We purchased an elliptical from Play It Again Sports (Crossroads) and found the purchase experience to be quite good. In-store, the rep (who is also I believe the owner/manager?) was knowledgeable, helpful, and quite reassuring. We explained that we were putting the machine in a back bedroom off a narrow hallway, and he was confident he would have no problems getting it in place. Delivery day came and when he arrived and measured the entryway to the room, the machine did not fit. This was when he told us there would be $100 fee for disassembly and reassembly--to cover the additional time it would take. This was not mentioned at purchase. $100 seemed a bit steep--$125 total when you count the delivery fee. The same person who had sold us the machine delivered the machine, so he knew this was not mentioned at the point of sale. We said as much, and he offered to reduce the cost of the additional work to $40. I reiterated that, had we not talked about this potential difficulty at the time of purchase, we would be amenable to this. But we had asked! After a bit of further discussion, he agreed to do the disassembly and reassembly gratis. He came back the next day and the work was completed to our satisfaction in approximately 1 hour. The gentleman explained that they usually mention the installation conditions and the possibility of extra install fees at the time of sale, and apologized for neglecting to do so in this instance. He also said they would be including this detail in the paperwork in the future to make sure it was clear for customers. Without the issue of the "extra" install fee, this would have been a 5-star experience. However, we do appreciate the business owner/manager honoring his word and completing the work in a timely and competent fashion. Because of this, I can recommend purchasing exercise equipment from this store.

My girlfriend and I went here to pick up a pair of inline skates. The employee on-duty at the time showed us the "new" and "used" sections and left us to it. We picked up an awesome pair for a great price in the "used" section. They already had some wear on the back brake and the wheels were discolored, but the skates were overall lightly used. There is a sign by the register that states 14 days for returns in the same condition; this was also confirmed with the employee who rang us up. After a few days of wearing them, we realized they were too small (this brand tends to run a bit small from reviews online), so we went here to return them. When trying to return them, the employee (manager?) who was at the register informed us they were "new" and not "used" so that we couldnt return them, and strongly implied we exchange them for a different pair. When I let him know they were in the "used" section, he began to argue with me about new skates going into the used section after a set period of time, etc. After some more pushing from my part, he claimed he "wasnt going to argue with me" and went ahead and refunded them. I am giving two stars because he refunded us, but no more due to the experience. We will not be return customers... There are other Play It Again Sports in the area.

If I could rate this Play it Again Sports with zero stars I definitely would. The workers at this PIAS do not greet you when you walk in the store. This is especially prevalent from the younger guy with long hair who usually wears a hat, I am not sure of his name. The conversations they have at the counter are usually very unprofessional and not family-friendly. A lot of the time there is nobody at the counter to check you out which requires you to wait. And when somebody does check you out at the register, they act as if you interrupted their day and inconveniencing them. The store itself is filled from floor to ceiling with items and is somewhere to avoid if youre even the least bit claustrophobic. I would recommend going literally anywhere else for sporting goods over the Cary PIAS. Spend the extra $5 and purchase your goods across the street at Dicks. The PIAS in North Hills (Raleigh) is a much more professional environment and whose physical appearance does not cause anxiety.

Let me start by saying I am only interested in fitness equipment from play-it- again sports. Having said that, I have a lot of experience buying and selling new and used fitness equipment. This organization is a bit pricey at times. You have to go repeatedly because their stock changes often and in order to find what you want at the price you would like it is hit or miss. I will say that I marked them down a little bit because their staff has never once offered to help me in the over 12 times Ive been to the store. They have a massive amount of inventory almost to the point of overwhelming if you were looking for something its a good place to try.

I gave them a 3 because I can always find the hockey gear my kids are looking for a good price. However, the guy with the short hair and ballcap - maybe late 30s early 40s who I think is the manager? This guy is a know-it-all and treats you like youre stupid. Every time I go there he tries to tell me why I dont know anything and all other stores and people dont know anything. He continues to say "I played hockey in college" and "I played baseball in college" Who cares! It doesnt make you the authority on all sporting equipment! Its annoying sell me the equipment and shut your mouth.

Got a great deal on lacrosse cleats here. The Best Play It Again Sports I have ever seen, very well organized and has a wide variety of selection. I would definitely recommend going here if you need gear for the sports that you play. Once again a great store and worth going back. I will not be going to any other play it agains except this one!

Terrible service, the employees dont ever help, i asked for help they said they would come over in a minute. They just sat there talking to eachother and laughing, THEY NEVER CAME OVER TO HELP. I asked a second time and he started to get angry with me so i left. Worst "business" i have ever been in. PLEASE FIRE THESE WORKERS!!!

Been to this location twice since I live in the Triad and there is a limited selection in Greensboro. Found a pair of CCM U+08 skates for $169.99!!! Went back in need of some elbow pads and found some Easton Stealth S19s for $25! ($99 new). You have to do some digging, but this place can be a gold mine if you have patience :-)

Wow! This place has tons of used hockey equipment and as far as I can see has done a great job vetting incoming items. I picked up some kids 1-4 skates here for only $20 and they are in clean condition with plenty of wear to go. This is a gem of sports equipment in Crossroads.
