INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM. That is what Giant Food Stores practices. For the Third time in as many weeks came home and chopped into an Onion only to find that it was rotten. The Lansdowne Store is the closest big grocery store to West Philadelphia a primarily African American Community. When I compare my experience there vs. say a story in the wealthy suburbs, like Glen Mills, PA the cleanliness of the stores are markedly different. The Lansdowne store is filthy to the point of being a public health risk. The shelves that hold the eggs are covered in residue of broken egg yolks (can you say SALMONELLA). The MEAT and Dairy are always almost out of date. The produce is always nearly rotten or very nearly on the way to being so. I squeezed an avocado to check for freshness and it exploded-ed black OOZE in my hand. It was literally LIQUEFIED. The entire box of Avocados was like that. It was not an isolated incident. It happened to me twice in as many shopping trips. The Produce Manager should be FIRED. I guess with the BOTTOM DOLLAR closed they could care less about customer service. It is the only grocery store in walking distance, the Save-A-Lot somehow manages to be even worse than Giant. Why does GIANT Food Stores think it is okay to treat its African American client base like garbage? You want to know what is especially EVIL? Even though it serves people from a lower economic back ground they actually charge MORE at the GIANT store in Lansdowne, than compared to the Glen Mills store. Some one should start a class action lawsuit against these guys.

Terrible customer service at the gas station here. The man in the booth is fat & lazy. He got pissed off that I asked his lazy ass to come out the booth and help me with the gas pump. He was so mad he had to get out his seat. He never made it to my pump. He rudely told me I dont what im doing and have me instructions without helping me. He went right back in the booth. I left and will glady give my service to someone more willing to help. I couldnt even get his name but the gentlemen working on June 13th around 7pm is totally a loser and should be fired!!! Poor employee representing your company Giant!

My first visit and they have a nice and big inventory selection. Only issue is they kill the lights and the point of being 24/7 supermarket is that people show up any and everytime of the day and night. Stock crew was very helpful and polite. They actual were better mannered than the cashier manning the self check out area. #checkthat. Basically either get motion sensor lights or keep the lights on in every aisle. Thank you much.

The store has a pretty decent produce section with a variety of vegetables and fruits. The store carries a nice selection of foods including organic, vegetarian, and international cuisine. Items are typically on sale. This store has a gas station. If you have a rewards card you may use it to receive discounts on gas. The store is clean. One con is spotty customer service with cashiers and bakery assistants.

The only positive thing I can say that its convenient. Depending on the time of day it can be a traffic nightmare. The customer service is horrible, except for the pharmacy, and the quality of the produce and selection is inconsistent. I expect better from the Giant Brand, there are better Giants in the area if youre looking for fresh produce and a better variety.

Not the greatest selection, but it is convenient. The one in Clifton Heights/Aldan is much better with a larger organic and bulk section, plus they do not have security guards. I am guessing that means that this one has a problem with people walking off without paying for the food. It is still a nice supermarket, just not one that I prefer to go to often.

This used to be the most convenient grocery store to go to for us, but we only go here now when other stores are closed. It has steadily declined since Giant merged with Stop and Shop. There were three flies in the muffin case walking all over the muffins this morning when we went in. The store is always dirty and seems like the management has given up.

While this store is local and convenient and the service is fine, the produce, pricing and overall cleanliness needs great improvement. The two closest Giants to this one Clifton Heights and Springfield are, unfortunately so much better when it comes to these. I hope these reviews catches the right eye and a change results.

Decent selection and helpful staff. Customer service people are a bit ambivalent but they always help you as needed. There have been a few items I couldnt find but those were more specialty stuff. Every time Ive asked an employee where I could find anything, theyve been able to accurately point me to the correct aisle.

I called and asked policy on check writing. I got procedure. Came in store and confirmed with customer service. Got to register and ending up writing three checks. They cashed check within 48 hours went back and they gave us a new set of policies. So it seems like nobody knows anything.

This is a wonderful location. It has a huge selection of items, always clean, always has the advertised specials in stock and is conveniently located near other retail stores. It also has a gas station which offers the discount with your store purchases.

Poor customer service, lanes always packed and the easy scan is never open in the morning. Only thing good about this place is the gas station. I only go in here to pick up a few items. Will never waste my time to do all of My grocery shopping

We went to just grab some meat and Courtney told us how the ground Turkey was 2 for $5.00, and then called a manager to our cashier to assist with making sure it rang up for the right price. Courtney is AWESOME, and the GIANT is clean.

Nice store. Well stocked. The self check out sometimes has a machine down but overall its a Giant food store. Its like all the others. The gas station is handy though. After shopping you can gas up your car and save a couple of bucks.

Saw expired cheese twice in the last 2 weeks. Make sure to check the expiration dates before buying anything. I hope Giant understands selling expired products could cause food poisoning and cares about the safty of their customers .

Love this market. Always clean. Just got a revamp. Looks good. Wished that they didnt change their store hours from 24 hours to closing @11 pm. I loved shopping when I got off work. Now have to rush or wait for the weekend.

The Giant food store where I shop leaves a lot to be desired as far as customer service and pricing. The only reason Im giving it to Stars instead of one is because the cashier at the checkout line was very pleasant.

Very big supermarket, not much organic products to choose from but large variety of spices to choose from that you cant find elsewhere. Employees are helpful if you need to find an item.
