As a book-lover, I so wish I had better things to say about Dawn Treader! Alas, while I love the books they offer, I have many gripes about this place. Here are the big five: 1. The selection is deceiving. This place is so packed with books its claustrophobic (and an actual fire hazard... how theyre passing city inspections, I do not know). Nonetheless, whenever I go in to find a specific book they do not have it. Whether fiction or poetry or sci fi or science, they always seem to have everything aside from the book I want. There is also no online database patrons can search before coming in, and when Ive called to ask about a certain book the staff has been very unhelpful. 2. Theyre expensive! You pick up this ratty old copy of a book and think, "Awesome! This cant be more than 50 cents." And then its $7. 3. The expensiveness of the books is upsetting when you go to sell books to them and you see how little theyre paying for the books theyre then selling for quite a bit. For example, a few years ago I brought in a box of popular books in gently used condition and was offered something like 25 cents for most of them. Some of the books I offered were on their shelves in identical condition being sold for closer to $10. So it feels like they rip people off when places like Powells will give you a much fairer price. 4. They fight you on paying with a credit card. 5. As mentioned briefly above, I tend to find the staff unhelpful, if not rude. So why even give them two stars? Its a store FULL of books. Even with everything Ive said above, its still a store full of books.

This is like a book mecca. Its kind of snuck in there on East Liberty but they often have some extremely affordable books on stands outside so that helps to find it. They have the most incredible selection Ive ever seen at a used book store. And dont go in expecting just older books! They have something for everyone. I never walk out with less than the one I was looking for and another 2 or 3 or 10. The owner is a treat to talk to as well, if you have the opportunity

Part adventure, part shopping, part surprise at every turn. This labyrinthine twisting organized chaos called a used book store is a true gem in downtown Ann Arbor. Such a vast quantity and breadth of selection a single review would be unable to do it justice. Want to just get lost for an hour or so and be surprised with every next isle you turn down? Dawn Treader is a fun place to unplug and get back to old school books.

“I love Yesstyle because they have the best Asian fashion clothes ever!! As a golden member, I have 10% off of everything in Yesstyle. The only con Yesstyle has is that the shipping period usually takes 3 to 4 weeks, but this is expected from the international price and shipping. I strongly recommend this online shopping website if you want cheap and GOOD looking clothes and dont mind the wait on orders.”

This is probably one of my favorite stores. The walls are full of fantastic works in great variety, and the store has always had that wonderful book smell. The staff here is great, very friendly, and the prices are great as well. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, and cozy. Dawn treader book shop has been my go to book store for years.

I always go in here thinking Ill just pick up one or two books, and end up walking out with four, or seven. They have an amazing collection of sci-fi/fantasy in the little room at the far back of the store. Im pretty sure they have more stuff stacked up back there than some bookstores dedicated to sci-fi and fantasy.

This place is a gold mine. Staff is very helpful and extremely friendly. The variety in this place is absolutely crazy. Ive found so many treasures in here. Definitely recommend this place. If youd like it all to yourself Id suggest going in during the weekdays. The weekends are usually quite busy.

Kicked us out 5 minutes before close after saying we could come in, and were extremely rude when we asked why theyre kicking us out before close time. Ive shopped here many times and they dont seem to care about how they treat their customers. Didnt even explain why, just said theyre closing.

OMG I love this place! Books, books and more books, at really great prices too. We try to stop in every time we are in town. Workers get a kick out of my excitement and check-ins on social media platforms (most of the time commenting "hey you checked in" when I check out.

Huge selection, excellent prices, and a very friendly staff. It is larger on the inside and there literally is a map to help you find things. Their scifi and fantasy section is HUGE! Prepare to get cozy its tall walls of books including some on the floor when stock is high.

Awesome place, if you have a chance to visit I highly suggest you do so! They can find anything. Spend an hour just wandering around looking the different artifacts throughout the store. Its been there for over 40 years, there is some really cool stuff.

Dont be deceived by the tiny storefront... this place is a book lovers dream! I go in looking for one or two titles, and end up walking out with a bag full. They also have tons of signed books and antique books, and usually all at great prices.

Their selection is about 2x as good as any used book store Ive ever been to... however, their prices are a bit absurd; more expensive than buying from Amazon by 2-3x. $15 for a ratty old copy (of a popular book) is a bit steep.

I went in today for the first time. I wish I could have stayed longer. The books that I picked up were in good condition and at a great price. The owner was very friendly. Ill be back later this week!

Dawn trader had been my go-to for used and antique books. It is a very pleasant homey little shop that appears small at first glance, but is deep with a wealth of literature in all categories.

This place looked so tiny on the outside but then I kept walking and it seemed like the aisles never ended! So many cool used books. Plus the place is decorated with nerdy stuff.

If you love anything about books, even if youre not actually in the mood to read one at the moment, you need to visit this place. Its just one of the coolest places there is.

Used books and some rare oddities. Not much in the way of customer service, but the Dawn Treader is more about the adventure of finding a book and getting lost to do it.

Lots of options here and a nice vibe from the shop. Things can be a little disorganized and hard to find at times, but the staff are kind and willing to help.

This place is Narnia. You step into a quiet little shop front, lose yourself among books and wander ever further. And the prices are even better.

Fantastic, always helpful, a huge trove of books, willing to share their knowledge. They will even help you get books safely from the Internet.
