This review isnt so much based on the tattoos as it as as the piercings. I did get my first tattoo here and that was a painless experience. Theyre definitely way over priced and shouldnt have paid as much as I did for my tattoo. But it was my first tattoo and I didnt know better. Today I went in to get a new lip ring because mine broke the night before. I had the broken one still in to make sure the piercing didnt close, so once I got there I was itching to get it out of me because it was scratchy and painful. So I took it out of my lip once we got the process going and she said "your germs are different than everyone elses. we dont want them getting every where" and then proceeded to get windex and clean the surface I was near and made me use purel on my hands. After that weird thing happened I found the exact lip ring I had in mind but it was just one gauge thicker than the one I currently had in. She suggested I ordered it and just wouldnt get it today, which unfortunately wasnt an option given my situation. I told her I used to be a size bigger but went down for the ring I just broke, and she told me "well that doesnt matter" when I was just genuinely just saying that I was pierced at a different size and have gotten a different size for the perfect ring. I have never written a review before for anywhere but I was just so uncomfortable by this situation. I definitely would never go back there and would have to do my best to stop people from going there. Their prices are way too way they make you feel dumb, and their employees are arrogant and make it feel so stiff and uncomfortable in there. Which is funny because the place is physically very appealing, but that means nothing. For piercings, go down the street to Sanctum. Theyre way cheaper, way nicer, so friendly, and not stuck up at all there. Save yourself the money and discomfort.

Not a positive experience. My first tattoo was at revolver last year , and my artist was Chris. But when I went in this year , looked like he left the place. I hate to write negative reviews but I think I should write, and save some people their time. I went in and talked to two guys( unfortunately dont know their names). I told them my idea for my tattoo, which honestly was not anything outside this world. Both the guys tried to came up with the design , and we went back and forth for 2-3 times. One of the guys came to me and said this doesnt look that great , do u want to rethink your idea. I walked off. It looked like they are disinterested in doing the work, or lets say to come up with an idea which would work. I understand all artists are not at same level and I should not have my expectations based on the pictures they have in the tattoo parlor. These are the things which I think made my experience not that great. 1. Lack of professionalism . When you are talking to customer , you should give 100% attention to that customer, which didnt happen in my case. When I was explaining my tattoo, he was getting distracted by people walking in and started talking to them. 2. They should have put more effort - When I have them my idea, they couldnt do it . They should have worked with me , rather than telling me to rethink it. Or should have told me to talk to a different artist who does that kind of work. 3. Showing disinterest in the customer. I am 100% sure , not everyone going to revolver had bad experience and their must be some great artists working. But this was my experience. When I walked out of the parlor , I was discouraged and started to rethink my tattoo. I googled other tattoo place and found : Anchor tattoo company, and got a great tattoo without rethinking my design. Ps: my positive review for anchor tattoo company -vik

This is easily one of my favorite tattoo parlors in the tri-state area. I have my own regular places in New York City, but ever since I found myself in Revolver really randomly on a snowy New Years Day afternoon three years ago, I have never ceased to come back. Since then I am the proud owner of a piece worked by every single artist working there! (except for Midge, who was going through his apprenticeship at the time). It is extremely professional. The space is wide, brightly lit, and provides comfortable couches and ample literature to help the newbies relax and wait while their designs are being processed. There is a lot of flash sheets to get inspired by, and every single artist is available, friendly, and patient with the client. They understand a tattoo is a permanent fixture of ones body that necessitates time and thorough examination. Even though one of my tattoos was quite painful, Evan did everything he possibly could to make the experience pleasurable for me. I appreciate his patience and empathy. To this day Revolver is my go-to walk-in tattoo place of choice, and I can recommend it warmly to both new tattoo lovers or old fashioned ones - every style is represented and your choice is well respected. Another special mention goes to Jessica - the gentlest touch in the whole tri state area! This girl is a gem, she is perfect, sweet, and totally adorable - yet very busy, so make sure you book an appointment if you want to have her as your artist. Love Revolver and will be back soon!

I went into Revolver around 4:30PM one day and spoke to Jesse about my possible custom design. After she very politely explained what would and wouldnt work, she recommended a version of my tattoo that I was very pleased with. She then put me down in her book for 7:30PM that very night. I showed up at 7:00PM, signed the papers, and at 7:30, she called me in and we got started. She was incredibly friendly during the tattooing process and kept conversation going throughout the entire time talking about how she loved the font I chose and the reason behind the tattoo, etc. 43 minutes later at 8:13, she picked up the needle and started cleaning my arm. I was expecting the tattoo to take at least an hour and cost about $300. After 43 minutes (including set-up), I got a perfectly done $214 tattoo. Im going back in a couple days to get another part of my sleeve done, and I will definitely be going back to Jesse.

I love my tattoo, I love my artist and I love this place. They treat every person who comes through their door with respect. The artist thoroughly explain the procedure and genuinely like what they are doing. Justin did my artwork. He gave me exactly what I wanted, where I wanted it. I had gone with my son just to hang out and watch. When I saw how clean the location is, and I watched & witnessed Justins work on my sons tattoo, I decided, on the spur of the moment, that it was time for my first tattoo! My son Jack decided to treat me for my 52 birthday which was just days away. This really was one of the best gifts I have ever been given!I am already planning my next 2 visits!

I came across Revolver while doing my homework on the shops in my area. I decided to visit and check the shop out. I spoke with Jess, explained what I wanted and she took the time to explain my options and what would and wouldnt work for my piece. The place was super clean and everyone is really friendly. Going back for another piece in January. After Jess did my tattoo, my wife ended up going a couple of weeks later and had the same great experience. Id highly recommend Jess and while I dont know the work of the other artists at Revolver, Im sure they are just as great and friendly as Jess was with me. Dominick - S. Brunswick, NJ
