This is one of the best garden centers I have ever visted. I am a bit perplexed that anyone would give this place a bad rating. Almost smacks a little bit of a competitor that is trying to make this place look bad. How can you have two one star ratings and all the rest are five star? This place is always neat and organized. You could almost eat off the floor. In many cases they have a better selection on items than the big box stores do. Just go down the irrigation aisle and you will see what I mean. They have bar none the best price for bird seed anywhere on Long Island and believe me I have been just about everywhere. Tommy Sr is still around at Dees but it is the next generation of Dees that are running the nursery now and they are some of the nicest and most helpful people that I know. They really do care that their customers are happy. I have done some price comparisons to not only the large box stores but also to the other garden centers in the area. On items that you can directly compare they are just about the same as the box store and in many cases significantly less expensive than other garden centers in the area. The big difference that I see with Dees is they carry a better qualtiy of product than the box stores which is what you would expect from a quality garden center. If I could give this garden center 10 stars I would do it!

The harassment continues..... the owner of the family establishment called our business threatening us to remove our post which was an honest representation of what we experienced as we ATTEMPTED to shop. As for established business owners, it is our responsibility to serve the community with respect and integrity this saddens us that our neighbors felt it necessary to attack our reputation and evade the fact that we have been loyal customers, spending thousands of dollars in their store over the years. We find their actions ironic since they are reflecting of how we were treated, we will no longer engage or perpetuate this harassment. We wish all of our friends, loyal customers, and even our "distressed" neighbors a very happy holiday!!!

BEST nursery for wedding flowers!! My wife and I were recently married and went to Dees for our wedding flowers. We shopped around and Dees had the best combination of flexibility, price and attention to detail of any of the florists that we visited. Gigi, Frank and the rest of the staff were extremely courteous and professional...and the artistry of the centerpieces they put together (while staying within our budget) completely blew us away! Our guests were actually fighting over them at the end of the wedding (and were still getting compliments!). Thanks Dees...youll be seeing us again!! (and my sister soon as well, whos wedding is coming up!)

So I go to Dees planning to look at their firepits and chimeneas. As I walk into the store I see there is something on the floor, then I look closer and I notice a nasty stench. Its Dog poop. On the showroom floor of a huge store like Dees, inside on their nice floors in front of merchandise, was Dog poop. Not only that, but I unknowingly stepped in it. What kind of store is ok with having their dog poop in the middle of the floor, how is someone supposed to buy something when they are stepping in dog poop. I let an employee know, then I stomped and scraped my shoe around the whole store for 10 minutes, then went back, and it was still there.

I ALWAYS go there for any needs plant, or garden related, staff are friendly people and will help you with most anything. Their store is HUGE and has almost everything you could need. And also during October, and most of Fall they have a Haunted House, and Halloween decorations up everywhere which is a really nice touch. Although, the last time I went to buy something, it took a while for us to get it, but its ok, and I understand because the product was all the way in the back of the facility and there were many people there looking for Christmas trees, and it was packed. I entirely recommend this place for anything you may need for your garden

My experience at DEES was EXTREMELY HORRIBLE!!!! ... also my friend and I were confronted as if we were children and verbally abused to put things back in order like we work there.. they are very inconsiderate, arrogant people I would never recommend this nursery to others... they act as if they are the only nursery around... to be treated as such makes me wonder how they treat others & employees... they do not deserve customers hard earned money... I definitely would not recommend anyone to this nursery not now not ever....!!!!! Thank you three new responses in ten minutes at least i now know the name of the brother Joe who harassed us!

Went to Dees Nursery today after hearing amazing recommendations. Joe the owner personally came out to help us choose Leyland Cypresses for our backyard. This was a big investment so we were very apprehensive. Joe took the time to explain everything from how to choose the best trees, to planting and caring for them. All the employees we dealt with at Dees were very knowledgeable and helpful. The prices and quality of the trees were much better than other nurseries we visited. We will definitely be back to complete our backyard project!

I have been a customer at Dees Nursery for over 20 years. Top notch service and the highest quality for all your home and garden needs. Joe and his staff have always gone the extra mile when it comes customer satisfaction. They are truly a family owned business that has supported the surrounding community for years. Dont forget about the wonderful work they do supporting our Troops with the Annual Trees for Troops Campaign. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

I have been going to Dees for over 20 years. It is hands down the best Nursery and Garden Center on Long Island. Their selection, products, livestock quality and knowledge is second to none. Joe and his staff are fantastic when it comes to customer service and the variety of different family events that you will experience at Dees. No matter what the season I always find myself going back to Dees to for all my shopping needs!!!

I have been loving Dees nursery for 35+ years. The help is not rude at all! While many items are pricey, the old saying holds true. You get what you pay for. The merchandise is ALWAYS top quality. If you want cheap bushes, flowers etc, go to the large places that sell 8000 things and get inferior quality! If Dees starts selling mattresses, tires, toilets and large quantites of candy, I know it is time to look elsewhere!

The garden center is a true "diamond in the ruff". I had questions about feeding my lawn and their knowledgeable staff answered all of them! Maybe Im old fasioned, but I just cant find that kind of service anymore. I also saw that they were having a fall event for local school children. You can tell Dees really gives back to their community! From now on, if I need a garden product, Im going to Dees!
