I have been going to Niagara Hobby for over a year now and I have been greatly impressed with their continued growth into the miniature war-gaming hobby! When I first started going, their selection was mostly centered around GW products...but now they have taken a whole aisle and expanded into other popular systems such as Warmachine/Hordes, X-Wing and Flames of War as well as other board game offerings from Fantasy Flight. Their selection for those systems is also ever expanding. As an intense FoW player, however, I am excited that they also carry Plastic Soldier Company miniatures to help frugally flesh out my armies. Their wargaming accessories have also grown to accommodate the Army Painter line (which, IMHO, is just awesome), stocking both their paints, washes, dips, sprays, and the basing tufts (which again are amazing). Furthermore, their prices CANNOT be beat. Before now, I have had to order everything online. Which, if you order from a very popular online retailer who happens to reside in NYS as well, you have to pay regular sales tax IN ADDITION to their shipping charge. If you are looking for anything wargamming related, take my advice and go to Niagara Hobby instead. Their wargamming staff is amazingly friendly, knowledgeable and have personal experience with a variety of systems. Finally, it is the stores atmosphere that keeps me coming back (almost on a bi-weekly basis). As a dad with a young family, knowing that I can take my kids with me and enjoy my hobby cannot be emphasized enough. They are family friendly (which, lets be honest, not every gaming store is) and also carry everything from Thomas the Tank Engine to models, rockets, trains, rc cars etc. Where else can my five year old play at a Thomas table while I launch assaults across a miniature battlefield??? They have their own gaming area with four to six tables, terrain, etc and host open gaming nights on Tuesdays and Fridays. So, if you are looking for a game, have any questions or need advice on a particular game/army stop by and the staff and fellow gamers would be happy to help!

I just began going back to this business after several years away and was pleasantly surprised. When you walk in you are immediate greeted by multiple staffers. Then you begin seeing the wide selection of paints and various games, as well as a great selection of other hobby supplies. I see that people who posted here said they were upset with the selection of gaming supplies. I have been there a few times in the past month and it looks as if they are stocking up and maintaining a larger inventory in gaming/painting supplies. Another great factor for me is that they are working on creating a ton of new terrain/tables for people to use their products on open days. Also the leagues that they are creating seem to be building up a community very nicely. The last part of this store that I enjoy is their pricing. They understand that you can go online and order products, but they price competitively and understand the customers point of view. This on top of providing a nice environment to compete makes me want to spend there rather than waiting online. TLDNR: Pricing and Community are Great, Buy and Play games there.

The recent addition of a gaming section within the store has made Niagara Hobby my number one supplier of all gaming products. I formerly used internet retailers due to convenience of ordering and cheaper prices to get everything from miniature wargaming supplies to board games. The quick order turnaround as well as on-hand stock the store carries has now led me to abandon online ordering entirely. In addition to the great turnaround and on-hand selection, the prices match those of the online retailers, its great to see a local store able to compete with the prices we formerly used to see only online in this area. The staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly and provide a very welcoming atmosphere, despite the fact that gaming is a relatively new product line to the store. Every week 3-4 events or gaming nights are put on completely free of cost with a friendly community. Taking all of this into account, Niagara Hobby is now my number one destination for gaming supplies and events, I hope they continue to grow that side of the business and offer even more products down the line.

My daughter was given a remote controlled helicopter as a gift for Christmas from her Uncle. We opened it up Christmas morning and the thing didnt work. This was not a cheap gift so he took it back to the store to return the defective toy. They REFUSED to take back the item because the package had been opened!? How would we have known it didnt work without opening it up? This makes no sense to me at all. I am all for supporting local businesses but I will NEVER buy anything from this store ever again. Buyer beware!!! UPDATE: After seeing my review, Niagara Hobby contacted me and was eager to assist with this matter. My sister and brother-in-law visited the store and received a refund. The staff was very accommodating and apologetic.

Ive been here a few times. The first time I met a staff member who was excellent and very helpful. Then today on 3/11/14 I called to ask about when they receive certain products. The guy on the phone was rude and short toned. His response was "It gets here when it gets here.".... They dont have specific dates or regular product order deliveries? Ill still shop here till another store in my area begins to carry Privateer Press products in the area. Once the other hobby shops start carrying Privateer Press though, Ill only show up for tournaments and to convince their customers to shop somewhere else.

I dont know what other people are saying but when I walked in almost every worker ran to me to try to help me out and when I asked a question that was too difficult for one employee he went and got a more knowledgeable employee about that subject. Of course they dont have much around the holidays. But everything is reasonably priced and the selection on models and paints are amazing. The only thing I want to suggest is if they are reading this please stock gundams I dont want to order online all the time Id rather drive the 40 mins and pick it up in store.

Empty shelves, the products they do have are over priced, unfriendly staff, and unwilling to help. Just called asking if they carried a product. First person who answered the phone was very put out that I asked him to see if they had something in stock. Begrudgingly, he said he would check and put me on hold. Second person who took me off hold was rude, nasty, short and clearly uninterested in trying to make a sale. Ive been shopping here for years and it seems to be getting worse and worse. My days of spending money there are over.

Absolutely rudest people ever, I am a 30 year old and they told me I had to ethier leave my tim Hortons coffee up front or leave the store .... like a child!. I am an adult, I think I can handle a cup of coffee, and if by some fluke accident I dropped my coffee I would have no problem paying for any murchandice damaged. Treating your customers poorly will not get you far. I will happily come to this place, look at what I want to buy and then order it online instead.
