the gentlemen who worked on it said (when I asked him a question about it) was, "The problem is its a cheap bike. As soon as you can get a new one you need to throw that one in the dumpster." I was so shocked by what he actually said that I couldnt even begin to formulate a response. When I asked how much for the repair, he said, "No charge" with an attitude like he couldnt believe he had to work on such a horrible piece of machinery and he wanted it out of there as fast as possible. I know it is a cheap bike. I know it is old. I know it would be nice to buy a new bike. However what he didnt know was that my cheap, old bike was a Christmas present from my parents, one of whom is now deceased. What he said may have been completely true, but it was downright rude, and horrible customer service. Reading these other reviews it is apparent that not much has changed. I will never buy a bike at Performance Bike as a result.

My wife just bought the Giant Avalanche 1.0 Womens model in a gorgeous Pearl with Green lettering for $650 and it has way better components than comparable bikes at all the other bike shops in town..plus we got 10%points when we did..this bike has hydraulic disc brakes, a rock shock tora with lockout and rebound and damping adjustments, shimano deore shifter group, wtb rims, kenda tires, and a nice wtb saddle. Two years ago i bought a Fuji Team Rival for just over $1300 with full carbon fiber C7 modulus frame and fork, Rival shifter group, shimano wh-500 rims, cane creek brakes(i replaced these with shimano dura ace that i bought here for $200 on closeout) (and got points!) ...look for great deals online(as a member) also as you can save extra money at lunchtime and they have high end components at unbelieveable prices sometimes....i hate to say it(because i go to all the bike shops in town) but you cannot beat their deals.......the only down side ive seen here is that they are understaffed at times but dont let that stop you..
