Beautiful photos, wonderful experience; but slightly pricey prints with NO rights release. My husband and I were very appreciative the photographers at AmberSky were willing to take "newborn" photos of our what-was-then a 3 week old baby (most photographers we called said "newborns" are 2 weeks or younger... but who the heck has time to shower and put on makeup with a fussy 1-week old?!?) When we got there, the studio inside AmberSky was completely set up including a heater, heating pad, lights, accessories, the works all ready to take our babys photos. McKaela was our photographer, with Jamie assisting (also fantastic to have TWO specialists at the ready for whatever unfolds) and they were both very patient and flexible to complete the session without much regard to timing - they didnt care how long they had to rock her back to sleep, the priority was the end result which was very nice. It didnt take long (maybe a week) for the photo "presentation" which was also in the studio, projected larger-than-life on the wall. This was very impressive. The pricing for their print packages were mid- to high- priced, but Im still dumbfounded as to why on earth they dont release the rights to the digital images. In todays competitive field (where everyone is releasing their photos) it doesnt make sense for them to keep your photos, hold them hostage, and make you buy prints from them! If it werent for this, Id be so happy to recommend AmberSkys photography to everyone I know... But, until this practice changes, I just cannot which is the reason for my 3 stars out of 5.

McKaela did an awesome job photographing our son with Amber Skys "grow with me" sessions. It has been amazing to watch how much our baby has grown and changed over the course of his first year, from tummy time, to sitting, to crawling, to walking... it all happens so quickly. By taking photos at 4, 8, and 12 months, we are able to enjoy lasting memories via professional portraits of all his different developmental stages. The 12 month session was especially fun, as it included a smash cake! McKaela is very sweet and knows how to get great smiles and expressions out of children. Being a mom herself, she is also very patient with the little interruptions that naturally come along with kids this age. We loved all our sons pictures and would highly recommend her services if you have a little one, or would like some portraits of the whole family. Only critique, as others have noted, is that the photos are primarily sold in print packages, with only the more expensive packages including any digital files. The prints are high quality, and the metal print is particularly cool looking, but would like to see a package from this business with a higher focus on digital files, so the customer could print casual copies (ie for scrapbooking, relatives, art projects) as desired.

I am a breast milk donor and I drop by Amber Sky this morning to drop off some milk and I was treated so rudely by the woman working there. I dont know her name but she has a septum nose ring (the part between the nostrils). It seems to me that she was irritated with her young son who was wanting something from her while she was helping me and then when I mentioned that I was thought it was cute how she spelled my name - with a very friendly tone - she got out another bag to start over and correct the spelling. I said it wasnt a big deal and her snarky response without making eye contact was " apparently it is!" I apologized and she had no response. Breast milk donation saves lives of fragile newborns in the NICU. I am proud to be a donor of life saving milk. I dont appreciate being treated rudely by the middle man whos irritated with her kid. Ill gladly accept an apology the next time I drop off a donation.

We had a great photography experience with McKaela at AmberSky. McKaela was very engaging with our then 6-month-old baby, and took some lovely shots. The studio space is a good size, and McKaela personalized it for us at the last minute to clear up some confusion that had occurred while booking the session. We highly recommend the studio and photographer, and are excited to use AmberSky again for family portraits in the near future. This time, well use their off-premise option! :) Initially, I was bothered by the fact that I could not get digital rights to the photos. Looking back on my experiences with other photography studios, however, I cannot think of a time when I actually USED the digital rights, even when I spent a lot of money to purchase them! Purchasing the beautiful quality prints from AmberSky was definitely a good choice.

Our photographer was McKaela and we had a wonderful experience. We did an outdoor family shoot & she was great with our 3 young kids. She went with the flow but was also very efficient at posing & capturing the moment. Our photos turned out beautiful. The viewing in the studio was impressive, pictures were projected onto a big screen & there was a playroom for the kids to play in while I made my decisions. My only negative is that they dont give you the digital rights & you have to buy all prints from them. I dont like deciding all my photo needs on the spot & Id prefer to buy a nice print for myself & print my own copies for relatives, etc. The prints I did order were high quality & really nice, but Id still like to be able to print a few more on my own whenever I desire.

I dont normally take the time to review places, but I 100% LOVE this place. Kelsey can work some serious magic with my cuts and fashion colors, I totally trust her to make my hair look crazy great every stinking time. Shes also beyond amazing with my three little guys. Theyre a wild bunch but shes a wiz at getting them to sit still and even look forward to their cuts (the playroom is also a valid selling-point, but I give her about 87% of the credit for non-tantrum haircuts). We used McKaela to capture our first official family photos and Im still baffled at how brilliant the final product was and how quickly we got our beautiful prints! This place is totally unique and has so much charm. Definitely worth the time to stop in, theres no chance youll regret it.

Mckaela is one of the best photographers we have ever had to pleasure of using. She is the only one we have used since my oldest was born. She is professional and can get a smile out of even the crankiest toddler. We absolutely adore her and highly recommend her to anyone and everyone who looks for a photographer for any type of occasion. We were honestly heartbroken when we found out we were moving to Missouri because Mckaela has truly become like family to us. I hope everyone goes to amber sky for all sorts of different needs, and requests photos by Mckaela.

Such an amazing place! Kelsey cut my one year olds hair and she was very patient and did an amazing job! My one year old was very squirmy but it didnt even phase Kelsey! She also cut my 3.5 year old daughters hair, she was very apprehensive about getting her hair cut but Kelsey was calm and sensitive creating an environment where my daughter opened up and got her hair cut!! What an amazing experience! They also have a great selection of baby and kid stuff, we bought my daughter some all natural nail polish after!
