I have been going here for many years, before it was visionworks it was called eye drx. Ive always had good customer service from the reps, but, lol, one of the male doctors who i think is no longer there creeped me out during my eye exam a few years ago. he made it known to me that he knew my address, age, etc. I know they have all this info but he didnt have to talk about it. I cut that conversation off quickly but then I never really saw him again. The other male doctor is a professional, the female doctor is a little wacky, shes a know-it-all but the prescription she gave my kids was fine for them. She takes a long time with her patients, sometimes too long. I like that the glasses come in fast, sometimes overnight for the easier (simple) prescriptions. They always call me to pick them up and they check my insurance correctly and give me all the right discounts whether im using my work insurance or not. I have bought the cheap eyeglasses and also the designer ones and never had any problems, my husband buys the contacts. I am switching my teens to contacts soon so i hope it works out. But I have no tolerance for people who try to bull$#!% me or give me crap ass customer service so if things do not go well with the contacts they will know right away and so will everyone else since I review often.

I originially went here because my boyfriend said he had a great experience. NOT!! First of all, the doctor did not listen to me AT ALL. I was trying to tell him about my previous contacts, and he kept interrupting me and telling me I was wrong. He blamed me for an eye infection that was caused my previous contacts (whole other story, but its pretty hard to "overwear" contacts if youre only wearing them 4 hours a week). I literally could not finish an entire sentence. It took 6 tries to tell him about my allergies. As someone who has work either glasses or contacts for 20 years, I think I have a pretty good idea of what the heck is going on with my eyes. When I tried to check out, I was told that their system was charging me $94 for an appointment that, with insurance, should have cost about $45. The rep actually argued with me, and then finally went to check my insurance. While she was standing at the counter, I could hear her talking to other reps about me. I finally turned around and said, "SHE is upset because SHE is being overcharged and no one can explain why." The rep came back and told me there was no need to get an attitude!! The exam took 45 minutes, paying took over an hour. I will never again go to this Vision Works. I wont even be ordering my contacts or glasses from them.

Ive been dealing with Raffi (Raffella?) in the Paramus office on Rt. 17 S and I do have to say no matter my issue or questions she is very helpful, honest, knowledgeable, prompt, professional AND a great sense of humor. Shes relatable and open so I found her very, very easy to speak with regarding my eyewear and everything else BUT eyewear ! She was able to take what I like and wanted and helped find the right fit for me. She was honest with me when something did not look good on me which is 1 thing I look for in my customer service representative, HONESTY ! She wasnt rude, never made me feel like I was keeping her from something. I was there for hours trying to find the "perfect pair" and again, she never made me feel rushed or that I was keeping her from other things like some representatives now-a-days being tied up on their phones. If you go to VisionWorks on Rt. 17S in Paramus, NJ I would suggest asking and waiting for Raffi (Raffella?) to assist you. Shes also young enough to know whats in and what will look great on your face.

This place is HORRIBLE!! My daughter was given Acuvue Oasys contacts. The sample pair that they gave her was fine. Her problems began when she wore her first pair from her prescribed contact packet. She developed an eye infection in both eyes. The doctor wasnt sure what it was but gave her drops for both eyes. It cleared up in about a week.with . When she wears the contacts she cant see! Her vision is extremely blurry, but fine when she puts on her glasses. She has worn contacts for over 15 years now without problems. Obviously there is something wrong with these contacts. She tried to make an appointment to see the doctor. She didnt want to hear about the problem. The doctor was very nasty and hang up on her. Can you believe that?? She will now go to a REAL eye doctor and is getting in touch with Johnson & Johnson. This place should not be in business!

Ive been doing business with Visionworks for over 10 years, albeit at different locations, and have always had good experience. I took my dad, who is 90 years old, to this store and they couldnt have been kinder, more patient, or more accommodating. Everyone, from the doctors assistant to the general manager, was friendly and professional and made every effort to make sure my dad knew and understood what was going on at every step. Additionally, they told us his glasses would be ready in 7-10 days and, in fact, they were done in 3. I cant understand why the previous reviews written about this store were so negative but dont believe them. I highly recommend these folks if you need new glasses and live anywhere in the vicinity.

This place REALLY turned around their customer service. Ive been coming here for a while and in the past two years things have changed around in a wonderful way. I just stepped out of a yearly eye exam/picking up contacts and I had to give a review. I was in-an-out in an hour, was greeted very kindly, did not wait long in between exams, and had a wonderful doctor give me a final exam. I chose to pay for the extra optical screening and it was worth it. They take a snapshot of the back of your eyes that can tell if youre developing a brain tumor, glaucoma, or any other diseases. She was a very sweet, kind doctor who seemed to love her job. The staff was kind and the wait was short. 5/5

My experience, while it didnt result in an eye infection like the other reviewers, wasnt any better. I have worn hard lenses since 1967, and knew I needed a small change to my prescription. The doctor insisted that my prescription was all wrong and said that nothing I had been doing prior to my visit with her mattered because she was going to examine me "from the beginning" and give me the right prescription. My Dad was an optometrist - this lady was off her rocker. I walked out in the middle of the eye exam and will be returning one more time, to pick up my records (which it took them 2 days to find) and take them to another eye doctor.

Customer service never follows through with their words. Never do follow up calls when they need to. Over the past 3 or 4 years I have to call in myself to see if my contacts came in and always come up with the excuse that they called but my phone is disconnected when it really is not. Their tracking system is pathetic. Cant figure out when a last visit was or if I ever got my contacts or not. I ordered them a month ago and nothing. This is my last time with them. Ill he doing business elsewhere.
