Terrible experience. Do not go here, it is a mess! **Update 12/16** I just want to add that on top of the below issues, I want to add the recent failure. I went through three doctors to get my eyeglasses prescription. The second doctor gave me a recommendation. I misplaced the consultation form and called yesterday to get a phone number and name. The office told me that they recommended Dr. Hamburger and that it was Dr. B that recommended this. I questioned this. They said that they only had record of two doctors seeing me and they confirmed with the second doctor. Well, I found my consultation form. Dr. B did not give me the recommendation Dr. M did. Also, the doctor on the recommendation form is different from what I was told by the office. Original Post: I had an eye evaluation done for both prescription glasses and contacts. The cost for just the contact evaluation alone(my insurance does not cover that part) was $20 dollars less than if I went to Walmart and paid for both the glasses and contacts exam. Even though I have been wearing contacts for 12 years and am very familiar with my eyes, the doctor put me in contacts that were too weak for one eye and would not give me a prescription until I came back for a follow up. She also said that I would not be a good candidate for Lasik because my eyes arent that bad and that makes over correction very likely. Luckily I had a different doctor for the follow up. He noticed that one eye was a little stronger. He also disagreed with the previous doctor about Lasik. He explained that an over-correction that could not be corrected with another treatment would be because the cornea is too thin and only the Lasik doc would be able to judge that and then he sent me a referral to a Lasik specialist. To top this all off, it has been a NIGHTMARE trying to get my correct prescriptions. The receptionist could not give me my prescription on the day of the follow up because they said the doc did not update the system and he was currently with a patient and the updating itself could "take awhile". When I called to get my prescription, the emailed me the prescription given by the first doctor, the prescription that was too weak for one of my eyes. I called again and the receptionist said that there was not another prescription. I called after another week and this woman was very competent and sent me the correct prescription within a half an hour. The story does not end here. I found a pair of glasses that I like at another place and needed my eye glasses prescription. I called and whomever I spoke with told me that my contact prescription is the same as my eyeglasses prescription, it is just missing the distance between my eyes which can be measured when purchasing glasses. I tried to argue that they are not the same and gave up. I called back after another week and the woman I spoke with agreed that they are not the same and emailed me a prescription. Well, this prescription matches the prescription that the first doctor gave me for contact lenses, both eyes the same. It was also signed by the first doctor. I called again to explain that the second doctor had different measurements for each eye. She said she would have to call me back and I did not hear back from them.

If you are reading this review and cant quite make it out, maybe the Southfield Road OptimEyes location gave you my childs glasses instead of your own prescription. We went in at the end of 2016 for an exam (pleasant enough). I was told I would be called when the glasses came in. After 2 weeks and no word, I called the location to be told the glasses were already picked up. I went in and was promptly refunded the money I paid and the insurance was credited. The manager was apologetic and wanted to re-order. No way! I had no problems start to finish with the customer service. All my interactions were fine. The issue is my trust is broken for such incompetency, failure in quality control, systems and accountability. Wont be back, will not recommend.

Excellent service all the way around! My first visit, I was just looking for new glasses. The gal that helped me was nice, professional, knew what she was doing. She wasnt there when I went back, but Leanette was there, and she was outstanding! She made looking for glasses fun, really knew what she was doing, was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, she is now the manager at the Taylor store, so Southfield will miss a great colleague! When I picked my glasses up (only a week after ordering), there were a few others picking up glasses as well, but a manager stepped in to help out (maybe Josh?) and we were in and out of there in probably 20 minutes. Will definitely go back. They had an amazing selection of frames as well.

Paris is extremely rude and impatient, almost turned us around at the door once she couldnt find the coverage for my husbands eye care that is provided through his job. Once we got in the car and log onto the health care website and pulled it up we provided them with the care plan they then saw us but we continued to run into problems. Management continued to say they needed to verify but I had the plan, and all services that were coverage and who they were covered by. We will not be back to do any type of business with this institution. So unprofessional, rude and impatient and I work very hard to be patient and understand but this is ridiculous!

Staff was very friendly and helpful each time I came. Ive seen two doctors and they were wonderful. The only small issue I had was that I had to schedule a separate contact lens appointment which Ive never had to ddo in my past at any other eye physician office and Ive been going to one for over 20 years. That was an inconvenience because I was pregnant and working full time and I have children to take care of. I dont have any extra time for a whole ot he r appointment. I never received an explanation why the policy at this establishment is this way, she didnt answer my question when I asked. Otherwise, everything else was good.

I had a wonderful experience at the Southfield Henry Ford Optim eyes I had lots of smiling faces to come greet me, my mother, and my dog. I was well assisted my Shante Willsand I highly recommend optim eye service to ask for Shante Wills and she will greet you with a wonderful smile and a great attitude. They as well have a wonderful manager he as well greeted me and helped me with choosing my frames and was quite a joy to have around I recommend this optim Eyes to anyone who wears glasses and contacts to go hear you will not be disappointed!!

Horrible customer service here. Ive been to the Troy OptimEyes location previously and even though its further away for me Ill be going back there or a completely different place in the future. My eye exam was 3 weeks ago and despite me calling multiple times, every time being told someone would call me back, no one has. I still have no information as to when I will have my trial pair of contacts with my new prescription and Im running out of time to use my HSA this year to purchase contacts. Go anywhere else but here.
