I went into this store to browse through their smart phone selection as I was looking to purchase one and place it on a family members plan on which a line was already opened up for me. It should have been as simple as purchasing the phone and transferring my number. After picking up the BlackBerry, the alarm sounded for at least 30 seconds before someone, without so much as saying a word to me, walked over to shut it off. I continued browsing, picked up the iPhone. Decided I liked both the BlackBerry and iPhone, so to choose between them, picked up the BlackBerry. Alarm sounded again. This time an agitated "salesman" walked over to me complaining that I had been in the store too long (hadnt even been an hour), that it was about to close (about a half hour left til close time), and implied that I had been trying to steal the phone. He said that I cant just stand there and browse, I have to ask for a sales rep... Fine, I explain to him the situation, that I am trying to buy a phone RIGHT NOW, and am browsing. He asks which phones Im interested in, I tell him the iPhone and the BlackBerry. After asking two simple questions that I really had no interest in knowing, I bring up the iPhone 5 and ask how its going to be different. (A crucial topic, mind you, if youre thinking about purchasing the current iPhone)..... He has no idea, says he knows nothing about it. Incompetence at its finest. Ive been harassed, encouraged to leave the store, possibly accused of trying to steal the phone because the alarm sounded twice. I told him I simply picked up the phone and the alarm sounded, twice. He backtracks and claims that its just sensitive and to be careful with it... I picked up every phone in the smartphone section and just that one sounds off, TWICE. Clearly there is something wrong with it. But no, I must have been trying to steal it. A phone secured to the wall... of course. Meanwhile, a big burly security guard stands near the door and stares me down the entire time. Upon entering, I give a polite greeting. Receive nothing in return. First time the alarm sounds, I get nothing from him. The second time, he finally speaks up, only to ask what I am trying to do (once again implying that I am trying to steal the phone). Havent even mentioned the obnoxious sales lady talking loudly making a personal call and cursing repeatedly. Highly unprofessional. Insulted is an understatement, especially when you consider that I make substantially more than these phone salesmen and am more than capable of purchasing a phone...

Well, at least everyone else here seems to have gotten more than abou seven feet into the store. I just walked out of there and was highly tempted to literally just walk through the glass door without opening it so that these useless sacks of dung would be FORCED into doing something that actually involves work. I walk in the door and an overly cheery ditz with an iPad basically dismisses the previous customer (apparently after having been as utterly useless to them as was about to be with me) and chirps, "Hi Im [Flinderbatz or whatever], and you are?" A little awkward, but sure - at least there was an introduction. Next: "Yeah, hi, Im here to speak with someone about my upgrade options and I kind of..." And I get cut off. "Oh, take out your phone," it chirps at me, shifting its beloved iPad from one crook of arm to the other. I take out my phone, which looks like it got chewed on by Megatron. "Ooooohhh - thats UGLY." Really? Notthat Im here for assistance because the phone is mangled, but is your commentary really required? "Yeah, I know, so I was going to ask..." "OK, unlock your phone and dial 6..." "Are you kidding me - right now? Are you seriously - an ostensibly real, live human being, physically "working" at this establishment about to tell a customer who hasnt even been able to get out-of-mouth what it is they are here for to DIAL 611 right now? You do realize that its 2013, right? These services and devices have been around for a while. You DO REALIZE that I am not a new customer - and I know you realize it because the comment you just made about my ugly broken phone indicates that you SAW it and it isnt new, so neither am I. What, exactly, is there a store here if youre just telling people who come in to call someplace else? Why the F would I take time out of my day to walk on in here if I could just CALL someone and get the answer I want?" Not much of an answer forthcoming after that barrage. If I had a mic, I wouldve dropped it on the floor. Useless. Useless. Useless. AT&T oughtta just forgo the rental cost of that space and take a couple of pennies off everyones bill.

I work on wall street and have been to this store twice, trying to get a post-paid plan for my unlocked iPhone. Each time the sales rep was bored and lazy and to get any helpful information I literally had to drag answers out of them. It is like they did not care at all and were not motivated to sell their service. Add to this their incompetence - twice I have been given different info and I still could not subscribe because they found yet another thing that they need from me that they forgot/disregarded/were not aware of last time. I lived in 5 countries before moving here for work reasons and nowhere did I ever encounter such difficulties to get a postpaid contract and such unpleasant and unhelpful service. Waste of time.

This store is miraculously still functional after all these years and bad reviews. I assumed since reviews were old the store wouldve been updated, but alas the employees are just as useless and as incompetent as was warned. I couldnt believe it. The sales reps were legitimately not interested in answering questions coherently or with any logic. I spent all of 3 minutes trying to get one sales girl to be a normal human being and answer questions about the options but it was truly useless. They must run contests amongst themselves to see who can get a customer out the fastest. Unbelievable. A complete waste of prime retail space. These people clearly have no aspirations in life if they cant dedicate 10% effort to this one job.

This is the worst AT&T store in New York. If youre going to this store to make changes to your account, the ignorant representative will most likely ask you to call AT&T customer service. I went in the other day to inquire about repair to my damaged phone which is covered by insurance. I was shocked when they handed me a business card to a third-party unauthorized dealer on Maiden Lane. They probably don’t know that work performed by unauthorized stores would void the manufacturer warranty. Not sure if AT&T should continue to keep this store open because it is clearly damaging the reputation of the AT&T brand on WALL STREET.

I went here to see if I could get comparable service from what Im getting from Verizon, whose contract is coming up to expiration. The AT&T person seemed to have little interest in helping me, and seemed to be running to a meeting, and constantly checking his watch. He guided me to a plan that was more expensive than what I was getting. When I pressed him for specifics he said yes in fact I could get exactly what I was getting at a better rate, but only after I forced the issue. Why wouldnt you tell me that in the first place? Go somewhere else.
