Discrimination!!!!! They have a company policy that people with MnSure or Medicare and MnCare can only have weekday appointments! They dont allow weekend or evening appointments because they say people with state insurance are no-shows and wont keep their appointments so they assume that because of the type of their insurance that they are not reliable people! When I heard they judge people this way, I wouldnt want to give them my business! There are many people that PURCHASE insurance from MnSure and that does not mean that they are low income (and even if they are why dont they treat them equally) and it certainly doesnt mean they arent reliable and responsible enough to show up for appointments! Also, if they really cared about helping people why would they only allow day time, weekday appointments when people would have to miss school and work! This wouldnt help a family improve their income or help a child if they have to miss school. They have preferred appointments for the people they prefer to serve. Actually, I wonder if this kind of discrimination is illegal! How can you treat one patient different than another! Maybe its worth a call to the state!

I have had two great expenriences at Family Vision Clinic of Farmington. My first visit included an exam by Dr. Rupnow, which went very well. She did a great job of asking me questions and then also making sure that I understood what she was saying/doing. I also picked out new glasses on that visit. Dena was very helpful in taking the time to help me choose a pair that would work well with my high prescription, as well as look good too. They did a great job of explaining what my insurance would/wouldnt cover and what the cost would be up front. My second visit included my glasses fitting. Kris did a great job in helping ensure they fit well and did any adjustments necessary. They provided a little glasses care-kit for you to take home with your new glasses. Very nice touch!

I had my vision check done here. I couldnt find any glasses that I liked so I decided to go elsewhere to order glasses. I went back after the place I ordered my glasses suggested it because I was having trouble with seeing signs from a distance. They said they would follow up with me after talking to the place I ordered my glasses to give me a recommendation. I am still waiting to hear what they have to say. In the mean time, I have made an appointment to use my other insurance to get a second opinion about my eye exam.

Professional and straightforward. Dr and staff could work on customer service skills and ensuring patients feel welcome. Last summer I went in with an eye infection, got drops - the following week was in with my husband and mentioned to the dr my eye was feeling better and she acted like she didn't know who I was. This winter I was in to order contacts, the receptionist never made eye contact with me (for the 10 min i was standing there) and answered her cell phone while helping me.

Dr. Rupnow is wonderful, and I have been going to see her for the past few years. I have worn glasses and/or contacts for almost 40 years, so I have seen my fair share of eye doctors. She is very professional and courteous at all times, and absolutely fabulous with my children (!!!). Ive been extremely happy with the exams that my family has received and also with the glasses and sunglasses that we have purchased there.

I been going to faamily vision for 3 yrs now. I really like going there for my eye glasses and exams as staff is very helpful and pays attention to details. they are explaining everything well and if I have any questions, they are willing to answer it. it is very good friendly place to have your exams done.

Excellent service, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! Saturday hours are convenient, for those unable to make an appointment during normal working hours. I will definitely be going back there for my next pair, since I saved almost $400 over the other quote I received for the same glasses.

Dr. Rupnow is professional yet down to earth. She is clearly gifted in what she does and has the patience and ability to describe your eye health in terms you can understand. She is wonderful with kids, too! Her staff is knowledgeable and helpful especially with figuring out insurance issues.

I have been going to Family Vision Clinic for 5 years both the Savage and now the Farmington office and had another great experience. The staff is very helpful in providing very good information about the exam, frame choices, upcoming sales, and they are all knowledgeable professionals.

Dr. Rupnow is less than 2 miles from our house. With two children (ages 8 and 5), having someone closeby is a great find. Dr. Rupnow was great for both their eye exams; she explained what she was doing and listened to what they had to say, too!

I called the eye doctor is on vacation until next week. Well guess what? They dont have a back-up doctor so they are pointless for any emergency care that is mentioned on their website. They are also rude on the phone when talking to them.

Always a good experience here. The receptionist is very nice and personable, always remembers our names and the staff is always willing to answer our questions and help with FSA receipt requests.
