I dont know about the previous review but I can tell you their service was above excellent for me. Over the previous weekend someone had sat on my glasses completely bending one of the sides so I had to pull the screw out and bend the frame back when I got to work Monday.. What I didnt intend is that my frames have this retractable edge that made it impossible to get the screw back in.. I spent a hour and a half trying to get the thing back in.. To the point of frustration I started looking up places near my work in Downtown St. Paul and found these guys only about 5 skyway walks away from me. I walked in the guy from the back walked up and I explained what happened he said he could get another screw in no problem. I waited maybe 3 or 4 minutes he not only had put another screw through, but had perfectly straightened my frame again to normal shape, and had polished all marks out of the lenses. When I asked how much it was for the repair, he goes "1 dollar should cover it".. A dollar?! Lol all I can think about is those commercials that go nothing costs a dollar anymore.. Ive gone to visionworks in Maplewood for a long time due to convenience but no longer.. My next frames and lenses I will be going here even if I dont work in Downtown St. Paul anymore. Im astonished this store is not more busy. Service A+ .. Price A+ .. Turn around time A+ .. I will be sending friends and family there whenever I can.

Did this place give me the bums rush today? I stopped in to see about an exam and glasses today. Other customers were there, I waited my turn. I explained what insurance I have and asked for confirmation that I could use it there, and that I was interested in an exam and glasses. I was told they dont have a doctor, he handed me a card and told me to call back sometime in March (its January now) and see if they might be able to get an appointment sometime after that. I asked which frames were of the brand that my insurance covers. I was told they are not on display. I asked to see a catalogue and I was told I would have to go on-line to see them. And the clerk walked away leaving me no option but to leave. If this place has no doctor, how do even keep their doors open. Was it my particular insurance maybe that they didnt want deal with even though they said they take it? Would it have killed them to give a peak at their frames catalogue or some of the inventory he said they have? (He said Id have to find it on line and then they probably have it at the store.)

First of all, I had my first appointment in September and it is now December and I STILL havent been able to order contacts. My appointment was not thorough as it only lasted about 20 minutes and didnt include a glaucoma test. I had to come back for another appointment to have the test done by a different dr. Not only that, but I got my trial set of contacts and the left one is not even the correct prescription! He changed the axis on my left eye. THAT NEVER CHANGES! Im still waiting to get my second pair of trial contacts 4 months after my first appointment. To be fair, I have a strong prescription and it does typically take a week to two weeks to get my contacts in. I have now been waiting almost 5 weeks with no follow up from the drs office. I would not recommend this place. Ive been getting eye exams for 33 years now and this was by far the worst Ive ever had.

I went here out of convenience because its only 5 min from my place. The eye exam was ok, the optometrist seemed hurried and came off a bit annoyed. Afterwards, I really wanted to look at glasses since that was the whole reason of going there but after I had my eye exam, the front counter guy (receptionist maybe?) was like "Did you want to look at glasses, cause we close in 5 min." Maybe you should not have a time slot for an eye exam so close to when you close. When I did look at their selection, I could not try on any frames since they were all locked up and the receptionist didnt seem willing to help. In the end he recommended a store in Roseville called iSight. They supposedly have a larger selection and better hours so Ill be sure to check them out seeing I need new glasses.

I started working downtown so I was looking for convenience. I not only got convenience. I got a great exam and a nice pair of glasses at an awesome price. Last weekend I was working in the yard and I dropped my glasses my brother was power washing the out door furniture and away my glasses went! After searching for them, and my brother stepping on them distorting the frame, I brought them back to Metro Optics and the person working fixed my glasses for nothing. I was extremely happy with this service as I thought I would need to purchase a new pair. This is definitely what I call great service.

They have a nice selection of glasses; however the Rx was not quite correct and the frames I chose have been problematic from the beginning. Constantly in the shop getting them adjusted, when I finally lost the screw holding the arm on I was charged for it. Seriously, if a customer has been in the office with problematic glasses for over a year, maybe you should comp the cost of a lousy screw? I wont be back.

Location is great, but the terrible service isnt worth it! Every call, visit and appointment was rushed, prescription incorrect, and how to speak to customers in an understanding and professional way after clearly a mistake was made; went out the window. I was lied to about policy twice when I called to let them know the prescription was simply not correct- it was too weak to read road signs.

If you want a thorough eye exam dont waste your time or money here! Mine lasted about 15 minutes and they proceeded to bill my insurance company well over $200. I have never had an exam less than 45 minutes prior to this, they cut way too many corners. Eyes are valuable, if you value your vision, dont go here!

Metro Optics goes above and beyond. The staff is always very helpful. Ive gone in for adjustments to my glasses, a temporary set of contacts to get me through the day and for general questions and theyve helped me every time without nickel and diming me. I love giving them my business!

Went in for an exam and glasses. Store was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and helped direct me to what I was looking for. Exam was thorough and I got my glasses back in a few days. Convenient location for me so I will definitely be going back.

They were very push and constantly trying to sell me additional things and make me commit to buying contacts through their store for at least twice the price I found online. Never going back!!

The quality of eye exam is not satisfactory, I have problems after having eye exam and changing my lens over there. I am not going to recommend to my friends.
