Im not sure if it is just this particular store, or if all JCPenney stores are going downhill. Horrible customer service!! Last summer, I ordered a dress online that I was planning to wear for my best friends wedding. The first time I went to pick the dress up from the catalog desk, another customer and I waited for 10 minutes before we finally found a salesperson to "help" us. He told us that not only did we have to go to a regular checkout to have catalog items retrieved, they were too understaffed on that particular day to have any of their workers bring out online orders. I went back 2-3 days later hoping to pick up my dress. However, not only had they "accidentally" sent the dress back, it could no longer be re-ordered because it was being discontinued. I asked for a good coupon or gift card for my trouble, and the sales lady replied "Im sorry, we dont do that in these types of situations." Im a pretty patient/calm person, but this was ridiculous, and I let the sales lady know just how irritated I was. Today, I went to the store to exchange some shirts I bought for my husband. Again, I had to wait in line for probably 10 minutes, with just one customer ahead of me, because one worker didnt seem to know what she was doing, and the other was busy on the phone. I had used a $10 off coupon when I purchased the shirts just yesterday. When I asked if the coupon could still be applied, I was told "Not if you dont have the actual coupon. When its gone, its gone." JcPenneys used to be one of my favorite stores. However, both their poor selection, especially of womens clothing, and horrible customer service has convinced me to shop elsewhere.

Terrible customer service in the furniture dept. Twice within the past year and a half we have been prepared to purchase mattresses, fist a twin and then a king, the same day we went in. Both times it took almost 10 mins before we could find anyone to help us. Then both times, after we said we were prepared to buy, the customer service guy ran off to entertain other customers. The second time we waited for him to come back because we wanted to buy and have it delivered asap, but after we found they guy following a couple around in the sofa area we walked out. They lost purchases both days, as we went directly to Ikea and purchased a twin and directly across the street to Mattress Giant the second time and purchased our king. Terrible and would not recommend to anyone!

Terrible customer service. I dont think people who work there get any training. I have three charges , wrongfully charged ,on my credit card from the store , $30 extra. I spent almost an hour trying to get a transaction fixed. It is even more messed up now. I have zero patience to deal with it , and have more transactions added to my card. I literally am so frustrated , that I would rather let $30 go than deal with people who have no idea what they are doing. Please do yourself a favor , and shop at a place where they know what they are doing.

Just horrible and annoyed. I had two items in my hands and I had to go from register to register because there was only one person at the cash wrap and they kept telling me to go to another one. Unbelievable, no wonder its closing down the customer service is just horrid and they just are plain rude. Never going to this location ever again.

JCPenney in Southdale Center has the best Big & Tall section for Mens clothing I have ever seen! No other JC Penney has had the amount of stock and sales that they have had. JCPenney is the only department store I ever shop at for Big & Tall clothing. 10/10

It should not take 30 minutes to wait in line and pay for something at 3pm on a week day. And just to be sent to another desk once I reach the front. They need to hire more people.
