I received a tshirt from Duluth Trading Co. as a gift that was too small. I attempted an exchange and a seasonal sales clerk would not exchange without "creating a sales history" for the shirt. After asking me 3 times for the gift givers address I said "I dont know it and Im not gonna bother them for it over an exchange." I had also purchased a pair of pants that were too long but had the receipt for those. I was originally going to exchange them for the right size but after the testy exchange with the seasonal clerk I decided I didnt want to spend any more time in the store. So I returned the pants and was on my way. The seasonal clerk seemed very pleased with the whole ordeal, smiled real big and told me to have a real good rest of my day. Just kind of rude and off putting. The products this company pedals are of the highest quality. The customer service at the Fridley loacation leaves me willing to settle for lower quality items elsewhere at least for the holiday season. I have been to this location before but never had and trouble buying or exchanging anything on previous visits. Had it not been for better visits prior the review would have been lower. Had this been my first visit I would not have returned.

I have made many purchases with this company over the years. Even since before they came back to MN. However the treatment I received this evening at the Fridley MN store was unacceptable and I will NOT return. I have emailed the corporate offices in Belleville WI and explained my situation and frustrations. The sales associates were no help and the NO BULL Guarantee appears to be debatable. I was nearly refused an exchange because there was nothing wrong with the product. The policy clearly states if you are not 100% satisfied they will return or exchange at purchase price. I had the proof of purchase under my name in there system (which they found) but they stated they would only offer me a store credit for the items lowest selling price, again because there was no defect in the product. This is BULL, because I was not 100% satisfied and as their policy states, I should have had a no hassle return or exchange. I paid $90 and only received $55 in credit. This is very frustrating and I bet I will never hear back from them to rectify this, but thats OK, as they will never hear from me again.

Im a cheap person. Seriously. It takes a LOT to get me to spend more than WalMart prices for much of anything. So I got a little sticker shock, here. But it didnt last long. Ive had three - count em, three - pairs of Duluth jeans for the past two years. One little hole (ripped by a nail) is all the wear and tear you can see; the quality is outrageous. The Firehose work pants are even tougher; no sign of wear after close to three years. Someone griped about the underwear, which lists at something like $24 a pair (but is on sale frequently around $16). Yep, its more expensive than the $8 a bale stuff from Target that might as well come pre-shredded; it also lasts forever, holds up its look wonderfully, and is genuinely *comfortable*. You pay a little more, but you buy for the long term. Im gonna guess my $60 pair of jeans has lasted longer than 3-4 $20 pairs from Wallyworld would have. Great staff, fun accessories.

The clothes are quality, but returns are a PAIN and the prices are high without coupons or clearance deals. I placed an online order with a 20% coupon and the clothes arrived within 3 days! Sweet! I went to pick up and found out one article was still on its way. I didnt want to make another trip so I asked to return it. I also tried on the clothes that DID arrive and discovered most were too big. When I tried to return what I didnt want, they couldnt electronically process and had to do it the "old fashioned way." my kids got antsy (wife included) and the whole return process lasted longer than 30 minutes! If youre going to shop online, you better know your size with their clothes! I wont be back... For a while at least. Sorry for the harsh review.

Recently stopped in to buy a pair of work boots. Really like the ones that were in store! Although, later that evening, whilst tying the boots for the first time a bracket popped off of one of the shoes where the laces are! I never even got to wear them! Will be in to "try" to return this $130 pair of regret (from the reviews Ive read it may be difficult...). I offer simply my lifetime faithfulness to your company if and only if you are able to replace the boots with another pair. Looking forward to continue being a fan of this brand and the usual quality in clothing it provides. I will see you folks at 9am. I pray the company gods will shine their merciful light down on me.

Quality products for the price. I use to buy Carhart for almost the same price but less comfortable. A pair of True Religion or Rock and Republic are way more in price, about 3x as much. If you plan on shopping there they always have coupons that you can print out our join their mailing list and you can save a butt load of real paper money, that or some cyberspace credit money. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star is because they have the No Name "polo" shirts in all colors of the rainbow except for gray, and I need that color for work. So yeah, give me gray shirts and then a 5 will be given.

Creepy. I like looking at some of the outdoorsy merchandise, but in the 10 mins or so i spent in the store, i was approached 4 times to see if i was finding everyting ok. Three of those times was by the same guy who, since i was the only customer in the store at that time, had no one else to stalk. To DTC: While your employees were stalking me, I was making mental notes of what products I liked and the prices of each so I can find the same items or their equivalents elsewhere. I will not do further business with this store.

Anyone who thinks their stuff is overpriced obviously has not tried their stuff. I consistently go through pants in 3 months, always wearing holes in them. When I first got pants from them I tested them by wearing the same pair of pants everyday except during washing. 10 months later they still look new and I have bought more. Also when they say stain resistant they mean it. I got about a 2 inch squared splotch of blood on them and got it off just with a wet paper towel. Great store, you get what you pay for and more.

While they didnt have what I needed (FR rated clothing), they helped me brainstorm for 15 minutes on where else I could go. I had about 3 people helping me, and all were energetic and trying to help me solve my challenge. They sent me to Carhartt, which had what I needed. I would recommend Duluth Trading Company hands down. Great customer service, even though I wasnt a paying customer.
