Truly I have no idea why there exists any ill will towards this store. I have been going to Berkeley Heights quaint liquor store, Berkeley Wine Company, since it first opened. At first, a nice sign and a new building made me hopeful that the place would be better run than the store once in its place (a different liquor store with subpar ownership). I walked in and was immediately bewildered by the stores cleanliness, service, and selection. I returned to the store early and often and was never disappointed by what I saw. Even in the rare chance that I couldnt find what I was looking for, the managers offered to order it for me and deliver it to me free of charge. Mind you this was a new store and a first time liquor store owner (according to all accounts). Since then, I still go in all the time in search of everything: fine wines, gourmet cheeses, chocolate truffles, microbrew and imported beers, in addition to some single malts. The wine manager, David, is easily the most knowledgable -- and probably the most reputable -- store manager I have ever met. As the stores slogan suggests, he is an uncompromising wine source. No matter how much (or little) Im willing to spend, he finds me a great value buy. The customer service is top notch, giving the customer an unmatched shopping experience. There are tasting machines that are always renewed with tasty wines of all kinds. In addition, there are often independent salespeople in store offering various wines and cheeses for customers to try. They now do house deliveries as well for relatively inexpensive fares. Additionally, if there is ever anything that they do not have and is locatable, the incredibly helpful staff will order it for you at rush delivery and will call you right away when it is stock. They once offered to deliver it to my house for free even. Truly an unmatched experience in that store. To me, the beer selection is the forte of the store. Everything from Dundee Honey Brown to Ommegang to Leinenkugels is sold there and priced competitively. No store in the area offers anything close to the variety that Berkeley Wine displays on a daily basis. The prices are good, the cheeses are delicious, and the service is unmatched. Consider this happy shopper a lifetime customer at Berkeley Wine Company.

This place is small and its kind of hard to find things in here. Plus the people that work there never ask if you need any help. One of the last times I went my friend got 3 little mini seltzers that were suppose to be .99 and the guy tried to charge her $99 a piece! The only reason I go here is because its right by my bfs house so its convenient.

I always have a great experience when I go here. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They truly know their wines, liquors, and ect. Highly recommend, the prices are really great as well.
