I went to Mellow Madness last year after being sent there by a friend. I had high hopes for my tattooer, but unfortunately I was left very disappointed. We discussed the piece I wanted and he agreed that it was something he was interested in doing. He didnt have any openings close, so we scheduled a month out. I gave him my references of things I liked and images to go off of and we set the date; he told me he would let me know the time. A week before my appt I contacted my tattooer to ask how the design was going and if I could come in to see it. I wanted to make sure both I liked it and that hed have time to make corrections if there needed to be any. He told me that he didnt have anything yet and that he was thinking of freehanding it. I asked him if he has any ideas to try to see what he was thinking, he just told me hed have to just draw it on to show me.. The next week, I contacted him the day of my appointment to find out what time he wanted me to come in. He never responded back to me with a time, and never follwed up afterwards. I didnt reach back out after that and I wont be going back to the shop. I dont know how the other tattooers rate but this experience was bad enough to turn me off from the shop as a whole.

I went here for my first tattoo because I heard they use vegan ink. I had a very simple tattoo, and it turned out clean, but my entire experience was miserable. The entire time I was there the guy doing the tattoo gave me the feeling that he was annoyed that I was taking up his time. Not to mention that had the tv on and was paying more attention to what ever zombie killing movie was on than the tattoo he was doing. At the end of the half hr it took to finish, I decided I wasnt sure I wanted it colored in or not. He told me if I paid for the tattoo, and have him an extra 30$ he wouldnt charge me the minimum next time. I did that and a few weeks after it healed I decided I did want it finished. I have called multiple times over the past few months with no reply. I have talked to other people who work at the shop, but they all have been no help. The tattoo its self turned out good, but I wouldnt at all recommend the people, the crowded shop, or the experience to anyone.

I came to Mellow Madness after several less than satisfactory experiences at other tattoo shops. I honestly can say that I think this is the best tattoo parlor in Rochester and I intend to return here for all of my future tattoos. My artist was Dave Yager, who drew up a beautiful custom piece for me. I had him do this one large full color piece, plus three smaller, simpler pieces, and one touch up on a tattoo poorly done by someone else. He worked on my for 8+ hours in one day to get these five tattoos done and was extremely considerate and patient and professional the whole time. He made me feel very comfortable and all of the tattoos he did turned out absolutely amazing. I would definitely suggest going to this shop if you are in the Rochester area, its clean, the prices are fair, and the artists are amazing professional. Ask for Dave Yager if you want something truly amazing, I could not be more impressed with his work.

I came into mellow madness after speaking with a mutual friend who was having some touch up work done up and was really impressed with everything and knew I wanted to finish up my sleeve. I spoke with chuck and told him my idea and let him run with it. He took my idea and went with it a way I wasnt expecting but was so much better then I could have ever thought of on my own. His art style is amazing and his technique is perfect. I tell anyone looking for tattoos to come in and talk to him, as he can take your idea and really turn it into something you love. The atmosphere of the shop is really relax and the location is perfect as there are lots of local eateries around while you wait for your appointment.

If anyones looking to get a tattoo done the right way checkout Mello madness you cant go wrong this isnt some random review just to get people to come get tattoos done I have had about three Tats done and Im working on a full sleeve right now by Mike and its looking great so far the other tats I had done was by Andy hes a beast trust me if your thinking about getting any work done come by and take a look at my tattoo youll be crazy to go anywhere else .This isnt a shot at the tattoo parlor on park Ave but thanks for being who you are I wouldnt have never found this shop if uh guys wasnt so rude the day me and my wife walked in the door so again thank you very much for being the people you are...

I have been going to Mellow Madness for my tattoos for over a year now, I always work with Andy, who actually did one of my very first tattoos many years ago. Not only is the shop very clean, artists talented and creative, but the entire experience is very relaxed and professional. For me it is very important to be able to communicate with the artist and throw ideas out to them that I cannot put on paper myself, Andy certainly exceeds my expectations with every piece he has done for me. I highly recommend Mellow Madness for anyone looking for an excellent tattoo experience. 5 stars

Great environment, great experience. You can really tell the artists get along, have a good time and truly enjoy what they do. Ive had work done at a few shops around Rochester and I have to say this was probably the best. Dave did an amazing job working with my design and working around my existing artwork. We had great conversation during the session, which adds to the experience. My new tattoo looks great and I will for sure be back. I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone, whether its your first or fiftieth tattoo. Thanks again guys!!

If your searching for the right professional shop to get ink DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! My boyfriend and I ( 7 yrs. N 2 kids) got matching tattoos (beauty & beast) on our left forearm done by WOODY. His art work is fanaminal (steady hand!!) n we both left very happy. It was tattoo #5 for me and first tattoo for my boyfriend. I also felt like I could trust anyone in this shop to get anyother tattoos done further along THEY ARE ALL SO TALENTED N REALLY KNOW THERE STUFF. Highly recommend. Awesome Job, will be back

I have ~10 tattoos, the latter half are all from Mellow Madness. The artists are professional, skilled and laid back. Cant go wrong with any of these guys. Its not just the excellent work that makes this shop stand out, its the whole atmosphere. My personal recommendation is to Woody who has done my last 3- top notch ink. Whether youre looking for a large, multi-session piece or a subtle 1 sitting tattoo, do yourself a favor and go to Mellow Madness!
