Greenwich Jewelers is a small jewelry boutique located in the financial district in lower Manhattan. The company is a second generation diamond boutique that is operated by Christina and Jennifer Gandia. The team at Jeweler Maps recently secretly shopped Greenwich Jewelers. Greenwich Jeweler is located at 64 Trinity Place in FIDI. The storefront is easily recognizable and looks inviting.. The light color scheme, decor and arrangement of bridal and fashion jewelry in the window conveys a sense of warmth and femininity. I made my way through the door quite quickly as it was a cold and rainy January day. Weekdays are ideal for jewelry shopping because they are less busy than the weekend and you will have 100% of the sales associates attention. The inclement weather didnt hurt either! I began browsing the fashion jewelry on the right and after about 30 seconds, a jewelry specialist approached me to see if there was anything I was particularly interested in. I briefly mentioned my engagement intentions and she invited me to sit in front of the bridal jewelry case and offered me something to drink. I was pleased to hear they had hot cider spot on this cold, rainy day! Mary Herouvis was my diamond jewelry specialist and was very knowledgeable about the different jewelry designers they carried. After sitting down, she asked me if I had any time constraints. I was happy to hear this question because it demonstrated that she respected my time. Another Greenwich Jewelry specialist brought me my hot cider. I sipped on my drink as Mary began explaining how Greenwich Jewelers focuses on helping their customer find the right jewelry piece. She explained that they start with a budget from the consumer and then move to selecting the right setting from their large selection of designer settings. The next step is sourcing the perfect diamond. . Again, if a jeweler doesnt have the right diamond in stock, dont worry. Its common that they may not have the exact diamond in stock, but many jewelers are willing to source it for the consumer. Mary recommended we start from right to left until we found my favorite designer settings. This is where I was impressed with her knowledge. I felt that she could accurately describe each setting in detail and knew the story behind the designer. If she didnt have the right sized setting that would fit the final stone, it would be hand crafted to accommodate my requirements. We spent almost 30 minutes looking at settings. If I liked something, she would set it off to the side. In the end, we focused on three settings that I liked and she agreed to follow up via email with the details. The next day, I received an email outlining the settings we selected and an invitation for myself and girlfriend to meet in the near future. The staff at Greenwich Jewelers is extremely knowledgeable about the designers they carry. They are respectful of your time, and show a genuine interest in your significant other--, how you met and your story. They first focus on selecting the perfect setting, and then on finding the perfect diamond. Greenwich Jeweler is a company that you should consider visiting if you are in the financial district.

First, if you are shopping for an engagement ring. Greenwich should definitely be on your list of places to visit. I spent quite some time going to the different jewelry stores in the vicinity of broad/wall st and you will not find a more genuine, or helpful store... Forget about Tiffanys -- you will only be greeted by a snobby european woman on the second floor -- forget about any other stores where they advertise "discounts" and try to sell you a ring right from the their showcase. You will just feel guilty about your purchase down the line. Finally, I would certainly not consider an online purchase. You must see the ring in person, and learning about it is priceless, really. Greenwich was the last place I was going to visit before temporarily taking a break from ring shopping.. so I am glad I stopped in and spoke with Lauren. Lauren, as well as the other GIA certified sales people really teach you about the diamond, and rings in general. Theres no pressure, and no big discussion about budgets that make you feel awkward. They have a large assortment of different designer settings that are fairly priced. (nothing ridiculously expensive, or suspiciously cheap). Greenwich encourages adding custom detailing to the ring you choose, which is what I ended up doing. The ring became unique and not something easily found on TV commercials, which is good because your future wife will definitely be looking for comparable rings out of pure curiosity :) I appreciated all the help I received there, and eventually made a purchase on my 3rd visit back. I had the choice to buy cheaper rings at competitor stores but after you really see the service they provide, you will not want to. Hopefully Greenwich will continue to be around for quite some time as I look forward to being a long term customer. If you read their story on the website, you will see they really care about several aspects of their business, and the industry they serve. Thanks Lauren, and the rest of GW team. Keep up the great work - thats how customer service should be!

To add to what Andrew said: I came in to get a damaged ring fixed - the centerpiece was visibly off center. They told me it would take two weeks and it would cost approximately 150 (including a slight resizing and polishing as well) Today was two weeks later, and I came in to the shop only to discover (and yes, everything takes literally 10 minutes waiting at the counter - you can tell the time by the readout on their burglar alarm behind the counter) that the repair was not actually performed, but the sizing and polishing was. Their excuse? "Its not written down on the receipt" I am really underwhelmed by a jewelry shop that sees fit to ask you all sorts of personal questions to pass the time, but cant be bothered to write down the most important reason for the visit. I had explained at great length to two separate shopkeepers on my initial visit that I wanted the ring repaired, but I did not realise that I had to supervise their note-taking. Furthermore, it is amazing to me that either their master jewler did not notice the glaring dis-symmetry (the center stone is practically drooping from the center) in the ring, or deemed it unnecessary for a follow up call to see if the ring should be fixed or not. Now I have to wait another week+ for the ring to be ready, and pay twice as much as I was originally quoted. This is not how you retain customers. Update: Shop owner Jennifer did reach out to smooth things over as much as possible, and actually refunded all charges by telephone, so at least this ended on a positive note

My husband and I found Greenwich Jewelers through NY Magazine and bought my engagement ring and our wedding bands there. We loved the small size of the store and their selection. We highly recommend it! We worked with Lauren N. throughout the process. When we first met with her, we were looking for an engagement ring together, and we didn’t know what to expect. We were a bit anxious and hadn’t nailed down our final price range. Greenwich Jewelers was the first and only store we visited because we felt so comfortable with Lauren. She was extremely knowledgable and friendly, but most of all, she didn’t pressure us in the least. Lauren supported our vision and advised us on diamonds and metals. She encouraged us to consider everything and make the best decision for ourselves. After we were engaged, we moved away from NYC, but we made a visit back to work with Lauren on our wedding bands. We didn’t want to go anywhere else! As for their selection, both of my rings are from the designer Single Stone in Los Angeles. They’re designed to look vintage, are delicate, and unique for our generation. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them! My husband’s matte, rose gold band is also unique. We couldn’t be happier with the service and our jewelry. We recommend working with Lauren. You won’t be disappointed!
