I am conflicted in my review as I have had two experiences at this store. One was very positive and I would rate it a 5+, the other was VERY negative and I would give it 0 if that was possible. First, I placed an online order for some shoes and was directed to the service desk for pick up, the gentleman there was very nice and asked if I would like to try them on and got me get up with a person in the shoe department "if the ones I ordered didnt work out." The shoe salesperson picked out some that were similar in style to the shoes I had ordered and I ended up leaving with an additional pair. Also, I was with my boyfriend (not a shoe guy at all) but a gentleman from the mens shoe department asked if he would like to try one some styles since he was perusing the boat shoes. My boyfriend ended up buying two pairs as well that day and I was blow away by the customer service we received. The negative experience came when my mom, sister and I went to the womens dress area to find a wedding dress for my sister (she had a casual, intimate wedding, very boho and laid back). We had so much fun trying on dresses (although no one ever asked if we needed help or if we would like assistance). We selected the PERFECT dress (cotton lace, over a blush pink, full length) and we brought it up to the counter for purchase. This was so exciting to us as its the first child in the family to get married and my mom was just BEAMING. Well, the woman working at the desk was not overly friendly, did not ask what we were shopping for, and proceeded to DRAG THE DRESS on the ground. Mind you, this is an ivory lace. I would have expected her to be more careful with the dress and my mom actually had to ask her to pick it up off the ground and to not drag it! We were speechless. The dress didnt look dirty and we still purchased, but it was such a stain on an amazing day. This incident was reported to the service desk and the woman working appeared mid complaint. When my mom addressed her behavior, she didnt seem very concerned or over apologetic. Overall, I will be back. The service desk has always been amazingly helpful and I wont let that one occurrence deter me from going back. But, if it happens again, Ill have to think hard about returning again.

As an Orono native, I had high hopes for this store. Ive been going to the Nordstroms at MOA and West Orchard Mall in Chicago for the past 25 years, because both of those locations offer a good selection of merchandise. This new Ridgedale store is clean and bright and the staff is friendly, but its so small and lacking in merchandise that I doubt Ill ever go back. I asked a clerk why such a small store was built at Ridgedale and I was told that Nordstrom knows its markets well and determined there wasnt any/enough money in the western suburbs to sustain a larger store. This, of course, is dead wrong. Why arent retailers getting it right in their stores? Macys also made a misstep at Ridgedale by creating a behemoth of a store and cramming it full with racks of junk. People are moving more and more to online shopping simply because retailers dont seem to have a clue what to put in their stores.

Went here for the first time. I normally head to the MOA location for shoes, but thought Id give the new location a try since its so much easier to get in and out. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly, helpful, and couldnt have been better. Unfortunately, the selection was pretty dismal. Not only was the selection nowhere near what is at the MOA location (or other Nordstroms for that matter), it was very heavy on the store brands, and light on the higher end brands. The department was very specious, but didnt really have much in the way of shoes. This is the most convenient Nordstrom for any guy in Edina, Minneapolis Lakes Region, or around Lake Minnetonka. In other words, there are a LOT of high end shoppers around this store. If you just lined up the shoes that were on the sales floor and asked what store offered these, I would have guess Macys (that is NOT a compliment).

I would have to agree w/ the majority of the reviews. The buyers are not getting it right when it comes to this location, and dont give us enough credit. Minnesotans have some of the best style and sophistication, but I feel like the buyers are a little ho-hum and boring with the merchandise they are selecting for this location. Nothing really stands out to me, and wish they had gone bigger too, as far as selection. Unfortunately, it seems to be the consensus, when its brought up in conversation amongst friends, etc. Its too bad, this could have been just what we needed, because I cant stand Macys. I will still shop at this store here and there, but the buyers need to step it up! There is a lot of money to be made. Love Chris; the manager in the kids shoes, super friendly, and great customer service. Also, I found the restaurant to be wonderful. Thanks, Hollie Blanchard

Julie in womens wear and Deborah in kids are hands down the easiest stylists to work with!!! Ive had great success updating my wardrobe with help from Julie and keeping my boys fashionable (love Tucker+Tate) and in shoes that fit with help from Deborah C. Staff is always so professional and helpful, never pushy or presumptuous. If you need a style update and havent ever worked with a stylist before I highly recommend a visit to Julie & team!! Im on the "Nordstom frequent flyer" list for sure ;)

I came here for some vans, I asked a worker to show me some sizes, 2 of them didnt fit, so he said hed get a third size, but we spent 20 minutes waiting and all he did was walk around! Later, however, we came back and approached another employee and she was much friendlier and more helpful. I dont remember her name, but she had glasses. Overall good experience, higher end store, but nice clothes. I got a dress here recently, and Id like to see more of a selection for teens.

First visit to new store for a formal long gown. Store is lovely, sales people nice enough, but NOTone formal long dress in the whole department!! If I wanted a long dress in my size, I had to go to Mall of America!! Really?? Good luck Nordstroms , youre going to need it. Heads should roll, this is inexcusable and really quite surprising. Hopefully the next store that moves into that spot has some inventory for sale. Ridiculous!!

Great service, poor selection. I was very excited for this store to open, and have tried shopping there many times since. But I always walk out with nothing. They have both a lack of brands, and a lack of sizes. I did find a few gorgeous dresses there recently, but only size 10s and 12s left. Ill have to continue to trek to MOA:(

Bryce Carlson in the Mens Department has done an amazing job with my fiancé and me. He was willing to spend his time, share his knowledge, and give his honest opinions to us. Will definitely shop here more often with Bryces expertise assistance and welcoming shopping experience!
