Actually a nice store. Youd never guess it from the store front as the parking lot is tired looking and its location is at an intersection and sits back off the road. Selection inside isnt as wide as a meijer but they have all the basics youll need and then some. Rewards system helps take the sting of buying groceries

Seems like they dont take care of the store very well. Usually doesnt seem super well stocked and doesnt have a good produce selection. Seems like theyve made some staffing changes recently, so maybe they are trying to improve? Either way, its a convenient grocery store. Thats about it.

Mot a bad place, could be WAY better if Family Fare researched their community. It was WAY BETTER when it was Fulton Heights Foods. Not Spartan tries to be literal and has a spartan selection. Retail 101 know you customers sell more variety and better quality

Get ready to pay 20-40% more for the same products in a mediocre setting with limited selection and enjoy bagging it all yourself because they have half as many people working as they should. I presume they need the money more than our community needs jobs.

This Family Fare is much better than the one on Leonard and Fuller. Its still difficult to find an employee that is not at the front of the store if you have a question. I would go here instead of Meijer if I was close by and only need a couple of things

The store is always understaffed and slow. Generally pretty dirty (paint peeling, dirty floors). I wouldnt trust any of the fresh vegetable produce. This place is way over priced and has terrible selection. Just go to the nearest Meijer, trust me.

Feels like a ghetto grocery store, but that aside, it services the local college kids so theyre always in there. Plus they have a decent little craft beer and wine selection as well as typical Spartan store goods with a full deli.

Great pharmacy to work with. In and out quick. I wish this family fare offered more vegan options, like the Breton Village DW. This Family Fare only offers Earth Balance spread and soy and almond milk. Otherwise, it is convenient.

Im glad for the convenient location of this place- just around the corner from my place. Its mostly nice, but the atmosphere is a tiny bit....blah? Crowded? Fractionally dingy? And the employees often look stressed and dog-tired!

This is one of the smaller locations. That being said the layout is very well done. My only complaint is the produce i.e. vegetables are not always clearly priced. It is the cleanest of the Family Fare stores near my home.

There is never enough people working the check out lanes. I have had to wait back by the milk to check out many times. People that work there are super friendly though. Food is very fresh just plan on waiting for a while.

Best supermarket within close range to downtown. Fresh produce and serviceable meat and deli selection. Friendly staff and easy to navigate layout. Also has a great beer and wine selection for its size.

Tight place to park and pull into. Watch the pot hole in the parking lot. Service is attentive thats a plus. Customers are funny people of all sorts. Good place to get your necessities in the area.

Family fare is close so we go there for emergencies, its nice but its no Meijer. They do offer one sauce we use for stir Fry the Meijer does not have so we have to make an extra trip to go there.

Store is rank. Phones ahead to verify a product was in stock. Phone answered on fifteenth ring. Confirmed product was in stock. No luck. Very few employees working. Horrible in every aspect.

Every time Ive been here I waited in line FOREVER. the kind of waiting where you dont know if it would just be quicker to set all of your stuff down and go to a different store.

I was denied trying to return a pair of cheap sun glasses after being told all I would need is the receipt, and I had that and the tag that was on it at the time of purchase.

Produce needs variety. No fresh seafood. Limited freezer items. They do have nice customer service. Always willing to check ppl out where they typically sell money orders.

Good prices and nice people. The store is fairly easy to navigate, and the staff is very nice. Clean store and managed well. Dont forget your family fare card!

I just went vegan and they dont have too many deli options but its right by my house so ots win win . better than driving all the way to meijer or walmart

Sometimes the produce variety is limited and not always fresh or in good condition. Friendly staff. No self check out and I believe this is a good thing.

Staffing levels could be improved. Produce quality not as good as D&W. Found out Spartan sends nice to D&W and poor quality or mared to Family Fare

Locally owned by Spartan Nash. Close by only 2 blocks from home. A little pricey. But a great neighborhood grocery store with everything you need.
KR

The layout was odd, the selection was mediocre and there werent enough open checkouts. They had a nice fruit and veggie department in the back.

This is the most quirky chain grocery store I have ever been to. It still rests as my favorite, if only it didnt close at 11 pm!

Old, a bit worn down, and sometimes unprofessional staff. However, its the only decently affordable choice in the area.
JO

Produce is sub-par and prices are premium. Id only go here if you have no other way of getting to Meijers on Knapp.
JE
Jessica Schippers
Smaller neighborhood store, friendly cashiers and a good selection of products including build your own six pack.
CH
Chris Foote
Probably the worst selection of any of the GR area Family Fare stores, particularly when it comes to craft beer.
DA
Darrell Haggard
Odd layout of the store. Fresh items could be better. Shane that neighborhood doesnt have something better
CU
Curt Blakeslee
Somewhat limited selection due to its small size, but its in a great location for those living downtown!
GW

An okay place if you are just looking to pick up something youd need to add to your meal after work
TA

Usually not too busy and more centrally located for Eastown/Heritage Hills residents than Meijer
MA

Clean. I like this one better than the one on Leonard. They seem to have a better selection.

Little more expensive than the Meijer stores-- limited inventory also...
