If Sav-a-lot is increasing their prices based on the Flint videos on You Tube, then they deserve to lose customers. I can assure you, you dont need to worry about the water in that You Tube video. Im sure the lady from Flint testing the water on You Tube meant well but the trouble with her water test thats on You Tube is that the woman is using a TDS meter NOT A LEAD meter. So when it lights up, it does NOT mean that water is positive for lead. TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids and among the solids can be calcium, phosphates, nitrates, sodium, potassium, and chloride just to name a few of the more popular solids. Furthermore, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total amount of MOBILE CHARGED IONS, including minerals like calcium magnesium, potassium etc ., salts or metals dissolved in a given volume of water, expressed in units of mg per unit volume of water (mg/L), also referred to as parts per million (ppm). We’ve been told our entire lives to avoid using electronics in water. The TDS meter basically tests for conductivity of the water. A completely negative reading is basically the equivalent of saying ‘water doesn’t conduct electricity,’ which it doesn’t without the mobile ions like minerals of calcium, magnesium ect. This means that either A.) you’ve been poisoned your entire life with the conductive tap or bottled water or B.) this video reveals nothing new about the water shown. Like for instance, Sams Club and Wallmart water had a small blink but it says right on their bottle that they ADD minerals like calcium, magnesium etc. to their water to make it more healthy for you, which is most likely what the TDS meter is picking up. There are highly sofisticated regulations on bottled water, in fact the bottle itself contains more toxins than the water does! So if you are really worried about toxins, you better quit drinking bottled water at all. One of the most ridiculous things Ive ever seen is people who smoke insisting on drinking bottled water when there is nothing more toxic than smoking which contains arsenic, formaldahyde, acetone and a ton of other toxins. Heck we can get toxins by breathing air now a days. My point is you dont have to worry about lead in bottled water, you are NOT drinking lead. I applaud that woman for trying to help people by posting that You Tube video but its just that no one explained to her what the meter they gave her really measured. So its not her fault, thus, I felt an obligation to inform ppl by this review. Normally I like Sav-a-lot but for them to increase their price and mislead/allow people to think theirs is the only water without lead is completely unethical to customers and thats why I wanted to set the record straight so people can make informed decisions. So if you can find bottled water less expensive than Sav-a-lot, then dont be scared to buy it, it does NOT have lead in it. Heck there is more lead in ALL of our tap water that weve been drinking most of our lives than there is in any bottled water out there, and none of us have ended up dead yet, however, excluding Flint Also, driving down the road we come in contact with cadmium that microscopically flys off the tires of the vehicles around us and its toxic to our bodies too. We just need to keep up our immune systems and stay in good shape so our bodies resist all the toxins out there but bottom line is Sav-a-lot does not have the only healthy water out there so dont let them manipulate you with that notion. And if thats what they are telling people in the store, then they should be prosecuted for fraud. There are other things more important about bottled water that you should be worried about like its PH level and of course the plastic bottle itself IS toxic and that toxin quadruples when you leave it sitting in the sun. If for some reason you dont believe me, you can go back to the You Tube video that Flint woman put up and a link to it will pop up which will basically tell you what I just told you here that the meter she was using did NOT MEASURE LEAD etc.

OMG Who is the big fat ugly white dude with the short hair who constantly stands at the front door of the store smoking like a chimney? You cant even walk in the store without going thru his smoke field! I cannot believe savalot allows this to go on! I would fire him on the spot if it was my store! When I see him, I dont even park, I just keep driving right up Fort st. to Aldi or go to Kroger cuz I am not into breathing all that cigarette smoke! Im sure that dollar store next door is losing customers also bc of all his second hand smoke. Its terrible to have to deal with. They ought to make him go out the back door of the bldg. and smoke so no one else has walk thru it to get in the store. Gosh, whats wrong with these store managers that dont even address this sort of thing? I have seen this guy smoking in front of the store ever since it opened! Its not a good reflection of Savalot at all and Im about ready to report it to whoever the owner of the store is, who Im hoping will fire the lousy managers for allowing it to continue for so long. Nobody wants to breath that and get cancer! Cigarette smoking is sooo nasty and dirty and unhealthy, ICK! Disgusting!

Thanks a lot for gouging us on the bottled water price! I thought this store was supposed to help you save? I am very disappointed in Savalot for jacking up the price of the bottled water because of the Flint crisis. It used to be 1.99 and now, since someone from Flint went online and said there was lead in it, Savalot jacks the price up .50 to 2.49! That may not seem like much but when you buy 15-20 cases at a time, its like $10 more so it adds up! It reminds me of the guy they showed on 6 oclock news who jacked up the price of the prescription medication when he knew no one else had it and he had a monopoly on it. Shame on you Savalot! I actually thought you cared about low income people, I usually go in their monthly and shoot my whole wad but now since obviously all you care about is money, then Ill be rethinking where I shop. I mean, if I have to pay this price, I might as well go back to where I used to get my water before savalot carried it.

I thought putting a grocery store in the neighborhood would have been great but this store is really ridiculous the prices are higher and its not suitable for everyone in the neighbourhood shop here it is for selective nationalities which is wrong for the store to come in size of a city and sail for just one particular nationality as that afore are the prices are very high
