This store is great, and the guys there are top notch. They are clearly bike enthusiasts, who can help everyone from a beginner to an expert. There are several brands to choose from, the prices are great, and they go out of their way to help find the best possible match for you. I first stopped in about a year ago when I was thinking about getting into cycling for exercise and to lose some weight. I knew almost nothing about bikes, and the choices were overwhelming. They were able to quickly judge where I was, and help me think through what I needed. I ended up getting an entry level road bike that I have been very happy with. 1 year after buying it, I had lost 40 pounds and participated in my first 100 mile ride. This summer, I decided to give mountain bikes a try, and after a lot of research, I ended up at Performance Bike again. Not only did they set me up with another great bike, but also clued me in to all of the great local places to ride! Along the way, the guys there also introduced me to clipless pedals, bibs (love them), cold weather gear, the proper way to fit a helmet, how to ride in a pace line (the Thursday evening group rides led by Scott are great), and how to perform basic bike maintenance. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. Look for Justin (who seems to know everything there is to know about bikes, accessories, clothing, repairs, etc), Joe, or Brian. You wont be disappointed. PS - the store hours are very convenient, but stop in during non-peak times to get the undivided attention of the best guys (during weekdays, or when its cold out).

I went to Performance Bicycle on Oak Valley in Ann Arbor to purchase a bike for my sons 11th birthday. A TERRIBLE MISTAKE! Upon returning to pick up the bike after the free assembly, I was refused to be allowed to leave with my purchase unless I agreed to sign a contract releasing them from all liability! Not only did they want me to sign, but they also demanded my 11 year old son, sign it as well! The manager explained this was to prevent law suits should something be wrong with the bike. After telling me it was assembled by HIS staff! The store has NO posted signs indicating a contract is necessary before the bike is released. There was no statement indicating a contract was necessary, on the receipt, nor did the salesperson eager for my $250, mention that I would not be allowed to take my purchase out of the store unless this contract, releasing them from liability, was signed. They seemed genuinely shocked that I chose a refund rather than be subjected to their contract. I do not want to do business with a company that manipulates a parent to sign away their rights or disappoint their child. I will not be returning to that store for anything!

I was looking for a good road bike for both my girlfriend and I. I come across this shop in A2. Whyll shopping for a bike the staff really didnt know alot about the bikes they sell there. All the info they were telling me was all the info that was on there price tags. When testing the bike the staff member didnt pump the tires up or adjust the seat to may body style. Had to go back in to do this. The service was very very slow. It seemed like the staff members would rather talk by the tec shop then help customers. I spent over a hour here, and by this point I was disappointed by the service. I ended up going to a different shop at Mountain Man Sports in Toledo, OH and ended up spending $3000 at this place on just one bike.

Just bought a bike from Performance Bicycle of Ann Arbor. I looked at the prices of the competition for the same bike and no store/website was within $130 of the price I got mine for. Justin, the guy who showed me around, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and gave me an honest opinion about all the bikes in the store (and some from other stores). They treat you well if you buy a bike with free tune ups and warranties. Overall a great experience.

Absolutely some of the best customer service Ive ever experienced. We bought a bicycle there and a couple weeks afterwards, a pedal broke. When we brought it in to be fixed, I expected to have to argue over the warranty, but as soon as we walked in and said there was a problem they took the bike, installed new, stronger pedals no questions asked, no money charged. Absolute a pleasure to deal with. Cannot strongly recommend this place enough.

Just had to give this store a heart-felt SHOUT OUT of thanks for the easy, no -questions- asked -exchange they did for me today. My favorite biking jackets zipper bit the dust after only 2-3 months of use. I took it in and the young man simply went over to the rack, got me a new jacket and wished me a happy day. Ahhh, if only ALL establishments backed their products as happily and easily!... Signed, A VERY satisfied customer!!!

I have been very happy with the repair center service at the Ann Arbor store. The location was just opening up, and I heard from a friend that they had great deals, so I bought a bike there. There were a few glitches getting it assembled, but Patrick went above and beyond to make it right. I just took it in to have it re-tuned, and was again impressed by the level of service hes given me. Thanks!

I was there to purchase clip on shoes and toe clips for my bike. The sales person was very helpful until a family came in to buy three bikes. Guess that was a bigger commission. He left me in the dust. I would have appreciated if he had come back to let me know it would be a bit or had asked someone else to help me. Waited around for another 20 minutes and left.

Excellent service!! Great customer care! Special shout out to Mark our technician! We brought in an older bike with crazy tires .. Mark stopped what he was working on and helped me find the tires I needed and installed them right there... It was not easy but he smiled the whole time. Thank you to everyone there! We will definitely be back

Bought my Fuji bike from here 2 years ago and have almost 2,000 miles on it and it runs wonderful! The staff here is friendly and by far the nicest in town. These guys are knowledgeable and the prices are great! No where else in town I would go to buy a bike or for reasonably priced quality products.

I had a great experience getting my biked fitted by Kendall. I own a road bike by Fuji and I went in to the shop just before a big ride. K made several adjustments on the bike (handlebars, seat height, etc.) as well as checked my posture and pedal style and I think it really made a difference.
