My husband made an appointment to have our dog groomed. We set the appointment up for 4:00 and drove an hour into town. Since we live in Alamogordo, we planned to take our dog to the appointment and hang out in town while he was groomed. When my husband dropped the dog off, we were told it would take 3-4 hours because "they were really busy". Despite making an appointment, we had to wait four hours for him to be groomed. Making an appointment was pointless because walk-ins were given as much priority as someone who made an appointment, a day in advance. We traveled from out of town and did not anticipate spending 4 additional hours waiting. The wait would not have been a big deal if we could have gone home during that time; however, we made the trip from out of town. We have a young son, and a baby due in two weeks. Our son was up past his bedtime due to the way this situation was handled. This was not the experience we had hoped for. On top of the gap between appointment time, and the time he was actually groomed, its obvious the grooming was rushed.

Went to my local Petsmart on Sunday to have my 2 dogs have their picture taken with Santa Claus. After waiting for 20 minutes, it was finally our turn. Supposedly, they would email the pictures to us with 24 hours (so they said). Come Tuesday, no pictures. I called them and questioned them about the pictures. "Hmmm. well, we had more people than expected. It may just be taking a little longer." Wednesday, still no pictures. They did say I could call their Corporate headquarters, and they might be able to help me. REALLY? I am VERY disappointed. Not sure Ill be going back to them.

We took our English Springer Spaniel, Buddy to Petsmart on Sunday June 11 for a grooming session. Buddy had never been groomed before and was terrified. Groomer Johnnie was absolutely Wonderful with him. He needed help holding our Buddy because he kept sitting and laying down. The assistant was equally wonderful to Buddy. We are very satisfied with our experience and happy we found such caring and loving and understanding professionals!

Large selection of fish items. Anything from tanks to plants and lights and friendly staff that can help. Never see fish floating dead in the tanks or even appear sick. Mainly freshwater fish but have some supplies for salt water and even ponds. Dont really use for our dog as we can get things for him elsewhere but lots of people bring in their pets and that is a nice change from when I was young where the dog had to stay in the car.

I have a Petco close to my work and their selection was horrible when it came to turtles. PetSmart had everything I was looking for sliding turtles and all amenities. Worth the drive up Lohman to find what Petco doesnt have in store. For the glofish I needed a light and they had 2 different LED lights in stock where as Petco had 5 different types so I purchased my light at Petco because they had the right size.

Went in to buy fish but the "fish guy" was very discouraging and acted like he owned the ocean! He didnt want to sell me any fish because he thought I didnt know how to care for them! Weirdo! Oh well, I I went to petCo and got my fish!

There are times when the staff are busy, but if you ask for help or they see you are looking, you can expect someone to ask if you need assistance, usually after being asked how your day is going and being welcomed to their store.

I found a dog crate here for half the price of competing pet stores, but it was a hidden deal on their website. Definitely check their website prices before buying in-store, because you may get a better deal that way.
