Susan Deborah is a beautiful shop that instantly gave me the feeling I was looking for when gown shopping- I wanted the experience to be calm, special, and feel like it had a purpose. At this shop you dont sift through racks randomly- Chella takes you through the different styles available in your price range and that would fit your body type. I know others have complained about the relatively minor limitations she maintains, but she is so knowledgable about her dresses and body types, and is truly an expert- my first point- and really knows what shes doing. There is a purpose behind the structure. I went to so many stores that put me in dress after dress, never admitting that they just didnt have what I was looking for. Which brings me to me second point: She wont waste your time. I came in with really only ideas of things I didnt want, and she pulled only three dresses for me (yes, only three) including a dress that I initially crossed off the list. As I had been to 8 other stores in the Buffalo area, I decided to still give it a shot. When I put it on, before I looked in the mirror she said, "this is your dress"- and she was right! I was there less than 30 minutes and I had already found my dress, after all of that other searching- all because of the expertise she brought to the table. To address some of the other comments: You get structure in your appointment and someone that will give you an honest- expert opinion. Which, yes is different than most people are used to, but is really to your benefit. This means that she doesnt say that you look amazing in every dress you put on- which is the truth (!), which makes you not waste your time and money, which means you dont get a mediocre dress, and would make THE dress less special if it really was true. You get an individualized appointment with wonderful, attentive service (one bride at a time, with at least one other helper in addition to herself), structured around her experience in this field and high quality gowns. I cannot say enough good things about her, and the other staff, and would highly recommend this shop to any bride who is looking for a special experience and a very special, upscale gown. You get what you pay for, which is high quality gowns and service. I have recommended this shop to so many of my friends- all of whom have purchased their dresses from her as well, and have loved not only their gowns, but the experience as well.

Over the weekend on a spur of the moment visit I decided to stop by Susan Deborah, I did call a few hours before and asked if it would be alright. The staff and owner were very accomodating and helpful. I had walked into the shop with an exact idea of what I thought I wanted, tried dress on and the owner said it was a beautiful dress on me but that it was not meant for a winter wedding. As a bride I have learned to appreciate others opinions, especially those that are in the bridal buisness, they are clearly successful for a reason. The owner than brought me a dress she had in mind and stated that it would be a little out of my budget (which is fine). I put the dress on and finally after weeks for searching and not finding the "one" dress, I did! The lady who runs the shop is foreign and opinionated but in a great way!!! She is not going to tell you that something looks good if it does not, or if she feels that it may be the wrong style or that there may be a better option out there. Some may take this as pushy or rude, but I did not. I thought they were helpful and honest, which some brides may not be able to handle. I love my dress and could not be more happy that I decided to give Susan Deborah a shot, I have to admit after reading all these horrible reviews I was very scared. But as soon as I walked in I knew I liked the shop and the staff, it was quick and painless and they knew what I was looking for and made great suggestions. Yes they are pricey, but for a such a great dress it was worth every penny. Thank you Chella!!

Within a minute of walking into this store, I wanted to leave. The woman (not even sure of her name because she didnt even introduce herself - she has a accent) asked my price range, I told her I would like to spend around $2000. She immediately said "we dont even carry dresses for that amount of money". I said ohh ok and she walked away & took a delivery. My bridesmaid looked at the gown that was in plastic - the woman then said " Do not touch our dresses" I was completely shocked so I said alright, lets go! My mother & mother in law were angry and said it felt like that scene in pretty woman. I wanted to leave so it didnt put a damper on my day - I went to Julianas down the street and Andrea was able to take me, without an appointment immediately. Andrea was amazing! So helpful and willing to work with me. I would never suggest even stepping foot in this snobby bridal shop. I mean, my budget for a dress isnt the biggest but the economy is horrible, who isnt trying to save where they can?! If you have a bigger budget than I do, save yourself the hassle and go to Kleinfields or NY Bridal in Syracuse where you would be treated with respect. I highly suggest Julianas! Amazing gowns!

This salon is wonderful. Many have been saying negative things about rudeness and such, but that is only because Chella is honest and cares about how the brides look. This salon is great for those who are looking to spend a good, not so little amount on their dress. I payed $6500 for mine and the starting price is about $3500 to $4000 for their salon. This is only because they carry the high end designers you would find in kleinfeld such as Lazaro, Hailey Page, etc. I came there looking for a lazaro dress. As soon as i said Lazaro and ballgown, Chella pulled three dresses for me. They were not what i was looking for but she insisted. Thank goodness she did! The first dress was amazing and after trying the others on and going to other salons i knew it was the one! She is always honest and will tell you if something looks funny or weird, she does hold back her opinion, so you learn to accept the honesty, she only wants the best. The salon is nice and privately owned which i love! I left with the dress of my dreams and the wedding veils are also beautiful! This salon may be pricey for some, so if your looking for something cheaper then it might not be the place for you.

For the past few months I had been looking at dresses online and in magazines, most which were particular designers. I was so happy when I found Susan Deborah bridal because it is the only store in Rochester that carried the designers I was interested in. The owner was very professional and helpful. She listened to all of my requirements and helped me find a dress that fit around my budget, which was around $3,000. After trying on only 2 dresses I found the one!! Thanks to the owner I was able to find a dress that was EXACTLY what I wanted for a amazing price! She did not pressure me into purchasing a dress and she let me wear it around the store for as long as I liked. She also said I could come back and visit the dress whenever I liked. She was very straightforward and to the point, which I like in a sales person. I recommend this store if you have done your research and are willing to take advice from the owner because she knows what she is talking about.
