ent here today after reading all the horrible reviews. Seriously couldnt believe that any of them were true and decided to give the store a chance. I collect retro video games (as does my friend who came with me) and I was disgusted by the prices. Not just for the games, but for the systems as well. It also seemed like everything else in the store was relatively overpriced. Its shocking because you walk into the place and youre overwhelmed by the sheer volume of whats there. The inventory is poorly displayed (rows behind rows of products). Id say that the owner overcharged by at least 5000% on every game I looked at. $30 for a sports title that values at $1 or less. Want Madden 2005? He has it! But thatll cost ya $40! I think the most absurd thing was a Sega Genesis system (with no wires or controllers) for $70. I doubt the owner paid even close to that for the system. If he did then I should bring all my duplicates there to sell! I was also disappointed with the fact that the owner didnt say one word to us aside from "Buy 3 games get 1 free." That would be a great deal if they were reasonably priced. But paying $60 for three games to get another game that retails at $5 isnt worth it. In fact he seemed more interested in watching "Destination Truth" then helping us. It amazing to me that there was such a large volume of games there. If the prices were reasonable he wouldnt be sitting on so many games that arent selling. This place is a video game collectors dream store but with those prices its more like a nightmare. Having thousands upon thousands of games priced at no less than $5 sitting around and not being sold isnt paying the bills. If the prices were lower I wouldve walked away with 40 or more games today. But until that changes I will never go there again. And I would highly recommend that you stay away. Also, in case the owner reads this, I would recommend you research how much games and systems actually go for. Theres tons of websites online dedicated to video game collecting that show the prices of the games today. Dont just go by ebay prices or god knows what other way you came up with the prices. Youre doing more harm then good. Also, if you dont want to do this yourself, and since you had a sign that said "Help Wanted" you should consider hiring someone doing it for you. With the inventory you have and reasonable prices you could ridiculous amounts of profit by lowering prices. Trust me. No one will buy games at those prices. Charge more for the gems and less for the crappy games. Its as easy as that. No one will pay more than $7 for Super Mario/Duck Hunt or more than $10 for a sports title that they can get at Gamestop or practically anywhere else for half that. TL;DR Reviews are true. Horrendously overpriced. Amazing amount of volume in terms of products that will never be sold.

I really want to like this place. I do - its like an indoor flea market for anyone interested in movies, music or games. But the problem is the prices. Theyre just way too high. Its one thing to reference eBay for prices when trying to sell an item. But thats not a price guide. You must take into account the condition of the item, the rarity (if any), and the value of the item. I believe this is the same store that used to be located in the Route 516 Flea Market which moved to a location on Rt. 18 near the bagel store, and has now moved to Edison. Each store had the same inventory of items and the same owner. He seems to be a bit on edge, not exactly what youd call customer friendly. Ive given this place a chance at their previous locations, and now this one, but I give up. I know you cant compete directly with Amazon or eBay, but you dont have to - many stores do fine selling for slightly higher prices than online stores. But simply terribly overcharging for almost everything is simply not going to work. You need to have someone research what the products are worth, maybe then you can adjust your prices. I dont know if you purchased your entire inventory at a very inflated price and are trying to sell it all to make back what you put into it, but thats what it seems like.Your store would be wonderful to go to if there was a fair and balanced price for your items. The Princeton Record Exchange and Digital Press VideoGames are WONDERFUL, SHINING examples of great INDEPENDENT stores that have fair prices with a large inventory of various items. If one day your store transforms into something like that maybe Ill visit again. But until then I wont be returning. Buyer beware!

The downright worst video game shop Ive ever been to. From the outside it looks alright, hell even from the inside its got an old school pack rat/retro vibe. You think to yourself that a place like this has GOT to have a few hidden gems.......well.....looks can be very deceiving. Anything nice you find after hunting through heaps and heaps of crap will be enter limbo when you walk up to the counter. It suddenly goes from a logical "Hey the sticker price is overpriced but wtf, I came this far" to a hostile one-sided terrorist negotiation. Forget about leaving with your wallet intact, their prices are far, far away from reality. Games I saw online in near mint condition for $5-10 were retailing here for $30-50. Noticing a game I wanted I asked to see a copy in person so he handed me one so tattered, beaten, and broken in that I didnt know if I was still looking at a cartridge or something mutated that wanted at some point in its sad life to resemble a game. Asking him about the five other pristine looking copies in the window behind him, imagine my surprise to find out they were ALL reserved and unavailable! The employee was just a doll. Pushy, overbearing, ill mannered, short tempered, and wholly unpleasant. These guys really go all out. The whole experience was closer to getting mugged at gunpoint and forced me to redefine what I thought the worst possible shopping experience for my favorite things in the world could be. Thank you Swap for setting a new standard of low.

"PLEASE! listen to your customers, negative feedback could help improve your business" My first time here was very disapponthing, the place is a complete mess, you cant even walk around to look for something and the prices, the PRICES I mean come on! I found a Gamecube controller under a lot garbage, he ask $35 for it because was a different color, really?! if the item is so special why you have it with useless stuff in the first place. You going to spend a lot time digging through garbage and when you finally find something worth it he is going to overprice it, you going to put back into the garbage and the loop will continue all over again with a different costumer. I bought a charger for a nintendo ds lite, when I got home I found out was the wrong one, and I know I can go back and ask for exchange, but 40min driving to this place is not worth it. While I was there an angry customer came back to fight with the owner, and I know customers sometimes are a pain but that tells a lot about your service. If you want to sell like eBay I suggest you close the store and open your own ebay account, you will make more profit saving on rent and payroll.
