I dont know why everybody seems to be so negative about Cary Auto sales, I found them great to deal with. Based on all the negative comments on this site I almost didnt go to them but I am so glad I did!!!!!! Not only do you get to walk around and see the cars without any pushy salesman coming to annoy you,you also get to test drive the car by yourself so again no pushy salesman telling you how great the car is. I test drove 5 cars that day and there was never any pressure to buy but I did end up buying a Golf from them. I took it first to my mechanic and he gave it a once over and noticed a few things that needed fixing, CAS did these for me and also knocked a couple of hundred dollars off the price. Then I took it home and drove it for a couple of days and the check engine light came on, I had planned to take it to my mechanic to check out (after all I bought the car as is) but when I was talking to Caroline that morning she sent some guys over to take car of it for me, free of charge. Bottom line if you are buying a used car youd be crazy not to get it checked out first, and as for all these "small accidents" or "history" in fairness if the previous owner hasnt told them of a problem then you cant blame them for not knowing, theyre car sales men not psychics. My previous car kept stalling when I was driving, 3 mechanics couldnt find out why and it didnt do it anytime they had it in the garage, when I sold it I told the garage about the problem and they are going to investigate it, but my point is if I didnt tell them then they wouldnt know to look for it during a regular servicing. I dealt with 3 different people on site, Caroline is lovely, very friendly and helpful, Alan was funny and friendly and Hassan was also friendly and polite and they 2 guys they sent to fix my car were also lovely so I dont get why they are getting slated for their customer service. I loved everything about my dealings with Cary Auto Sales and for my next car they will be the first place I visit, and hopefully buy from. So like I said dont take other peoples word for it, go check them out and make up your own mind.

These people are charlitans. Unfortunately, they embody the very essence of the “used car dealer” image: slimy, underhanded, cheaters. I spent weeks researching cars online to find a car at the correct pricepoint and mileage for my needs. I narrowed down the list of potential dealerships to a small handful, including Cary Auto Sale, Inc. (which is their legal name, check it out on the NC Secretary of State website). I found a 2010 Mazda 3i for sale and wanted to check it out. It had high miles, but otherwise it looked fine and the free Carfax report said no accidents! The salesman said I could drive the car home that night if I wanted to purchase it! I didn’t even need to have the money right then, all I needed was the approval paperwork from the bank and I’d be set. Being a wise consumer, I refused to actually purchase the vehicle until I had my own mechanic check it out. The next day, I drove the car down the road to my mechanic who needed only 30 minutes to determine that I was about to be had! He said the car had frame damage and floor damage. Upon visual inspection, he could tell that the car had been hit very hard on the right side and the repair work was done poorly. There was cupping on the back tires and they needed to be replaced. There was also a NAIL in one of the tires. A nail! The mechanic told me walk away from this car because it was not worth it. He was able to determine this just from looking at the car on the lift, something a responsible car dealer does to each and every vehicle that he buys at auction. And something the dealer must have done because he OWNS Cary Auto Inspection & Repair, Inc. (The Secretary of State website is so useful). Yet Cary Auto Sale was prepared to let me walk off the lot with a $9,000 piece of crap that no self-respecting salesman would want his name associated with. So, lesson #1, don’t shop at Cary Auto Sale because they are liars. Lesson #2, don’t shop at Hanna Imports or Raleigh Pre-Owned either because the same person owns those lots as well. Lesson #3, don’t always trust Carfax!!

I wish I could give less than one star, but it wont let me!! I Found a car at Cary Auto Sales, online and called about it. There was a small dent that showed up in one of the pictures. I asked Sam, the salesman, if there were any other dents on the car. He said, let me go check. As he walked around the car, he was telling me how good of a car this Ford Escape was. He assured me there were no other dents in the car and I was getting a GREAT DEAL!! I loaded up my family and drove five hours, from Northern Virginia, with a check from my bank, to buy the car. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, near the Escape, I could see other dents, dings, scratches and what looked like hail damage covering the roof. The drivers door had no stop on the hinge and it opened all the way around, until the door was stopped as it smashes into the side. The front bumper cover was completely held on by several blue wire ties. When we started the Escape, it revved up and stayed at a high RPM, until it ran about 30 seconds. Non of the dash lights worked. There was no was to tell what radio station you were tuned too, because those lights didnt work either. We opened the hood to try and see what was causing the whining noise, and we discovered there was no hood bar to hold the hood up.. I checked the oil and the dip stick showed low oil and very black oil, that looked like it had never been changed! We took it on a short test ride and, lets just say, my riding mower runs better, smoother and probably faster!! When we got back, I asked him why he lied to me about the condition of the car and he just said "Its a used car, its not perfect!" I said, there are lots of used cars, and I know they are not new and dont expect them to be new, but I do expect the salesman to at least be honest when they describe a car to a potential customer, especially when he knew I was driving five hours to get to his lot!!! Stay away from this place or be ready to be lied too!! GRB U.S. Army Retired

hmmm....I think one star might be flattering for this place. I went against my better judgement and ignored all the reviews. We went to look at a very nice looking 2005 Town and Country that we had seen on their website. The pictures and the price looked too good to be true so we decided to ignore all the negative reviews and just hope for the best! This is a very small dealership, extremely run down, and very unprofessional staff...but we could have looked past all that to get a good deal. At first glance the van looked decent even though it had a few ext. scratches and bad places on the leather inside. We could tell they didnt spend much if any time detailing the vehicles, but again thats a minor issue that could be overlooked if they had quality cars. One of the power sliding doors didnt work but we were still interested because of the incredible price. We took it to a local mechanic who inspected it and wanted to know what kind of dealer would try to sell a vehicle in this shape! It amazed me because I really couldnt tell there were any major issues with it. It turns out it needed a new alternator , new shocks, new tires, the Tire Pressure Monitoring system needed replaced in each tire, the locks on the car didnt work (I couldnt imagine not being able to unlock my vehicle but I never thought to test it) The mechanic said that alone could be a very expensive repair depending on the cause. He was shocked someone would sell it without disclosing what was wrong with it. Instead they said it just had normal wear and tear - yeah right! I would highly recommend not even wasting time with this place. There is a reason they have received these reviews. I cant imagine why anyone would give this place a 4 or 5 star - unless it was the dealer!! It is a very deceptive and underhanded place. If you still insist on going - get an inspection on any vehicle before buying it!!! You cannot trust what they say unfortunately.
