Sales person Brenda made it a point to demonstrate how sturdy the dresser was by pounding her hand on the bottom of the drawer. Kept telling us it was solid furniture, made of wood and in the USA. She bragged about being an 11-year furniture sales person with York. After the typical go around we bought the furniture. What they delivered to us was a mediocre plywood and particleboard bedroom set with stickers everywhere claiming "MADE IN CHINA". We call that very day and asked why the stickers said made in China. Her explanation was she made a mistake and it was busy.... It was not busy. We were her only customers and we had to ask her to leave us alone for a few minutes so we could discuss purchasing the furniture. Plus an 11-year furniture sales person who knows this line of furniture we bought does not make that kind of mistake. Her manager, Larry, also stated the furniture was made in the USA. Both lied and both continue to lie. So the furniture has so many flaws on every piece of furniture. Some drawers do not work; there are chips in the nightstands, rough finish and glue that was painted over. Per Larry he would replace it all. We want out money back but they are giving us a hard time and not working with us to fix the problems. They did send out an independent furniture guy who told us the furniture was plywood and particleboard. He fixed the chipped wood by coloring it in with one of those wood pencils. Really, whom did he think he was fooling? Then he used steel wool to get rid of some of the rough surface. Still we are trying to get the other items fixed. Still giving us the run around They promised to call back and they rarely do. They gave us an option of ordering a new piece to replace the defective furniture but stated that could also come in full of defects. So basically they sell JUNK and the brand in question is LEGACY CLASSIC FURNITURE. They will say whatever to make a sale and then not stand behind the junk they sell.

Two months ago, my Fiance and I walked into York and found the perfect sectional at a more than reasonable price. We ordered it!! It took a month for our shipment to arrive at the warehouse. I did have to call them to set up delivery, no big deal they have allot of orders to keep up with. Upon delivery, the biggest piece of our sectional would not fit around our hallway. It was beyond disappointing, the delivery guys tried just about everything to get it in. They packed it back up and we kept the other pieces. We returned to York that night to see what ouu options were. Tony the manager was their every step of the way to make this better. He knew we really wanted this piece, so he contacted their upholstery guy to see if he could take off the arm. Great news the arm could be taken off, although they were positive it still would not fit. It was our choice to try it out, if it did not work we would be stuck with a piece that would not fit. They had another option, go with the chaise, not exactly what we were looking for. Yet again disappointed. Tony took us into the warehouse, to show us the chaise that would go with the sectional, it was nice. Not what I had wanted but I could not imagine still going with the largest piece for it not to workout. We went with the chaise. It will take a month to arrive at the warehouse. We did not blame anyone for this incident, we measured what we believed is all we needed to measure. Everything takes time, and you cant rush these things. Everyone in the store was supportive, beyond helpful. Even though we did not get the exact piece we were looking for were still happy with the way we were treated. We purchased a bedroom set late November and was told it would be delivered before Christmas, it wasnt...when I called to see when to expect it I was talked to like you wouldnt even talk to a criminal really! The second time I called I got the same tone, this time I didnt take it and asked how they felt justified in talking to a customer that way..... When the set finally showed up in February I found the delivery guys were good. Ive mentioned the condescending rude tone I got at the store after purchase to others, they said the same happened to them. I have since been made aware of a sales person who quit because of the of this problem! On top of that the set had visible damaged but they still delivered it expecting to walk away and leave it, it also had manufacturing flaws in the wood that you would expect form a seconds store. They did send a good repairman who replaced 3 draws and had to repair other flaws...by the time he got the parts delivered and returned another had cracked just sitting there and additional parts had to be ordered, three visits in all after delivery and 4 draws. The set we ordered in November was finalized in July, even then repairs that were made you wouldnt expect on new furniture...no compensation offered. They wore us out!! Terrible terrible experience, never again York or is it YUK!

Like Im reading in many other reviews this place is horrible, never shop in this store!! I went into the store with my daughter, a new homeowner. We are going through a family tragedy and not on our A game. The sales person was very pushy and wanted the sale, she claimed that she was a designer helping at a busy time. We bought a sofa and chair but still not sure it would be a good fit, our "designer" told us that we could purchase and go home to measure and cancel if we needed. We went home and realized it would not fit, called the store in the morning and were told that all sales were final, they would not cancel or refund the money. I called the store to speak with our sales person/designer and was told she wasnt working, I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were with a customer, I left my number and was assured that they would call back within a hour. After waiting for 5 hours we went back to the store and spoke to a older kind gentleman that claimed he was a manager, only to find he had fangs and was as dishonest as the rest of the employees. My favorite line of his was "we dont have to tell you that all sales are final" while pointing to a small sign on the counter!!!

My girlfriend and I had been looking for weeks for the perfect piece of furniture for our apartment, and we had been to nearly every store in Rochester and came back disappointed every time. We eventually stopped into York Furniture and were pleasantly surprised at how different the selection was from the other 6 to 7 stores we had been to previously. To me, however, the customer service stood out the most. Our salesman was Tony, and he did a phenomenal job finding us the piece of furniture WE wanted, not what THEY wanted to sell us. We found a perfect sectional, but unfortunately I hadnt anticipated our apartment doorway to be too small to fit. No one was to blame but ourselves, but we were still disappointed. We came back to York that same day and Tony worked with us to find something else. He understood our disappointment and went in the back several times and tried to figure out how to get other pieces of furniture to a similar price. We eventually found one we liked and were able to get it that same day! Overall excellent experience and customer service, I would absolutely recommend York to anyone because of their selection and their outstanding customer service. Thanks Tony!!
