First time there the other day: Got an estimate on shortening a complex gold bracelet - for less than HALF of what my now-ex-jeweler offered me (although, my prior jeweler was a middleman). After talking with David and his jeweler for a long time about that bracelet and various other pieces I had with me, I decided to trust them completely and so went ahead and had the jeweler work on all 5 pieces at one time. I was there around 11:30am, and David asked if I wanted everything done TODAY. What jeweler offers that?!! More important: Davids jeweler did a fantastic job on all! David gave me a fair price on the resulting scrap gold, which obviously lessened the total cost nicely. Very personable, David gives you all the time you need to ask about everything you want to know. I believe he is knowledgeable, fair, and completely scrupulous - all critical qualities for a great jewelers (and the complete opposite of his Ridgewood rival around the corner). They will even tell you if you dont need something you think you need, saving you money; and one item the jeweler fixed at no charge (small fix, but still !) I live an hour away, but Pangea is now my one-and-only jewelers.

Working in Ridgewood, I used to walk by Pangea all the time. It always looked so inviting with cool-looking new and antique jewelry in the windows. I ended up taking in some pieces to be cleaned and David (the owner/operator) provided excellent service. Hes knowledgeable and engaging, and can talk all day about all types of jewelry. I ended up bringing in my Grandfathers Hamilton watch from the early 40s. It was in rough shape with tarnish and mildew (!) and was non-functioning. He returned it to beautiful, working shape in a matter of weeks and Im completely happy and satisfied with the work. I highly recommend stopping in to Pangea and speaking with David. You wont regret it.

I was referred to Pangea by my jeweler, Eddie in Massapeaqua Long Island (Collectors Coins and Jewelry) whom I had patronized for years until I re-located. I needed a jeweler in NJ for a semi-precious stone replacement. It was a small job but sentimental. David made me feel welcomed and had the stone replaced while I waited (on my lunch break). They reinforced the mounting and polished it to gleaming. They even threw in a ring guard and a lovely box all for well within my budget. Saw an ad advertising "mint condition" expensive watch, and made appointment to see it. Got to Pangea and David (the owner) showed me 4 fantastic pieces. I ended up buying the most expensive one, at an equally fantastic deal. The next day i brought my wifes Rolex, that was scratched up and the bracelet was in bad condition. For a fair (actually inexpensive) amount, Pangea made the watch look brand new! Great service, fantastic products! David will tell you, and sell you the bottom line. Recent bought an antique engagement ring there and received an excellent deal. I am not well versed in diamonds and jewelery, but you could tell just by looking that it was a very good quality diamond. While I was there David educated me on the topic and showed me different quality versions and what to look for. Very cool little shop. I collect coins as well, and his coin prices are very good too. If youve never been there I highly recommend stopping by, lots to look at. Its located in a great shopping district with plenty to do in the area.

Through an ad in the newspaper I found this location and Im so glad I did! I was looking to sell an engagement ring and David was very honest in giving me a ranged price for the ring based on its color, cut and clarity. I went to another location to get one other estimate but found that David was much friendlier and much more willing to explain to me his reasons for pricing on my rings, while the other places did not. A big reason why I went back to Pangea and used them. I would definitely go back and recommend them to others!

I recently went to David with a few items that I had already had appraised at two other places. He was extremely fair with the prices he offered me! His knowledge of the pieces were also impressive. I have gone back a few more times since then. I wont be going back to the two other places because David was knowledgeable, fair, and, simply put, NICE!
