I had the worst possible experience here. I went for a rutinary eye exam, and went in 1 whole hour later. There was a lady after me that was told "tell you husband not to come because Im leaving". The doctor proved to be not very interested in my history (I have to get them checked for extra things because my mom has many things going on with her eyes). She put some drops in my eyes without saying a word. When she turned the light on I was seeing all weird, my eyes were feeling funny and I said "did you dilate my pupils?" she said "no... that feeling will go away" I said "oh, ok, what was it then?" "No, dont worry, it will last like 10 minutes at the most" I went out, and I was paying but I was feeling my eyes weird, could barely move them, was barely able to blink... I was getting a headache, and I looked in the mirror, I saw my eyes all yellow-green, and I started getting lightheaded, I asked the girls "what were those drops... I feel weird". But nobody could answer... I had to go sit down and the doctor came to me. I asked her again (with eyes closed) "what were the drops??" and she said "no, this doesnt have to do with the drops... never seen this before, must be your anxiety" And I said "what anxiety? I wasnt anxious!" and she answered "yes, yes, with the tests, you know..." and she left it there. When I came home, my husband told me it was most likely just anesthesic (maybe she put an extra drop for good measure), for the internal tension test. But why on Earth wouldnt she tell me??? I dont know if it is some kind of law, but to me it looks like the worst possible practice that a doctor REFUSES to tell the patient what she/he has put in her eyes. It was simple anaesthesia, tell me, I will know what is going on, I wont freak out if I cant move my eyes and see in 4D...! I will for sure never go there again, and I dont recommend it. I went because I like to support smaller places, but this was a total fiasco, rude, impersonal, late, and so bad with patients... Not worth it. Dont GO!

Taking forever to get **TRIAL** contacts. I dont bother complaining because I was there on July 30th, and it is now in the middle of October, and I still do not have any trial contacts to try. I had one pair, but that was it and they werent even for my correct prescription, in fact they felt worse than my previous prescription glasses. They keep telling me theyre on order and theyll call me as soon as they arrive, but its now in the middle of October and Im still waiting for a call. I just got my prescription and am ready to try a new place. So much for my $75 credit towards my contacts; itd be great to use my credit, if I could actually place an order for contacts Id be confident with. Also, my glasses frames I bought were supposed to be new. They look scratched and a tiny bit worn. Either they sold me a display model or they really messed up during the lens cutting process. Regardless, the condition I am supposed to get my frames, is NEW, if this is new, this is a joke. The only reason why I dont mind giving this place 1 star as opposed to zero (if I could...), was that the doctor was really nice and I liked her. She was very professional, helpful, and definitely took her time to help me.

This is, in a word, a horrible place to get glasses. The doctor is nice, but the salespeople will lie through their teeth to get a purchase. We went in to get a regular exam and glasses, and they claimed they could get us free pairs of glasses from our insurance. Free turned to a set amount put towards a frame, and by the time we actually picked one, it took a month to make. They claimed to be able to do bifocals, but that took two weeks. By the time we got them, they were crooked and gave my partner headaches. When we noticed the problem, we took the pair to get it fixed. The guy claimed they werent broken, and tried to clamp them back in place. The bifocal lines were pointing 20 degrees to the left, both sides. After he used his tool, they were exactly the same. He had the gall to tell me they were perfectly straight. Now theyre saying we have to pick a new frame. Frankly, theyre worse than incompetent, theyre liars to boot.

Love this place. I was hanging out with my friends in Bay Ridge and got something in my eye from wind and it impaired my vision like hell. I googled a nearest eye doctor office in the area and found Royal Optix. When I walked in, it was completely packed with people but when I explained that had an emergency they expedited me to see doctor right way. Doctor was very caring to help me with my issue and prescribed me some drops to help me with retinal scratch that I developed. After weeks I went back to see doctor again to see id everything got back to normal with my eye. Once she confirmed that my scratch healed to the fullest I started to check out the glasses that Royal Optix carried. They have such a big selection of glasses to choose from and staff is very friendly and patient. Thank you royal for new pair Celine glasses. Highly recommended :)

Great optical place! A huge selection of frames and sunglasses and a very helpful staff that ordered a pair of frames that wasnt in and got lenses put in hastily. Recommend it to anyone looking for frames or sunglasses. Very informative website and FB page, too! Cheers!
