Alan is very friendly and courteous. The store is at a great location and convenient because the Asian Food Market nearby is very popular. However, the prices here are not competitive, with or without insurance. I also found Alans advices at times overbearing. He tends to disregard clients experiences and opinions to that of his own. I appreciate a great salesman but I also like listeners. I am Asian, and I know there is a good population of Asians in Plainsboro. He suggested a pair of plastic frames to me without realizing that those do not work well with nose bridges for Asian clients. It was my first time using plastic frames, and I did not know any better. The glasses kept sliding off the nose bridge. When I try to push them up, they often touch the eyelids and became dirty. Scratch marks occur much sooner than usual for a new pair of glasses because of the excessing cleaning and taking on/off throughout the day. For the price I paid, I expected better knowledge from Alan. When I came in to ask for an exchange, of course, I was told to try it out further. Alan tends to disregard clients experiences like that. My advice to you is to check out other stores in nearby towns or at the Quaker Bridge Mall before committing to this store. He has a great location so your absence wont impact him much.

no one to judge what kind of people they are. I dont have short or long distance vision issues like i say iam 0size, when i asked for just the anti-glare glasses only for computer reading, some guy named Allen from store gave me power short distance vision glasses and informed me that i have to see the computer from VERY close distance and this will not make my vision better or worst but will reduce strain. im a fool to take the glasses home but its causing me dizziness after using it for about a week. I went to check some other places and they informed me if i dont have vision issues, i shouldnt EVER go for power short or long distance glasses it will harm eyes eventually in future. These guys in order to make money sell you what they have. PLEASE DONT EVER GO TO THIS Store. dont trust their hospitality, allan fake smile and when i also asked for written receipt/invoice which stats what feature the glasses has got he denied he cant give it. What a bad place to stop by.

Under the friendly facade is an extremely rude and arrogant person. Spend more than 10 minutes with him and you will see why. Buying glasses or lenses is something most of us have gone through many times before, and the last thing we need are the lessons that are clearly influenced by markups. His pushing towards preferable brands and products is shameless. His patience wears razor thin the moment he realizes the customer knows what he/she wants. In such moments it is not uncommon that he would rudely show the customer the way out. Two positive messages from below are as though they are being taken from their promo leaflet. The claim that you should make an appointment as they are busy is laughable, as this is the most desolate business in the thriving strip mall.

Fantastic service and selection! My wife and I have been coming here forever. The owner is so kind, super friendly and very patient -- he will show me frames until I am happy with my selections. The quality, selection and service are unbeatable. I honestly dont understand how anyone could have a bad experience here - they must be crazy, miserable people who hate everything and feel constitutionally entitled to free things. Obviously when one goes to purchase eyeglasses/sunglasses/contacts, one is going to have to pay for them, and your insurance is not going to cover the whole thing. Its like all healthcare. Meadows Opticians have been open for yeas and years and I completely understand why -- best optican I have EVER been to!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I wish I had seen these reviews BEFORE!! The past reviews are spot on...this place is extremely EXPENSIVE! I could understand a huge markup if the place warranted it but its an outdated and antiquated place. Very limited selection of glasses. These people clearly only want your money. I will never go back here! The tall guy is very pushy and the opticians wife is quite rude and unprofessional. I encourage you to take your business elsewhere--I sure wish I did! I believe they know that people are unsatisfied but they just dont care. The only way to get through to these people is through their pockets!

My experience has been nothing but great over the last 3 eyeglass changes I received from Allan. I can honestly say I get many complements on my eyewear from my friends and clients alike. The attention to detail Allan provides puts the other shops I have bought from to shame. For example, one other shop sold me a pair of glasses that slid down my face/nose incessantly and no one could adjust them not to slide. The glasses themselves were not for my face. And Allan would have never let me purchase them in the first place. Thanks Allan for helping me with my glasses! I am pleased beyond words.

I have nothing but GREAT experiences at Meadows Optical. My eyes can see perfectly and the bi-focals I was given by Allan were a breeze to get used to. In fact I did not even have to think about it at all, they just worked. Everything from the lens to the frames themselves were a perfect match for me! Thanks Allan B! I dont know why these other folks had a problem but I can openly state that my glasses and the way I can see with them is worth every penny. I am a believer in you get what you pay for.

Just picked up my glasses. There is nothing wrong with this store. Who is that complaining ignoramus Manuel down below? VSPs pay up to a limit wherever you shop. My VSP could get me nearly free plain frames with lenses at Walmart but then people would see my face and say, "Still shopping at Walmart, huh?" But junk doesnt last. Manuel should stick to Walmart and buy his clothes there too. His VSP wont pay for those either but he can complain and maybe get a coupon for new shoes.

I do not agree with the below reviews. I have been going here for the past ten or so years and the owner has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The prices reflect the quality, especially in comparison to the chain stores (lens crafters, pearle vision, etc etc). The frames here are not cheap and discontinued styles, such as the other stores, and each pair of glasses I have gotten here has lasted me YEARS. WONDERFUL.

Me, my husband and 2 children all get glasses from here and I think the service and quality are excellent. Once, right after my daughter broke her glasses, the owner didnt charge me for new frames! They carry the latest stuff and are very reasonably priced. Everyone gets fooled by all these big box chain stores that offer deals but when all is said and done, the prices are all the same -- you get what you pay for!

Ive been getting my glasses here since the opening of this store. I have bought glasses from others as well but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Meadows Opticians is the very best place. Perfectly fitted and always the best service. What is the issue with insurance? It only goes so far as mine does, that is the way it works. Nothing is free and if you expect free then something is wrong with you.
