Purchased a Franklin recliner from Art Van, Holland in 2007. Material has held up fine but Ive had regular problems with the mechanism after the first few years. Mechanism is warranted for life but unfortunately, they charge to send a serviceman out. since Im handy, replacing a tension spring the first couple times was a snap and I didnt have to pay for service. As the years went by, the wood part of the platform cracked. Since I was told only the metal part was warranted, I replaced the wood part with one that I made (Im handy) Fast foward to this month. The mechanism is wearing out, I called Art Van locally and was hoping theyd just give me a new mechanism and I would install it. No good, I had to take the mechanism to Lansing (1-1/2 drive). Took it there today and as told since I "modified" (replaced a piece of wood) that it voided the warranty. Called Franklin manufacturer in Houston and they are sending out a whole new mechanism and it includes the wood platform. I have to pay shipping but dont see that as a problem What I do see as a problem is dealing with Art Van. Once I replace the platform / mechanism, this recliner will go to my sons house. Were buying a new recliner from Lazy Boy. Looks like its built better and I wont ever deal with Art Van again.

This place is absolutely beautiful on the inside. But the pushiness is by far the most annoying ever. Feels like there breathing down your crack. Following you around like youre going to pocket a couch or something. Anyway so i work 12hrs a day. I recieve a call from them saying my item is in stock. I called and explained to the woman at the front desk that some called and said you guys have my item so i was just calling back to imform you i will be there within the hour. She didnt ask my name pull up my file or nothing. I ge there go to the front desk this same woman i spoke with on the phone then said we habe the item at the warehouse in detroit not here at the store. At this point im irritated im like ok. She said it will be here next week tuesday. So now i lost an jour of sleep and have to go home get my son out the car and get ready for work. No free delivery offer for the confusion no nothing. I will never shop her again. Ashley ar talsma here i come.

HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE. My wife and her dad and myself went to purchase a mattress set and headboard. We found one we liked and asked if it was a set (including box spring and mattress) to which the sales representative replied yes, everything on the floor was a set. We checked out and her dad asked again if everything was included and they said yes. My wife gets a call saying that the delivery is confirmed but they dont have the box spring on the order. She told them multiple times that we had confirmed that it did, we should be getting it. She spoke to a male manager who was rude as hell and told her since they didnt write it up theyre not responsible for delivering it and we werent just going to give us one for free. He further said if we wanted one we could buy one. Opened a complaint through BBB and contacted corporate. All they want is to make a buck and screw customers out of money. Worst business ever.

Worst furniture store Ive ever seen!!! Dont fall for their "test" to determine which mattress is best for your body even though it is heavily advertised on television. The sleep test might be worth your time and effort but the truth is that the sales people dont understand their products well enough to match the individual with the proper mattress based on test results! The sales people are not properly trained so do not understand the products they are pushing so hard to sell you! I deeply regret the several thousand dollars that I spent there on a mattress set that is not at all what I needed for my bad back. DO NOT waste your money at this store! Look elsewhere and question the training that the sales people receive. Any place will most likely be better than Art Van in Holland!!

I purchased Furniture from art van about 15 years ago and started having problems with it braking within week of purchase, it was all junk. So my wife and I decided to give them another chance (15years later) thinking surly by now the would have better quality Furniture....WRONG!! We bought A sofa recliner 2 days after we brought it home it was in need of repair. The foot rest on the recliners mechanism is made with cheep metal that bends when you use the recliner . Not sometimes EVERYTIME you use the recliner!! They sell JUNK.... NEVER AGAIN. And yes we did buy the extended warranty on the Furniture but who wants to have someone out to do repairs once a week! You have been warned dont buy from art van

This place sucks! I ordered a nice 7 piece set of furniture and they said i would receive a call the day before of my 3 hour window. Never received a call until the delivery drivers were at my house. Was just getting out of work. My womdow was 1245 to 345 i got out of work at 215 when i tried to call back they said i had to reschedule my furniture went to somome else that orederd the same set.. total bull crap. I wouldnt reccomend anyone going through them to get furniture

Salesman are way too pushy. Tried to discuss why I was looking for a specific item to fit the decor of my home and they insist I am wrong and need something else. Dont even give you time to think or find a solution, they just want you to buy what they have and get out. I had to ask 3 times for them to tell me the price of something. Ive never purchased a product from there so I cant rate quality, but Id rather spend more somewhere else just to avoid the ripped off feeling.

Wow... one extreme to the other... usually I can get no alone time to shop and consider... but I just stopped in the remodeled Art Van in Holland, and I was in there at least 30 minutes and NOT ONE PERSON TRIED TO HELP ME!!! I even spoke to a woman at the door, "good morning"and such, making my presence known... after that... NOTHING!!! You know what that means??? NO SALE!!! :-)

Horrible. The sales person messed up our order; then we had to go through a bunch of loop holes to exchange it for the correct one because it was a special order. The sales person acted like he was doing me a favor in even exchanging stating they should charge a 25% re-stocking fee; if he wouldnt have screwed it up I wouldnt have to return it

Art van is a good place to go if you want to get ripped off and treated bad. Salesmen tell you all kinds of stories and what a good deal you get and the managers are very pushy and unfriendly. Art van allways have sales but the pices never go down it just looks good on the tag. Take my advice and take your business elsewhere
