Well let me tell you about my experience at Second Impressions today,, knowing its dollar days my mother and I walked in expecting to spend 70 dollars plus but that came to a quick halt when the MANAGER! YES IM SAYING MANAGER!!! Decided to publicly humiliate my mother. Ohkay lets start from the beginning. My mothers there looking for bridmaids dresses she sees the boutique is blocked off she proceeds to ask both females at the register "is it okay if I go back there?" My mother even offered to come back a different day the ladies "dont worry well watch you" so my mother proceeds to walk back there. She said she was back there less than a minute when she sees a lady borderline running at her and proceeds to point her finger in my mothers face, MY MOTHER! A GROWN WOMAN! YOU POINTED YOUR FINGER RIGHT IN HER FACE! And proceeds to say in the most condecending agressive way "The boutiques closed!" cuts my mother off so she couldnt explain she got permission "You need to get out of here!" STILL SHAKING HER FINGER IN MY MOTHERS FACE! My mother is saying in her loud voice embarrassed "Im done! I dont want to shop her!" As my moms borderline running out of the store. So here I am I come up to the register to see these two nice ladies sitting there embarrassed because they gave my mother permission (later realizing this lovely manager chewed these women out for that when I called her) So we get home, my mothers still upset because this lady did this as she said "Id expect this from Goodwill but not a small business!" So I took it upon myself to call this woman. NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING REALIZE THIS WOMEN IS THE FACE OF THE BUSINESS AND THIS IS HOW SHE ACTED! So I call, a lady answers "hello may I speak to the manager?" "This is her." "Hello are you the lady who yelled at my mother today?" "Umm, I dont believe I yelled at her." ( I was in the store I heard you yell at her, 1st lie!) Myself "I heard you yelled at her and pointed your finger in her face" "I didnt point my finger in her face!" (2nd lie!) "The boutique is closed!" I proceed to tell her how my mother got permission and she cut her off so she couldnt tell her, she proceeded to tell me she talked to the nice ladies up from telling them what they did was wrong (psh like she talked to them she was already stern on the phone with me by than) well than I said " Maam I believe the way you handled the situation was very inappropriate" she proceeded to say "WELL THATS WHAT YOU BELIEVE!" in that tone! She wasnt nice saying that! And proceeded to talk fast telling me how I was wrong so by than obviously I know this lady just yelled at my mother so Im not staying on the phone with her. I proceed to say "maam! Maam!" Because she was still talk/yelling at me. "Have a nice day! I will be leaving reviews so check them and know where this one is coming from" I got a "Whatever, have a nice day." So here I am actually have been being a customer at this store for almost three years saying, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS! You dont yell and point at your customers! And you dont make your employees feel bad for an honest mistake! So maam! Since I know youll be reading this and know its me I want to say "Please stay off the store floor, you are rude and shouldnt be around customers! Dont lie when confronted with your actions! You lost business today and honestly if youre still working there by the time we come back we will never shop there again, a business who stands behind a woman like that does not need my money. I hope the actual business owner reads this and realizes he has a bad employee working for him." But like I said! Have a great day! Your actions had a reaction hunny and heres my review I promised you. I will be posting it everywhere and if I see it taken down I will post it again. God bless

To be honest I was shocked at how I was treated by the manager of Second Impressions. My daughter and I came into the store for formal attire, noting the store has a great selection. On this day the store has having dollar days and the boutique was blocked off for the sale. I approached both cashiers in regards to dresses in the boutique that were in my daughters colors. Explained I understand the boutique was closed, but asked if I could note the size. The cashier explaining the boutique was closed for the sale. I understood I couldnt buy the dresses today due to the sale. The cashier was very nice and said I could buy, but at full price, but it was closed. I noted unfortunately I would come another day. Then the cashiers stated I could look at dresses. Thanked them very much and went through the rack into the boutique. I was checking the size of the first dress when the manager came at fast pace with her finger pointed at me and in a rude and agressive voice stating the boutique was closed and I was not to be in there. Tried to explain but was TALKED OVER that I did not just come into the boutique, but had asked mutiple employees before entering. In the same condescending tone was told they were wrong and I am to leave this area. Needless to say, shocked at the response and the service to a customer in a CHRISTIAN STORE. I understand people have bad days, BUT this customer service was poor if not grounds for reprimand in work history. My suggestion is to have inservice on customer service and anger management. Finally if you are not happy with your job, find another. Shocked publicly embarrassed repeat customer.

This is by far my favorite second hand shop in the Kzoo area. They clean up items a bit before putting them on the shelves and check all electrical items before selling them. Lots of friendly volunteer staff to help you. Weekly specials help with up to 50% off some items and lots of buy 1 get 2 free on clothing specials. Worth the time to browse through this shop. Many items are displayed in a "living room" type set-up. They have lots of furniture and womens clothing.

They have some really neat stuff. Nicer antiques than you would find at Goodwill or SA. However, their clothes arent all in great condition and they charge a generic price for clothes despite them all being in a different condition. Some stuff can be pretty pricey for being used. They have really nice mattresses.

Nice environment & very well cared for store & items. Volunteers are friendly and ever-present. Lots of books, CDs, records, office supplies, etc. However, personally, I find their large selection of stereo equipment & camera gear wildly over-priced and, for me, out-of-reach.

Clean, friendly and inventory is consistently turned over which makes repeat visits more fruitful. If you like to thrift store shop, this should be on your list.

The name reflects it. All the items inside are in good shape. They have good furniture for cheap and their selection changes pretty frequently.
