Outstanding all the way around! My experience: I have VSP insurance, which they dont truly accept, so I got an eye exam somewhere else. I then stopped by one day to look at frames and see how much they would cost out of network. Awesome thing #1: they offer discounts to VSP users so that the out of pocket costs to me were the exact same $ amount as if I had gone to a VSP shop for the same frames/lenses. That was great!!! Awesome thing #2: The staff there are extremely nice and helpful. I was walked around the shop with a person who chose frames specifically for my face shape. But no pressure to choose from only that selection. Awesome thing #3: It turned out the prescription the other place gave me didnt work well for me, and I didnt want to go back there. I had such a great experience with Moss that I decided to take my glasses back to them and get a new exam. They were extremely helpful in this situation and charged me a very reasonable fee for the new exam. During the exam I had the complete attention of the Dr. (not a technician, as had done my previous exam at the other place). He did a great job and I feel very confident. Moss was also very accommodating with the cost of my new lenses, even though the reason for the change to their lenses was not their fault. I will be a loyal customer and patient of this place from now on!!!

My wife Laura and I were on the search for good looking frames. We went to dozens of different optical stores all over St. Paul and Mpls. The last place we visited was Moss. We found the perfect frames for her that are very sexy, fit perfect and are stylish. We call them the "Sexy Novelist Glasses". When we went back to pick the hers up, I also came across the perfect frames for me too, Ive been looking for my 1st pair of real glasses for 5 years! Im a hair stylist with 20/20 vision, but I need glasses for the first 3-4 feet,(haircutting range). Ive been getting by with cheapo drug store readers for a number of years but been wanting glasses that would be worth the price of upgrade, Moss got me looking _way_ better! 1st impression is so very important to me in my profession and also with my wife being an attorney, we both recommend Moss Optical to anyone concerned about fashion, fit and value.

Moss Optical is outstanding. I purchased a pair of bespoke natural horn glasses from them--a difficult and delicate material to adjust--and they took the trouble to futz with it on many revisits to get the fit just perfect for my admittedly finicky preferences. I have no doubt I was a bit of an "annoying" customer, but they never made me feel anything less than welcome, and they were accommodating and friendly with every interaction. After a couple years, the horn material started degrading a bit (not the fault of Moss Optical), and they contacted the manufacturer, who replaced it for free (the frames cost several thousands). Their followup service is exceptional, and Ive had nothing but pleasant interactions with all of the staff. If I could give them six stars, I would gladly do. If youre planning on investing in higher end eyeglasses, then this is THE place to go in the Minneapolis area.

I have been struggling with computer glasses for at least 3 years. Every year I tried a different eye doctor and frame shops. I had actually given up because it was costing me so much money and I wasnt getting good results. I was using a pair of $15 "computer glasses" from the drugstore and just getting by. The folks at Moss Optical nailed my prescription - both for my regular, progressive lenses and my computer lenses. We had one second attempt on the computer lenses and they are amazing. No more leaning, squinting, head-bobbing, or headaches. They were also able to incorporate reading progressives in my computer lenses. I cant thank you enough! Im seeing better now that I have in years.

This place knows how to do customer service. After over 40 years without glasses, I finally had to get my first pair, and Tamara was absolutely amazing in helping me find a frame that fit, looked good and her explanations and opinions along the way helped me pick a frame my wife and I love. When I ordered my sunglasses from here, they were barely done on time (late Friday afternoon, ~5pm) and I was leaving on a big adventure the following Monday. The owner, Kevin, picked up the glasses from whoever grinds them and personally delivered them to me on Saturday (A drive from Maple Grove to downtown, and not a day they are open). Im glad I got my glasses here and would recommend them.

I have been a customer of Moss Optical for over 10 years. The staff is very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They have a wonderful selection of frames in the latest styles and helped me select the perfect pair for my face. I wear contacts 99% of the time, but have now begun to wear my glasses more because I love them so much. Dr. Diamond is so thorough. He makes sure my prescription is perfect and is willing to take a 2nd look if I am not satisfied. I love the fact that Moss Optical has the retinal scanner. No more dilating my eyes. Insurance doesnt cover thee $34 cost, but it is well worth it! I recommend Moss Optical to everyone I know. Thanks for such great service.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dr. Diamond is wonderful and personable, the staff members here are friendly and welcoming, and they work one-on-one with you to find frames that are just right for your face and character : ) An outstanding experience: I had ordered frames from an online dealer and needed to bring them in to Moss Optical because the lens prescription seemed off. I was running late and Kevin Moss, the owner, offered to stay after closing time to help me. He scanned the lenses, wrote down the correction, and did not charge me a thing. I had always been impressed with their customer service and this experience took the cake. I highly recommend this family-owned business!

Kevin Moss and his team are definitely champions of excellent services. I have been struggling with my glasses for almost a year. They looked great, but were extremely uncomfortable. Kevin’s team was super patient adjusting my glasses and trying to make them as comfortable as possible, unfortunately with no luck. So finally, Kevin suggested to completely replace them. No charge! I didn’t expect him to do this since by this time the warranty already expired, his response was “The Moss Optical warranty doesn’t expire. We want you to be happy and comfortable in your glasses”. And he did it. I love my new glasses! They are much more comfortable and still stylish. Thank you Kevin!

This is a professional, caring and ethical business. Kevin takes great pride in the family business and worked to make sure my glasses worked for me - even after changing out lenses on the new pair until they met my particular needs. Tamara helped me through the maze of glasses and guided the customized frames I ultimately purchased. And it was the best, best eye exam Ive ever had with up-to-date technology meaning I didnt have to get my eyes dilated, and the doctor was thorough, smooth and easy to work with - minimizing "this or this" - need I say more?
