I had a great experience here. I am (extremely) new to sewing and have generally been disappointed at the lack of places to find fabrics (JoAnn seems to have the monopoly on the market). I was pleasantly surprised to find this store and the refreshing selection they had after feeling like I kept looking at the same things over and over. The fabrics are unique and PLENTY to choose from! My only issue was that they dont have a variety in terms of fabric types - it is pretty much only quilting cottons, so you will not find a selection of fashion knits or home decor fabrics here.

The store recently changed its name to Ann Arbor Sewing Center, but its still the same fabulous place. Well organized, excellent selection of high-quality quilting fabrics and supplies, and a wide variety of top-of-the-line sewing machines and accessories. Fabric price is a little higher than some quilt shops, but I will always shop where customer service is superior. This is my favorite quilt shop, even though there are four shops much closer to my home. Also, dont forget to check out the Fairy Door near the cash register!

I go to this store for quilting fabric and thread. They have a good selection of premium cotton fabrics. The people there are really nice, to boot! They also sell sewing machines and they have quilting lessons. FYI: As of 3/9/2008. Google maps is not showing the location of this shop correctly. It is only a few miles outside of Ann Arbor. It is on Jackson Rd, just before Zeeb, on the south side of the street.

A well organized, huge selection of high quality quilting fabric. They also have a great turnaround time on refreshing the fabric collections. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are always new quilts and projects hanging up to drool over. Plus their notions section is beautiful. Highly recommend!

Wonderful staff, incredibly helpful. I got a used, entry level machine, it comes with free lesson on how to use it and the basics of sewing, as well as a year of parts and labor! I strongly recommend them for all your sewing and quilting needs!

Really nice people work there. And the selection of quilting fabrics is the best in the area. Wonderful range of quality cottons and batiks, and some truly fun quilts on the walls too. We wont mention the tempting quilting books.....

Simply the best sewing store in Ann Arbor! Totally fabulous fabric selection, very knowledgeable staff, a large selection of sewing machines/sergers, and excellent sewing machine service. Quick turn around time, too!
