Beware of Jamilet the cashier from Hell! I am a manager for Hertz Corp. For the NjMetro area and also disabled due to a heavy vehicle accident and I arrived early into the first week of the year with a light grocery list on hand, accompanied by my sibling for help. I often shop at Aldis in this particular location for their fresh produce and specialty products during the morning hours to avoid the rush hour volume. I find it comfortable shopping in the clean, sanitary and orderly rows of food items that make your store remarkable. I was deeply concerned as the stroll went on that there was alot of discarded produce and liquids strewn across the aisles, I understand keeping a store presentable with limited staff is expected during holiday season but it should not be accepted. I believed that overlooking the dissaray Not this time, since my recent disablity Ive been limited to carrying a small amount of weight which is why I was accompanied on my shopping runs. My sibling had to leave my side on the checkout aisle. This was when my experience turned for the worst in the most extreme levels. The cashier on service never missed an opportunity to disparge at my presence. Even being blatenlty disrespectful when I acknowledged my disability to her for the reason politely asking for assistance on carrying the loaded items, I wouldve expected indifference but was met with crude disdain as she barked the total balance in a spiteful manner. She shoved my purchases into the incoming direction of the counter almost making the box tip over my lower body. Her uncooperation towards a disabled human being speaks volumes to the type of character Aldis accepts into their team. I noticed there was no manager present otherwise her obvious behavior would have been flagged. I proceeded to take photographic evidence of the experience. At this point the cashier began to come towards me in a hostile tone, I calmly explained the purpose of my actions and even informed the manager once she arrived and did manage to diffuse the situation from further unfurther unprofessionalism. Hopefully my experience can resonate with someone in management to bring awareness to the issue. With 3 other supermarkets in less than a mile radius from my location our selection for better markets are choice. Whether or not I will be returning to Aldi depends entirely on corporate response but I will be documenting any further dubious service ethics and quality issues. A person should never feel mistreated when they are giving an establishment buisness and the cashier Jamilet must be informed of her disservice to both company and consumer

My family has been shopping at Aldi for years...from Canton Ohio, to NYC...all locations. Please be more selective in your staffing. The was a heavy set, black or mixed female...curly wavy hair...long story short, we approached the register, she began scanning the items... Then requested that my wife swipe her card...WHILE SHE IS STILL SCANNING OUR ITEMS! We refused, because there has to be a total...anyway she got upset and began manipulating the register everytime my wife would attempt to process payment so that she would have to swipe repeatedly! Plese stop hiring the ghetto blacks and ghetto hispanics...they make minorities look bad with their stealing, lack of professionalism, and hoochie mama mentalities. There are blacks and latinos with culturing out there... But there is nothing but thieves and tricksters in the ghetto.

Ok I have been going to this Aldis since I moved to Newark. I thought my experience would be like my beloved Aldis I left in Brooklyn. Sad to say this Aldis is not that great. They barely have any of the food your looking for. The frozen fish is a mess as well as the frozen dessert. The produce are mushy or smelling there is mold on some of the stuff. Also I see there is a high turnover of workers there. Aldis employees are there at 5 am to pack out the store for 9am this store look like nothing is done. You are always asking for items to hear "sorry we dont have that". I really am thinking of finding a different Aldis to go to. I hope they can fix things there or hire reliable people who truly care. I understand the work is hard labor but you knew that when you started working there.

I just cant believe how the women at the front of the store, attending the checkout line are so rude! They are ruining my shopping experience. They are very nasty and they are very presumptuous! They command rather than ask for help politely from their customers. I was told to do something for one of them and I didnt get asked politely! I was just told to do something a certain way! Like cattle on a ranch! How rude! Im a person not an animal. Please Aldi Reps and Owners help me keep doing business with you! Thank you! PS. There are two women working in the front of the store. One is heavy set and she is of mixed race. She almost stole my quarter that I used to get access to my shopping cart and the other one is Aminah. Black young woman of small size. She is very nasty and rude!

I was so excited for this store to open, as I used to live near one and loved it. At this location, however, the prices fluctuate wildly. Sometimes its half of the price of the nearby Stop n Shop and sometimes its exactly the same. Definitely not ideal for budgeting. When I asked why I was told "It just changes week to week." Also, they dont have enough cashiers at peak hours. Even at off peak hours they usually only have one. Lastly, I have gotten moldy bread there twice and didnt see it until the bread was out of the package. Overall, not the best Aldi.

Pretty good place to shop on a budget. Most national brands arent probably going to be found here. However, thats where your savings are because brand named products cost more. So the prices are fare to great. Dont expect to find all one stop shopping products. No beauty products, pet food, and certain things your used to finding in Nationwide supermarket chains. Its worth the trip and bring your own bags. Pretty great prices.

Great place to shop. Many options but not overwhelmingly. The prices are fair. The lines are long, but move pretty quickly. The workers seem friendly but rushed & on edge quite a bit though. Management should consider hiring additional staff to take some of the load off. I shop there at minimum twice per week and there is usually only 1 or 2 lanes open.

Always check your receipt at this branch. 2 of the 5 times Ive been here, I have been overcharged for something. The last time I noticed once I got home but when I returned to the store a couple months later, (was very busy and this store is not in my direct neighborhood ) they told me they never sold the item for the price I saw.

Oh my gosh this location is really bad. They dont carry the usual staples that other Aldis have available- like where is the hot chocolate? There is usually a line, but the most annoying part of visiting this store is the ladies cashing you out are very rude, not smart at all on retail etiquette. Like where are your manners?

I absolutely love this store! Clean and organized. Much cheaper than a regular supermarket. Their brands products are just as good if not better than the major brand names. Bring a quarter for the shopping carts and bring bags to pack up your items. Checkout lane is the fastest I have ever experienced. Really great store!
