I went to 6 different dealerships trying to buy a car by the end of the year. I hate car salesmen. They were particularly bad and careless at every other dealership I went to. Javier, at Toyota of Watertown, they gave me the space I requested. Let me do my thing. Let me drive the cars I wanted without having to wait 40 minutes for them to get keys. They were great. Another thing about Javier... Hes great because he is unconventional. He is quiet, he listens, thinks before he responds, and you never really know what hes thinking. Hes a great salesman because hes not fake. Hes incredibly genuine. There is no pressure. He also was incredibly thorough. Made sure my fancy car stuff was all set up to my phone and taught me what everything did and how it worked. He even texted me a month later after the first snowstorm to see if I liked how my car handled in the snow. Hes different. Which is what makes him great. Anyways, I was determined to get another Toyota Prius. I had mine 7 1/2 years, put 145,000 miles on it. I ended up purchasing a Prius V... Drove it off the lot around 3:30 and at 5 Oclock I was nearly in tears knowing I made the wrong decision. Its the winter, I dont do the driving I used to do, and I really needed something bigger and safer and I didnt feel that in the Prius V. I took a chance and called the dealership and asked if I could come back and get a Rav 4. I spoke to Alex Kazan and he told me to "come right back in" and it was totally fine. Ted Karakostas was great, too. Spent a great deal of time with me on numbers and financing and I was there way after they should have gone home because I had to leave the next morning to a work trip out of the country. I was shocked! They let me return a car I drove off the lot and still let me negotiate the price down on the Rav 4. (I cant believe I had the nerve). They were so good to me. So kind. Didnt make me feel terrible and were incredibly accommodating. I was taught that if you want a great deal than go to a bigger dealership. That couldnt have been more false. I got a way better deal on my trade in and incentives than I did at Prime, Boch, Acton, herb chambers, Bernardi and Quirk. I was completely floored. I did my homework and got really lucky with Watertown. Bottom line, buying a car sucks. I bought two cars in one day and these guys were incredibly kind and good to me regardless of how big of a jerk I was when we were haggling. Theyre good people and I would buy a car there in a heartbeat. In other news, I have never once written a Yelp review, but I will for them because they certainly earned it.

Update 5/18: Updated from 1 to 4 stars. Mike Mason, the manager of Toyota Watertown, called me following this review and did a fantastic job in rectifying the prior lack of service. Apparently he was not on duty the day of our appt, and as the saying goes "when the cats away the mice come out to play". I appreciate his professionalism and diligence in tracking customer impressions, ascertaining the facts, honestly recognizing the errors, and providing a prompt plan of corrective action. In our case, he oversaw a full & proper service appt checking up on all our concerns, he also drove the car himself to insure all issues were resolved, before returning it to us. Since the car had to be held in service overnight a free loaner was provided (per ToyotaCare terms), and he went the extra mile by accomodating our schedule through the use of a valet for the car exchange once service was complete. The complimentary wash & detailing was a nice touch as well, as a final thank you recognizing our patronage. However, I am most satisfied by his customer service managerial skills and the detailed attention to a better auto service appt, which has translated into resolution of the concerning mechanical symptoms of the car following our long trip. Thank you Mike! Terrible first impression! My wife and I just moved to Boston from San Antonio (where we had great Toyota Service). At this Watertown location, we were greeted by condescending staff who seemed inattentive to our concerns. Additionally, they lied about the status of our service, claiming the vehicle was in the garage being inspected, when in fact it had been parked outside for the entire 2h we had been waiting. (This was a scheduled appt, which they had estimated to take 1.5h upon arrival). When I pointed to our vehicle still sitting on the lot untouched, our rep didnt so much as apologize for misstating the facts; instead he had the gall to return 10minutres later and announce service was complete. They literally made us wait 2hr, then rushed out and did the vehicle inspection in < 10 mins when I asked for an update, after lying about having already begun "some time ago". Ended the visit with the generic inspection sheet riddled with OK checkmarks and zero notes or verbal explanation. Highly disappointed & wont be returning.

My husband and I visited Toyota of Watertown on a Saturday last month. It was our last stop after a stressful day looking for a car. We thought it was going to be a quick stop until we met Elkin Pereanez our sales person. Right from the beginning Elkin made us feel very comfortable with no pressure. He was very helpful, professional, informative and courteous. Elkin took the time to show us various pre-owned vehicles at their two locations in Watertown. Finally, Elkin found us a great 2009 Toyota Camry LE with low millage. He and his manager Mr. Nick Fonda took my old Ford Taurus as a trade in and gave us a good deal. The people at Toyota of Watertown (sales, finance, and service) were very professional and made us feel very comfortable and confident during this car buying experience. We highly recommend Toyota of Watertown for your next car purchase. ..................................................................................................................................... Barbara Diaz............................................................................................................................... .................................................................................................................................................................................... . It has been three weeks since my wife and I purchased a ‘09 Toyota Camry LE in Toyota of Watertown. When our second car, an old ’94 Toyota started giving us more problems we decided to go back to Toyota of Watertown to see Elkin Pereanez our sales person. Because of the great service and attention we received from Elkin the first time we asked for his help in finding a good replacement for the old Toyota and he did. We were very pleased with the selection. Elkin again worked with his Manager Mr. Fondas a good deal for trading in the old Toyota. So after three weeks we ended with another Toyota Camry. This is what great service and attention to people’s car needs provides – satisfied customers coming back to purchase another car. ....................................................................................................................................................................... I recently purchased my first car from Toyota of Watertown, specifically a 2006 Toyota RAV4. As a recent college graduate and with it being my first time purchasing a car I was feeling the stress and pressure of making the right choice. I was driving my 96 Honda Accord for seven years and continued to push out the date in purchasing a new car. I needed a car that I could not only afford, but a car that I loved so I would be happy and safe driving it for another seven years. With my parents doing a good amount of research we decided to make a "quick" stop by Toyota of Watertown to simply look at a couple cars. A couple of weeks before my parents took me to look at new cars my Dad made a stop at Toyota of Watertown where he was approached by sales rep, EDWIN. EDWIN was extremely helpful in providing my Dad more than enough information pertaining to a few cars on sale. EDWIN was so helpful that my Dad made the decision that this is where I would purchase my new car. Please keep in mind that I am a recent college grad battling the expenses of a post grad life. I arrived at Toyota of Watertown very anxious until we sat down with EDWIN. I cannot sress enough how extremely helpful EDWIN was in providing my family and I all the information we needed, Within minutes I no longer felt anxious and made the decision on the spot to purchase the 2006 RAV 4. EDWIN was VERY helpful in making me feeling comfortable and confident with my big purchase. I would strongly recomment EDWIN if you need any help or information for your next car purchase. EDWIN was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. After my purchase I have spoken with EDWIN multiple times. He continues to reach out to me to make sure I am happy with my purchase. With my personality I never thought I would purchase my next car on the spot, but thanks to EDWIN and the management team I am SO HAPPY with the car and price! Everytime I walk out to my car I have a huge smile on my face. EDWIN THANK YOU for all your hard work! My family and I cant thank you enough! Again, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND EDWIN at Toyota of Watertown to help you in your next car purchase!
