I highly recommend Dinkytown Tattoo! I got my first tattoo done here about a month ago and it turned out beautifully. I went in a couple times before deciding to come here and all of the artists were polite and helpful. They answered all of my idiotic questions with patience and sincere kindness. When I finally decided to get my piece here, I sent in a couple images and asked them to put them together into design. Daniel did my work, and I fell in love with it at first sketch. There were just a few little sizing adjustments to be made, which he did without question. Daniel came in on his day off to fit my schedule and was amazing during the process. I was a little apprehensive since it was my first piece, but he made me very comfortable and calm. He was good about letting me have breaks when I needed them. I had a piece that took up about half of my upper back, took almost two hours, cost me $160. I left a $20 tip because it was so wonderful. (I would have left more, but Im a broke undergrad.) The tattoo was almost completely healed in about a week and had no complications. Touch-ups are complimentary, and I just needed a little definition on a couple lines in my piece. All in all, a top rate performance. I would highly recommend the service here. Not just Daniel, but all of the staff. (I interacted with most of them.) Definitely five stars.

I went to Dinkytown Tattoo for the first time last night expecting a simple consultation for my first tattoo. I loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. It was neat and nicely decorated. The receptionist/artist Mimi immediately engaged with me. She was interested in what -I- wanted done for my tattoo and wanted to make that possible. She explained how the procedure would work. I ended up running out to get a bite to eat while she worked on a sketch for my design. I came back, assessed her sketch, and we got started. She came through with her word on how the procedure would go. The other artists were friendly to be around and Mimi worked swiftly and professionally. She was careful and treated my tattoo like an artist would. She was clear about aftercare and charged me what she said shed charge me. I loved her laid-back attitude and that of the other artists. I felt like I was among friends. For someone new to body art, it was a FANTASTIC experience and I wouldnt have wished for a better location, artist or experience. Dinkytown Tattoo is a wonderful parlor with great service.

Dinkytown isnt my normal tattoo shop, but I went in because my usual artist didnt feel that his hands would be small enough to tattoo my knuckles. I was in and out in a matter of twenty minutes. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. As someone who has done this many times, it was definitely one of my better experiences. Jeannie took great care in the design and placement of my tattoos, and made sure they would be perfect. She clearly takes great pride in her tattoos which is evident in her portfolio and her own body art. As far as price, for the skill level and expertise of the artists, the higher price point is absolutely appropriate, and I was willing to pay more for the care and attention to detail they put into their work.

They dont fix their mistakes. If you follow up the appointment by keeping the tattoo covered, trying not to put stress on the skin, and not showering for 24 hours, as well as placing the lotion that they recommend on the tattoo, and the ink doesnt settle and scabs off, they wont do touch ups or will tell you that the artist was fired (a common scam that tattoo parlors say when they are lazy or incompetent) when you ask them if they can perform a touch up. Other tattoo parlors have said that they are less experienced and press down way too hard or use an oddball setting on the needle, and this is why that happens. I had to go to another parlor so that I could have it fixed and pay more money because of their mistakes.

After finding Ideas portfolio online, I fell in love with her style and contacted her via email to book an appointment. Her response was within the same day, and the deposit was taken care of by that evening. The appointment itself was fantastic - everyone in the shop was extremely friendly. Idea gave me a wide option of bright colors that I was looking for, and the free hand piece she gave me is amazing. I had the piece done yesterday, I have already received countless compliments from friends and coworkers. I am already looking forward to the next time I can have a piece done by her.

Best shop in the cities by far. Great artists, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I always get tattooed by Greg, and hes a fantastic artist and always makes me feel comfortable when Im in the chair. The other artist are great too and it has a very collaborative feel. The prices are fair and reasonable and Im always made to feel comfortable at every step of the process. I have been going to this shop for 8 years, and will keep bringing my ideas there to be stamped onto my skin. Thank you Dinkytown Tattoo!

Dinkytown is such an awesome shop. All the artist there are super respectful and treat you like a person. The shop itself, is beautiful with lots of cool old tattooing stuff, its like a museum! The new managment has definatly brought this shop into its own, and the new artist are doing really cool work. This is definatly the the place to go if your into traditional (sailor jerry, ed hardy, mike malone) stuff or if you want some custom work. Shop is always clean and has a fun atmoshpere.

Dinkytown Tattoo is an great shop right in the heart of Dinkytown. The staff want to you find the artist who style fits best with the tattoo you want and the artists work hard to create custom pieces just for you. The shop walls are filled with original and contemporary flash. There are even antique tattoo machines on display. The shop is clean and comfortable, obviously well maintained but with a relaxed atmosphere. The awesome artists at Dinkytown will give give you an awesome tattoo.

The receptionist that is generally there is very helpful with answering any questions, and when shes not there, the artists does a fantastic job as well. Im sorry the reviewer who gave them a 2 star review didnt have a good experience when they first walked in but dont be fooled by the "cramp" look. All the artists are talented-- just check out their walls!

Got a small tattoo. Reasonable price but the color came off in a few months inspite of taking good care of the tattoo during healing. Tried to contact them but now they are too busy. Every tattoo parlour offers free touch-ups if there is any problem with your tattoo but not Inkaholics.
