I have shopped here since it opened. You dont always get what you pay for. Whole Foods is a business, and they have stock holders and employers to pay. As Such what was once a co-op itself has become an attempt to straddle the line. Whole foods sells more and more conventionally grown ie not organic foods each day. They try to do thier best by educating you with little tags, or color coded ratings systems, but the reality of it is that the food you buy here is in many cases marginally better than the local grocer. They are trying to "buy local" and to get organic, and yet they admit it is not possible in scale. so until the food chain evolves they will settle to stay in business and attept to sell you the best they can. They do in many cases offer a superior product, buy if you look at the whole of the store, it is more about free choice than offering only the best. That Chicken you paid 2.00 more for than the one at wal-mart may not be as bad, but it is not good. Thier own ratings system shows you so. So speaking about affording food, is well foolish. You paid for an unhealhty chicken that was certified by the US govt. Last I checked, they dont do a whole lot of good checking anything, led alone the practices of commercial farmers. I get some stuff here, and the rest straight from the farm. I think they are better than many alternatives, and are slipping away from the mission that made them what they are today. In thier defence, they cannot legally sell much of the food I get from the farm. The lawyers of the Trucking companies, Large Agribusiness companies like monsanto and others have ensured and inefficient system the promotes thier wealth above our health. If you donate more to your politician, maybe he will repeal some of the bullshit acts and allow us to get real food again. It used to farmers and seasonal help. Now "seasonal help" is a multi-national affair with "migrant (read mexican) workers who are willing to take less than what most americans feel is a living wage 10.00 an hour anyone...?. So you talk about the price of your food, and how much better it is, and ask did I help america grow stronger with this? If you have money to burn, drive to the farm itself and get it pure, but this will require you to do your research and eat seasonally. Start with the movies Food Inc and Farmegeddon, make sure to read Onmivores Dilemma too, it details where that chicken came from. Yeah, someone actually wanted to know where "whole foods got the whole food" I think you will see why Matthew disagrees with you. PS. This is America, if you dont like the first amendment, you can move to a country who doesnt have it. I hear the taliban is recruiting...

I bet you dont think of wedding flowers when you think of Whole Foods, but thats exactly where we got ours! As a bride on a budget and mostly DIY, Whole Foods was a great option that offers reasonably priced flowers (MUCH cheaper than a typical florist for weddings) and the flowers are sourced locally from ethical trade, earth friendly farming. Amber M. took care of us from beginning to end, by showing us a variety of flowers, costs, showing us samples, and ordering. Everything turned out exactly like we hoped! One downfall of using them vs. a traditional florist is that you may not be able to get the specific flower you want, but I showed her inspiration pictures and she kept the aesthetic I wanted with what they had available. It turned out beautifully as we wanted for our wedding, but also affordable. Go see Amber M. at Whole Foods Town & Country -- shell take care of you :-)

The staff at this Whole Foods is awesome. Ive been trying to hunt down a specific line of tea by a certain brand, but didnt want to drive all over St. Louis to find which locations carry it. In my experience, calling a store to ask about an item usually annoys the staff, who set the phone down for a few minutes before saying the store doesnt carry the item (then sometimes you later end up seeing it at the store.) When I called this Whole Foods location, Mackenzie was super nice, not only confirming that they do carry the tea, but telling me all the flavors they have as well. Its rare to smile after talking with a customer service rep instead of feeling like an imposition. Will definitely be shopping at this Whole Foods!

The daily specials on prepared food are printed in bold letters but the days are in yellow. I bought two pieces of pizza last night for $4, at checkout they were $5. Checker confirmed what I read as another in store price ad that whole pizza was 8.00--which it was not last night. The pizza and other help behind the counter in that section were uninterested in selling pizza to me, although they appeared inefficient, not deluged with business. The salad attendant was in the way and the salad bar was unappetizing. This was at 6 pm. on a Friday night. It will be a long time before I return to this store. There are too many stores, including the Brentwood one, doing a better job than your help.

This location is excellent, they have a very extensive inventory of products. Every specialty item is available. Unique offerings such as olive bar, gelato stand, artisan pizzeria area, and sushi bar make this place exceptional. The staff has always been welcoming and cordial to me. This store has everything to accomodate you whether you are on a vegan diet or a standard diet. Often times the pricing ensures the social, moral, and political consequences of business are held sacred and the indigenous peoples are not mistreated. I highly recommend this location!

Ugh, I visited the new Whole Foods Store in Town & Country: overpriced organic foods & peculiar pricing schemes & a staff who is friendly in fear of the lash (i.e., losing their jobs). Every Whole Foods is essentially the same: an attempt to corner the market, to establish a monopoly on the organic-food market and to drive local farmers markets & organic co-ops out of business. Whole Foods uses some loss-leader items & bunches of free samples to lure customers from local markets, but its akin to a dealer letting you have the first dose of heroin for free.

This is the largest Whole Foods in the St. Louis metropolitan area. So large that I call it the cathedral of Whole Foods. It is an exceptional grocery store and my go to for anything relatively fancy or out of the ordinary that I know I wouldnt find at any of the international grocery stores I frequent. The salad bar is fantastic along with the hot bar, the staff is friendly, the produce section immaculate, the cafe area big enough to hold a court in. Its Whole Foods though, so expect to leave with considerably less in your pocket than when you entered.

Great service, atmosphere, products, variety and value. If youve shopped at the store in Brentwood try this location. Want assistance and expertise from certified professionals who have time pay attention to you? Want a larger and less cramped Whole Foods with easier parking than the others in the Saint Louis metropolitan area? Want a greater variety of products than the other Whole Foods in the Saint Louis metropolitan area?
