This is by far the best grocery store in South Jersey. Years ago when there were only a couple Shop-rites my wife and I would go only for their can can sales as we did not like the crowded aisles with food all over the place making it hard to get around. They were also what seemed to be rather dirty but that might have been because of the older buildings they were in. This store however has given me reason to return to Shop-rite for most of my shopping needs although this is just about the only one I will shop in unless they are out of a sale item that I really want to get and I can find it in Bridgeton. The store in not so big that there are towers of product waiting to fall on you or give you a feeling of being trapped in but it is big enough to carry everything you would need. I have not yet had any problems with any of the employees or management and have only had good interaction with all of them. I cant remember his name but I think it is Matthew in the evenings that has been helpful and Michele in the mornings. Megan has been excellent when it comes to the self checkout which is an aisle I like to use when only grabbing a few things but all the cashiers I have used have been quite proficient in their customer service qualities.

I love my local shoprite not so much for the selection but definitely for the EMPLOYEES, in particular..Marion & Frank. Marion is always pleasant, fun and upbeat not to mention super fast-and she can pack your groceries like no ones business, she packs a bag the way it should be...start with a paper bag placed inside the yellow plastic bags, it makes for very easy handling! I cannot tell you how many times Ive come out of this shoprite and heavy cans and even glass have broken through the plastic and landed in my driveway either crushed or broken. I think it should be a policy that all checkout people bag the groceries the way she does! Frank is always strolling the aisles hard at work and hes ALWAYS eager to help find a product and if its not on the shelf, hell make sure its there for me the next time I shop...so thank you to the employees who make the dreaded task of food shopping a very pleasant one indeed!!!

One day I was shopping there and I overheard the store manger (I believe his name is Eric) yelling at one of the employees. I was shocked...right in front of customers there was the store manager being disrespectful to his staff. So I asked some of the other employees what is it like to work there? They told me that management is rude, disrespectful to their staff. They make rules that are against U.S. labor laws. They do not offer the same benefits as other Shoprites in the area. I was appalled by what I herd. You think in they 21st Century we still have people being treated this poorly by employers. I will never go to this store again and I recommend that anyone else do not patronize this store. If you shop here this is what your encouraging.

Its small enough with a great selection. Their deli selection is great. Their cheese selection is great for a non-specialty cheese-shop and way better than other local supermarkets. Their people who give out samples actually learn your name and call you over when they see you (I think thats Phyllis and Lou). All the employees are friendly and jump up from whatever they are doing to help you - even when you say "Just tell me where it is and Ill find it", they still insist on helping you find the item(s) you need. And one of their managers there - Michelle, practically lives there and I hear her calling every customer shes around by name. Its actually fun to shop there. Can you say that about your supermarket? I can!

check expiration dates on everything. Fruit, vegetables(spinach, eww!) guacamole ( better use all four containers by yesterday) frozen pizza (dang, I would have eaten that a month ago before it expired), frozen vegetables, "fresh" desserts, RAW MEAT (not organic anymore if it is expired), milk, yogurt, candy bars, sodas, chips. All things I bought on my last visit that expired before or on the date of purchase The store is not busy, probably not selling enough to have to restock things. Shame that it is the only gig in town, not worth my family getting sick again over their inept management if inventory.

This store goes above and beyond. Almost everyone working there appears to enjoy their job and try very hard to make the customer experience the best it can be. This store is a bit smaller than the Glassboro store which is equally close to my house. They do keep a slightly higher end selection of produce especially organic and specialty items. This store is ultra clean and upgraded to the gills (they have lanehawks in every checkout lane) and the folks are trained well. It is a pleasure to shop here. I would shop here over Whole Foods or Harris Teeter any day of the week.

They filled a prescription with only enough pills to take one a day when the label clearly states take three times a day! Now theyre accusing me of taking out the other pills. Also, I tried to return Humalog insulin after I realized the price was too high. The pregnant pharmacist felt the bottles through the boxes and told me they werent refrigerated, so I could not return them!!! I only live 3 miles away and it is cold outside, so she was clearly wrong. She just likes being the boss but doesnt have the brains to do her job right.

In the 25 years that I have been grocery shopping, I have never been as happy to shop as I have been at this store. This store is perfect. Not too small, not too big. Has everything I need. Staff is very nice and cashiers are very nice. There a PNC bank branch in the store which make is easier as well. I love this store. its out of my way a little, but worth the time getting there.

What can I say? Its the only big store close by, but we are more than happy with it. In the summer months, we usually get produce from nearby farm stands, but other than that our shopping is done here. The bakery is outstanding. Selection of meats and produce is always adequate. Nice selection of organic produce and other items. We are happy to have a store of this quality so close.

Today, I purchased a pre cooked Oven Stuffer chicken. I dont know who is responsible for roasting these things, but I can tell you that I am not happy. The chicken was cooked beyond recognition. It reminded me of the Turkey in the movie, Christmas Vacation. The biggest problem is that the Roasting person was aware of it when it was packaged for sale. This is unacceptable.

They have pretty much everything that you could ask for from a grocery store, and the employees are awesome. I feel that it is overpriced, however it is the only grocery store within a reasonable distance from my home. They claim to have local produce, but I prefer to buy my fresh produce from farmers markets in the summer. I buy everything else from here though.
