Ive been going to this dealership for 5 years to service my 91 Legacy and normally they are good. I had front brakes done 18 months ago. Went to Costco recently to have new tires put on, and was alerted by their tech that whoever had last touched the lugnuts on the front drivers-side had forced two of them onto the studs and damaged them, thus only 3 were really holding my wheel on (weve had tires put on by Costo on two other vehicles without a problem like this ever occurring). Liberty were the last ones to touch the front wheels, so I went there and walked through the entire timeline of events with them. I had already purchased two new studs and asked if they would install them for me, to which the technician refused. I walked him out to my car to show him the damage, and he proceeded to argue with me over what I was saying, and told me to talk to the Service Manager. The Service Manager, while a bit more tactful nonetheless refused to accept responsibility for the service or even offer to do the service at a discount. He then proceeded to argue with my father, and dismiss him out of hand. My father was a licensed mechanic and in the automotive service industry for OVER THIRTEEN YEARS. The Service Manager claimed the job would take almost an hour and thus cost ~$100, all for a simple pop in/out of studs. Since I had to get the issued resolved I agreed to the service, but went to the owners son (who is a manager) to discuss my dismay at the customer service I had experienced. While polite, and attentive, he evidently did not get any kind of concession out the the Service Manager. I seriously may never return to these guys again. They used to be one of the only places to go, but now theres Ramsey, Town, Wayne, and Bill Kolb Jr. to compete with. Its their loss because I was planning on buying an Impreza from them next year.

If you want to deal with rude and unprofessional management, then this is the dealer for you. Went back to the dealer to finalize a purchase on a used Jeep Grand Cherokee, the manager and salesman tried to pull a fast one buy increasing the price that we negotiated by $300. I walked out, not because $300 is alot of money, but because that is not the way to do business. This is a small dealership in the middle of no where, I understand that this is what they need to do to make money since they dont do volume. The sad part is that the owner Rick DeSilva most likely doesnt know the type of scum that works for him. If you google him you will see he is the chairman of the American Internation Automobile Dealers Association. Last night when I went into the dealership at 7pm the sales manager was behind the computer reading the sports news, he didnt acknowledge me for a good 30 seconds then without looking at me he asked "what do you need?" as if I was bothering his reading. Wish I know his name, but the sales manager is a bald man in his 60s with an attitude. Cars are dime a dozen, you can find the car you need for the price you want anywhere. If they want to act like they are the only dealership in the world, then its there loss. Im going to post this on every review I find and subaru forum, I dont want other people to be victims.

Bought a certified used car from the dealership in October of 2013. As soon as I drove it off the lot there was a shimmy in the front end. I have brought the car in 4 times about it and the story always changes. At first it was a bent wheel which was not covered under the warranty. I dealt with it by having the tires balanced to minimize since I could not replace the wheel. After the car was out of the factory warranty I brought it back in because the shimmy got a lot worse and it was getting almost undriveable especially when I was braking. All of a sudden it was the brakes that were bad and no mention of a bent wheel. Pretty convenient that all of a sudden the problem changed to something that could have been dealt with while the car was under warranty, the service tech even told me so. The next time I brought it in I was told that there was a hole in the tire and that the deflation was causing the shimmy, completely understandable. Surprise, when I had the flat repaired and the tires rotated there was still an issue. I just got off the phone trying to get the car in again to be looked at for the exact same problem and a loaner was over a week out. I would figure after having the car in for the same problem that they can not fix they would be more accommodating.

First of all, I don’t write a review for anything, not for my favorite place to eat, for nothing, but I had to write a review for Liberty Subaru in Emerson because I really had such an amazing experience. After a frustrating week of getting extremely high offers with no budging, not getting approved, and going through lot of hassle at other dealerships, I was so relieved to walk into Liberty Subaru and walk away only a couple hours after with even a better car than the one I originally intended to buy. Mr. Dan Cohen, Rob, and Kevin were so amazing at giving me a low offer right from the start, and getting me approved for an auto loan when I thought it wasn’t possible for me to get one through them. They were knowledgeable and precise while being honest, friendly, and quick. It was so nice to just sit back and let them do all the work as they walked me through the process with all the information I needed. I felt completely at ease and I felt like I was in good hands through the entire process. I really wish I would have started at Liberty Subaru, as it would have saved me a ton of headache and hassle. I am sure I will be a customer at Liberty Subaru for a long time. They are the paradigm what a dealership and car buying experience should be like.

Liberty Subaru’s internet sales manager Dan Meola made my 2014 BRZ purchase as easy as possible. After researching dealerships in the NYC area, I found that all of them had overwhelmingly bad customer reviews and reputations. So I looked for dealerships further out and found Liberty Subaru who had much happier customers. Liberty also had the most selection of BRZ’s in their inventory. Using Liberty’s inventory website I submitted an inquiry for an internet quote on a WR Blue BRZ. Dan responded, quickly, offering me a great discount off of MSRP that other area dealers would not beat. So the next day, I pulled the trigger to purchase the car. from Liberty Dan answered all my email and phone questions over the next few days. The only fees they charge are a $295 doc fee and a required NJ state tire fee $7.50. That’s it! I had already found my own financing and had no trade-in, so a week later, I was picking up my new car at Liberty’s lot. Dan gave me time to inspect it and to answer all my questions and concerns. The car was flawless, even after being in the showroom, where scratches and dents can occur. He said they had detailed it for delivery - Nice! I definitely recommend Liberty Subaru and Dan for all your Subaru purchases.
