The man who manages or owns this business is in need of serious professional help. Both times I had attempted to shop here, after moving to the area were appalling experiences. The first time, I was the unfortunate witness of this individual, in the middle of a tirade at the young girl who worked at the register. She looked like she was going to cry. I wanted to assure her that whatever extra spending money she was making wasnt worth the aggravation. The second time, I was shopping for some produce, and I could hear what sounded like the same mans voice, but I couldnt tell where it was coming from. The voice was saying, "Its okay, we are friends. You can give me a hug." Then silence for a few seconds. "Oh, that feels sooo much better." followed in a softer voice. 45 seconds later, I could then hear footsteps running down the stairs and a girl of about 15 with her face bright red and very confused look on her face almost collided with me. As a woman with two young girls, I would prefer to go out of my way to Whole Foods, Trader Joes or The Health Shoppe in Morristown, at least I wont be an unwitting witness to such horrible moments. I encourage others to do the same.

Its not bad and they do have some unique food - nice organic fruits and vegetables, BUT you can buy most of the same items at Trader Joes (Florham Park) or Whole Foods (Madison) much cheaper - I mean the exact same items, in some cases, for more than a $1.00 less and thats saying a lot if Whole Foods is cheaper ...and honestly the staff is not all that friendly. Traders and Whole Foods are much friendlier. Im not totally trashing the place, its nice to know stores like that are trying. They just need to take it down a notch - prices and tude.

Not sure why one of the reviewers gave Grassroots low marks. I have been going there for years and have found it to be one of the best health food stores and values around. I think its great. The food is great and so are the products they carry. I think their organic produce is second to none. I love their deli too; you can sit and eat a nice meal while your there. I would highly recommend Grassroots Natural Market to those seeking hard to find items too. Kevin R. Denville, NJ

i have lived in the area for a little over a year, and i hit the jackpot w/grassroots. whole foods is too far for me to go to all the time, and as a vegan its important for me to have plenty of options. yes, it is a little more than whole foods, but HELLO, its not a huge chain. i have had nothing but helpful customer service throughout the store, so i dont know where "karen" pulled that one from. it is a great community store.

I have been going to Grassroots for years. I am there pretty much everyday for coffee and lunch. I like this store because it is local owned the staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the quality of the prepared food is very good. I also buy my vitamins here as well since I can often take advantage of a sale and they carry all the top quality brands that I use.

Went here for a deli sandwich, was thoroughly disappointed. The ingredients were dry and tasted like they were left out for a day and the bread was stale. The service was also horrible and everything was ridiculously overpriced. Seems like the type of place thats trying to green-wash their way to a quick buck without giving a rip about the customers experience.

....the best gluten-free / dairy free selection Ive seen......AND they have a GREAT fresh natural foods hot food section with fantastic, freshly cooked dishes. The best fresh foods/gluten dairy free selection and great organic, fresh food, coffees, and teas....

Good shop for fresh veggies, fruits and other staff. Place is very clean. Staff is friendly. They have good options for lunch. Prices are little high. They should repeat some preparations which are good but they are only available at some days.

Love this place as staff is available to help and thier food is always fresh. Its a very cozy local organic store and gives me a feel if a mini organic indoor farmers market in the winter time. They have various varieties of tasty organic foods.

First time there Double charged me on a purchase of $200, so they have 400. They blamed it on their computer crashing. So Im still waiting on my refund of 200. Do not recommend at all. Cheaper alternatives somewhere else.

I just love shopping there, they have what I need, and the staff is so helpful and even know me by name now! I couldnt find this organic granola i really like and they went out of their way to order it for me!

Nice produce selection, also the juice bar is nice. But the vegetables and meat used in the deli salads are not organic unless stated on the sign which I found odd.

Lots of really fun and interesting vegan options. If you havent had it before, I highly recommend the chao vegan cheese, it is incredible.
