Short Story : "No good deed goes unpunished" Long Story : While clearing out my mothers house, I had several nice, large pieces of furniture that I wanted to see go to a good home. I contacted St. Vincent and scheduled a pickup date then spent hours moving all of the furniture to the side of the house for pickup the night before the pickup. I heard that i might snow, so I purchased a boat tarp to cover and wrap the items. In total the stack of furniture was about 10x10. When they first arrived they called to tell me they didnt see the pile. (Keep in mind, we made specific notes of the location and itemized all items for pickup) When we rescheduled, they were hours late and finally called to tell us they wouldnt take any of the furniture because it was wood, and it was raining which would ruin the pieces. Because we were trying to close on the sale of the house we had to pay a company called the JunkLuggers over $700 to pick up the furniture and bring it to Big Brother Big Sister, who accepted EVERYTHING. In total, St Vincent wasted weeks of our time trying to do a generous thing and were nearly the cause for a delay in our closing date.

TERRIBLE PLACE they are RUDE and bullied me into picking up a piece of furniture with the FLU even when I called to explain I was terribly sick. They refused to give me a refund they offered a store credit only - which if Im so broke Im shopping in a thrift store and they are threatening to no longer hold my item because I am sick the LAST THING I want is a store credit. This is NOT a Christian organization this is a CORPORATION and I would encourage everyone to avoid this place and shop elsewhere. Now I have to go pick up furniture with over 100 temperature. Definitely not Christian of them to do this. They complained about me "taking up their storage space for two weeks" when its completely out of my control - and anyone who sees or talks to me right now can clearly see how sick I am.

called to donate a leather couch and love seat. excellent shape but in need on wiping down with a cleaner, they would not take it because of that! Then more recently went to drop off donations and went inside to look for a coffee table for my neighbor. Prices are way too high. i thought they were there to help people in need? They get things for free, are way too picky and then put ridiculous prices on the donated items! Id like to know where the money goes? I will not donate to them any more. I will be donating to an animal rescue that holds flea mkts or has their own thrift store.

I had a desk in good condition and a TV armoire that was in excellent condition along with 2 book shelves. They took the book shelves but nothing else .Their truck was not equipped to help them load anything that I and my husband could not easily lift. So if you have anything heavier, even in excellent condition, you may not want to bother calling them. They have a list of things to be donated ahead of time. The drivers decide what they will take. No inconvenience to me, have College Hunks getting the rest Monday.

This place is starting to look like a library with all the books in there since they raised the price to $2 for a hard cover and $1 for soft cover, now theyre selling books and have a lot more inventory taking up more space, I used to spend a fortune here I spent 50 cents on one book today. I wont be back and I think less people are going back to themselves

Would be a great place but the furniture is way over priced for second hand items. For the amount of money they are charging you can buy brand new furniture..
