Im a hooker ! Not the kind that stands on the street corner , but the kind that swings a mean crochet hook. Since I specialize in custom orders , I frequently look for new and exciting yarns. This Michaels store is about 40 miles from my home . After finding a large selection of yarns on their website I thought it would be time to visit the store . What a disappointment . The yarn section is tucked into a corner at the back of the store . The selection is very small . I was looking for sock yarn, but could not find any. Different kinds of yarn were tossed into the same bin making it hard to find anything . There were only two kinds of specialty yarn, both of which are available at a mass retailer for less. A certain size crochet hook was only available in a set of hooks instead of as a single item. I could not find a sales associate to assist me. The checkout was okay. I had a coupon that was scanned off my phone without a problem . To be fair - I concentrated on the yarn department in this store . While I briefly glanced at other craft items, I could not give a review about the quality or selection of the other items.

Wide variety of craft supplies, beads and notions, picture frames, wedding and home decor, hobby items and some toys, as well as scrap booking supplies. There is always a good coupon to use for items.

I could drop thousands of dollars in this store ! Its clean with friendly staff. Maybe its just me but I feel like any Michaels is kinda pricey.
