Make My Cake is a cute as can be bakery that Im totally in love with at the moment. Come in and take a seat (if you can stand being surrounded by the smell of baked goods and sugar for hours) and enjoy the yummy red velvet. So, cupcakes are a huge trend right now. Im suspicious of anything trendy and this cupcake business is no exception. People, they are cupcakes! Just stop obsessing. I appreciate a shop that isnt all cupcakes all the time. Sometimes I want a real cake in slice form. You can get that here. Im in love with the Red Velvet just like most everyone else. I also have to give props to the icing. One of the reasons this whole cupcake thing annoys me is that bakeries often top their cupcakes with mounds and mounds of disgusting icing. That overly-sugary, bland, no taste but fructose bullpucky was yummy when I was 7. Im now an adult and Id like some real flavor. And I dont mean green. At Make My Cake, they have real icing. Not too sweet, great flavor, great texture (you can usually tell bad icing cuz it has the consistency of sugar crystals), and perfectly compliments the cake. Yum. The owner is really sweet and invited my friend and I to come back and chill in the shop on our next writing date. I dont know if thats a good idea for me. I might end up eating 3 slices of cake an hour. But she was really nice and I may have to try at least once.

The cakes are delicious!!!! HOWEVER..... Ordered an engagement party cake. First off the cake was $400. The cake was ordered a month in advance. The day of me picking up the cake I waited an hour because the cake wasnt finished. The cake came out with the owner who then explained that there wasnt enough fondant to finish the cake so thats what the hold up was about. She apologized and told me to just take the cake for the deposit I left which was $200. When I took the cake out of the box....after getting a $115 ticket waiting for the cake, it was breaking where there wasnt enough fondant. I had to use skewers to hold the cake together. There should be no reason that a cake ordered a month in advance is in need of anything. I have gone back and purchased other cakes. If I need a cake for 5 I will tell them 3 just so I know theres no wait. I just dont trust them for anything more important than a small function cake. They would be and were my LAST choice for a wedding cake.

I am a longtime resident but have never been to MMC. I went in this afternoon looking for Easter cookies to put in my niece and nephews baskets. The young woman behind the counter snapped at me telling me that they did not sell food there. There was no greeting or offer to help. I told her I was not looking for food but I would like Easter cookies after I spied a few decroated cookies in the display case. She very abruptly replied they wouldnt have Easter cookies until next week. I stated that next week is after Easter, she exclaimed next week was Sunday! Therefore I must assume MMC is going to be open on Easter Sunday so I can purchase my cookies on that day only. One of these days I hope to be able to try MMC but if the service doesnt improve it may be a long time coming.

IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE NO STARS I WOULD ! THIS PLACE IS UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, & DISGUSTING. I CALLED TO GET INFO IF THIS PLACE WAS LOCATED NEAR THE HUDSON RIVER CAFE BECAUSE I WAS THROWING AN EVENT THERE. THE MAN I SPOKE TO SAID WE ARENT ANYWHERE NEAR THERE. I THEN MAP QUESTED IT. MAPQUEST SAID IT WAS 5 MINUTES FROM THERE. I CALLED THE GUY BACK WHEN HE WAS CORRECTED HE HUNG UP ON ME...WHEN I CALLED BACK THE MANAGER REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HER STAFF IS RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL AND COMPLETELY BRUSHED ME OFF AND STATED "ANYWAY WHEN IS YOUR EVENT?" I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT ! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING AND THERE SERVICE IS TRASH !

Just bought a hello kitty cake for my 3 yr old daughter last week. It was a red velvet cake and tasted great. Not sure what reviewers meant by rude employees but the employees were very helpful and courteous. I dont see prices mentioned anywhere so Ill give an idea that 8" cake starts from $35 and red velvet is $50. Any customizations on top are an extra $35. So, my cake came to around $85 which wasnt too bad as it tasted good and my kids liked it.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee before going to the dog park. Delicious coffee not too sweet. I bought a pistachio muffin that was so moist and full of flavor. My boyfriend ordered a coffee and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was so good! Tasted fresh, so gooey and mouth watering. Def coming back!

The French Toast muffin is disrespectful. It raped my tastebuds and made them beg for more. Omg... the most delicious thing I have EVER put in my mouth (pause). That young counter clerk recommended it and told me it was best heated up. Omgggg. She was spot on. I will DEFINITELY be back.

When you are on your way to Make My Cake, you can smell the butter as you hit the block. They have big slices of delicious cake, though they make cupcakes as well. The chocolate cake with chocolate icing gets a big thumbs up as well as their chocolate cake with butter cream!

As someone who usually scrapes thick frostings off cakes or cupcakes - these airy and fluffy cakes from Make My Cake are everything. Very familiar texture among-st many asian cakes. The cake is spongey and what stands out is the light whipped cream fillings nail each flavor.

Myfiance and I just booked them for our wedding in may, we had a cake tasting a couple dAys ago,and I have say this was hands down the best vanilla butter cream cake I ever had in my life. I know cAke, I life for cake..try it.

Horrible! They use to be very good. Must be new owners. I bought 2 cupcakes and they were stale! I felt like i was eating a week old cupcake.
