I purchased their premium car starter (Viper model 480v) and had it installed January 2015. The sales rep who sold it to me stated the remote batteries will be good for numerous years, so I purchased the car starter. 5 months after the installation, both of my remotes went dead. When I called in I spoke to one of the best buy Mechanics and he told me the remote batteries only have an average life span of 3 MONTHS!!!! The Mechanic stated two way remotes drain a lot batteries as it is constantly communicating with the device in the vehicle. He was surprised it lasted 5 months. I told him only one of the remote was a 2 way remote. The back up remote was a 1 way and was never used. It was still in its original plastic covering. I asked him about my 1 way remote and the mechanic stated those last a little longer but not surprise that it had died already. The mechanic advised that I have the batteries replaced. At the time it was in the middle of summer and it was not urgent to replace the batteries so I didnt. October rolls around and I figure its time to install the new batteries. When I took the remotes out, the 1 way remote started working again but it would come in and out. Out of curiosity, I came back to this Best Buy and spoke to a sales associate who worked in the department. I pretended I looking to buy a car starter and asked him the same question I asked the initial associate, "how long do the batteries last on these remotes?" The associates responded "They last for a very long time." I asked him to clarify what he meant by that and he stated "up to 5 years." At this point I was quite surprise and told him my issue. He called over his supervisor and she stated these batteries should last for a number of years. At this point they take me over to the mechanics to get things straighten out. The mechanic tells me these batteries only last for 3 months MAX!!!! He was surprise the 2 way had lasted so long. I told him about the 1 way remote and he tells me to call in on Monday (this day was Saturday) to schedule an appt. I asked why I couldnt just schedule it at that time. He told me they dont schedule more then 2 weeks out. I call in on Monday, and the mechanic tells me theres nothing they can do and that I needed to reach out to Viper. At this point, I was done. I requested that they needed to uninstall this car starter and refund my money back as I was given false information at the time of purchase. The mechanic in so many words said no. A few days passed and I called and spoke to the department manager (of both sales and installation so he stated). I called only to waste more of my time. The guy missed my WHOLE ENTIRE POINT. Long story short,he was not trying to resolve my issue, he was just trying to get rid of it. My issue is not about the battery. My issue is with the HUGE disconnect with the sales reps and mechanics. After talking to him I know now its not a disconnect. This is the way they are running this place.

I have had some well let’s say not so great experiences in best buy over the years. That being said I wanted to write and tell you about the positive experience I had in the Maplewood store. I came into the store about 6 months ago and was thinking about maybe replacing my refrigerator and while I was there browsing I was approached by a salesman named Adam, He asked what I was looking to do and what features I was looking for, all the valid questions a good sales person would ask, I however was not ready to pull the trigger just yet, I was going out of country for a new job and had to get a few things inline and frankly I was looking to replace a brand new unit that came with the house we had just bought. But Adam was very helpful and attentive to my needs. I left but he sure made a positive Impression on me and started me thinking of changing my tune towards the Best Buy Brand. So a few months went by and I came back in for a laptop and Adam made a point to come over and say hello. That blew me away that he even remembered me. I was back in for TV and again Adam said hello. Well the time came to get the new refrigerator and my wife and I came in and started looking at the fridge I wanted and here came Adam and introduced himself to my wife and we started comparing what we wanted and Adam had the answers we needed and went over the warranty. We bought the fridge and had it delivered and the delivery went flawlessly and the guys were awesome. So in closing Adam Smith has changed my perception of Best Buy, that store has done a great job over the last year or so getting people in there that understand how to sell and understand the customer’s needs. Whatever you are doing keep it up. Thank you, Blake

I needed to buy complete TV, home theater and Xbox console and I step into this store and after several minutes of wandering about finally someone comes to find out what I need and the guy was pretty good in helping me out find what I need and we went through all the items pretty quickly and he rung me up.... and then I get to know that for a financing option with Best Buy you need to have a Best Buy credit card and I go and fill out and application and apparently they have some problem with my application............ I was pretty frustrated till that point that the guy wasent clear on the financing options they had and did a terrible job explaining how to get financing.... So I went ahead and wanted to pay in full using my checking account.... and I had a problem as my daily spending limit has been reached on my cheking card.... so I wanted to get the TV and Xbox for now and come back tomorrow for the home theater and other stuff...... and while me and this guy were discussing on how to do that this psycho lady comes from nowhere and starts typing and prints out a receipt and tells me that my money has been refunded and it will take couple of days to show up on my account!!!!! I WANTED TO PUT THE MONEY WHICH I ALLREADY SWIPED ON A GIFT CARD OR SOMETHING TO USE IT NOW AND BUY A FREAKING TV TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I cant use my card till the cash is refunded and I am stuck the entire weekend without a TV and THEY DONT EVEN MAKE AN APOLOGY FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously is it just me or the Customer service has just gone to dogs these days!?!?!?!?!?!? MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE SHOPPING TILL DATE!!! Please avoid this place......

Memorial Day around 3:30, Maplewood MN store - shopping for appliances - Refrigerator, Stove, Dishwasher and Microwave. First approached by a female (sorry, forgot her name) and she welcomed us and gave us some information. Then a little later, Adam stopped by, gave us some information and we asked questions. VERY helpful, polite, knowledgeable, etc. He had to take care of something else, brought over Israel, updated him on our conversation and then excused himself. Israel was fantastic. VERY nice, knowledgeable, had a great time with him. Gave us plenty of information. We hadnt planned on buying anything, just checking out different brands. Israel told us they would match any price and before ringing up everything, they would look up prices on-line. We ended up buying all four pieces! I dont think Ive ever had a better experience with a sales person. He stayed about two hours past the time he was suppose to leave, and helped us with every detail, including getting delivery and installation set up, and making sure we had everything we needed. During the whole time, he took care of us and he and Mike (Mgr?) even asked if we wanted something to drink, that it was on them! We had also looked at a washer and dryer, but decided to hold off on that (didnt want to overspend our means.) But, we will probably be shopping for them again in the near future and we will most certainly look up Israel and Adam!! Hopefully they will still be there!!!
