This was a Dunn Bros. coffee shop with wonderful coffee, Tea, pastries, sandwiches and people. I was excited because it called itself a Bakery Cafe. Lots of bakery but little other food. I was surprised that they did not have soup and the lunch menu was sparse. The breakfast menu was much larger, but I was there when that was no longer available. I had a BLA (Bacon, Lettuce and Avacado) sandwich. It was delicious but not very filling as it was quite small and rather expensive for what I got. I also spent a lot on a pastry which was also delicious and at least filling. I know they have only been there since October, but I wish that they had put a little more thought into the venture. I have eaten at the Rustica in Minneapolis and was always pleased, so I was not prepared to be disappointed. The people behind the counter were distracted and not very friendly. Also, I have been spoiled by the previous Dunn Bros. employees, who were always friendly and pleasant. I think I will try it again in the summer and hope it has shaped up.

The old Dunn Brothers that was here before was much better in my opinion. My first time at Rustica I ordered two "large" hot chocolates (16oz is not a large) and they were $5 each. They tasted like hot milk. There was very little chocolate taste. Yes they are a bakery, and I have not tried any baked goods, but if youre going to charge $5 for a hot chocolate it better be good. I love this building (hence the second star) and used to frequent the Dunn Brothers, but I will not be visiting Rustica nearly as much, if ever. Id rather drive 2 minutes down the road for a reasonably priced coffee or hot chocolate from Caribou.

Went to the new Rustica in the new location the week of Oct 10th. The first week in operation. Good news - the coffee is still the same great stuff from Dunn Bros - better than some other local beans. Heres one vote that the Dunn Bros coffee stays. The people at the new Rustica are mostly the same, which is good, too. Lets hope the long serving people there stay on. The old school record player is still there - more good news. So, the new location is mostly the same, but with some better baked goods. if thats the change, I will continue to be the same loyal customer Ive been over the last 5 years.

Not so nice anymore. Came here quite often when it was Dunn Bros and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the new Rustica is not as nice, coffee drinks are mediocre and expensive, pastry treats are cold and they dont have a microwave to warm them up. I ordered a hot cocoa and they dont have whipped cream. What kind of coffee/bakery doesnt have whipped cream and a microwave? The whole atmosphere seems like it was rushed, not put together well. Dun Bros operated at much more professional level. I live nearby and rarely see cars in the lot, so it must not be doing as well as Dunn Bros either. Its too bad.

Awesome setting - is in an hold brick home. Music playing on an actual record, etc. Super cool feel and design etc. def on the higher end of pricing - almost everything is $4-5+ for coffee but very tasty! Staff wasnt very personable or friendly. Take somewhere like Joey Novas Tonka bay where the staff actually enjoy their job, it ties back to management and the freedom they give their employees to love what they do and take care of their customers. Not a bad experience, but concerned about consistency going forward because of the experience I did not receive from the staff.

If I had to describe this place in one word it would be pretentious. The prices are also ridiculously expensive. $4.50 for a small coffee that is half the size of a Caribou or Starbucks small is highway robbery. I loved coming here as a student when it was Dunn Brothers but now I feel like Im not rich enough to even step foot in the building. They need to add something to help with noise. Every conversation is amplified and echoes throughout the building. I could barely hear myself think while waiting in line.

Paid $4.56 for a 16oz coffee with a shot that turned out to be amazingly bitter. Undrinkable. This place was my favorite coffee place and would take people from out of town there for a cup of amazing coffee in a truly unique environment when it was Dunn Bros- I would contend that this used to be one of the best coffee shops in the SW, now it isnt worth the trip. Im the SW metro, Dunn in Chaska and Mocha Monkey in Waconia have much better coffee.

Best coffee in the burbs (they use Dogwood beans) and great Rustica pastries. The monkey bread should be a national sensation: croissant dough pieces caramelized like a caramel roll. They also have eggs, sausage, bacon etc if youre not looking to carb load for breakfast. Would be 5 stars if they had some gluten free treats. If youre idea of coffee is a venti caramel high rise, extra whip, its not the place for you.

Great first impression! Delicious baked goods and good coffee. Had the Maple Clove latte - sweet, but tasty! They place was quite busy, but the staff was friendly and kept the line moving. They got our order out in decent time. Finding a table downstairs was a little tricky - Sunday early afternoon. Cant wait to go back and try something new.

I enjoyed coming here enough when it was Dunn Bros, it was one of the most expensive Dunn Bros, but the costs were justified with the coffee quality. Now the Dunn Bros quality is gone, but the cost remains. I dont know if Ill come back anytime soon on my own accord. Its such a shame what has happened here.

They have some of the best baked goods in the twin cities area and the atmosphere is awesome! Its in the old Smith Douglas More House and its beautiful. Theres open seating with music on the main floor and then a few quite rooms on the top floor that are perfect for work meetings. Definitely recommend!

Great environment. Plenty of room (three full rooms, all with a variety of seating for individuals and groups), delicious drinks (Dogwood coffee and awesome cappuccinos), and a cozy ambience (they have a record player that is always in use and wonderful decor). All around wonderful.

High quality coffee, breakfast and bakery items in a unique historic setting. Great patio and outdoor yard as well. A hub of activity for the local community. Coffee in the morning and beer/wine/Ice cream in the afternoon.

Unfortunately we were not impressed. Price for a 8oz chai tea was to expensive. Plus it was the worst, bitter and flavorless. No bakery items left in fact when we walked in it look very empty and not inviting. Disappointed.

Set in a charming historic farmhouse; Rustica is a perfect place for studying, meeting friends, or to having a meeting. This spot is overflowing with charm. It could also be considered a European style coffee stop.

I love this building but I liked it better when it was a Dunn Bros. Seems like they are going for a more trendy theme, which I dont care for much more than the inflated prices. Its still a good meeting place.

Excellent setting. I generally order the same drink wherever I go, and this was the only time Ive been surprised by how good the coffee tasted. I was expecting chain quality, but was happily surprised
