We do our normal household food shopping here... and that will be the extent of it. My wife and I, on occasion, will get a few things from the bakery (muffins, donuts, pastries) for breakfast on the weekend. This past weekend, we picked up a few muffins... and will not be getting anything from the bakery dept. ever again. There was a human finger nail (from either someones thumb or I hate to even think of it... their big toe) in one of the muffins. I would definitely stay away from the bakery department... and any of the other prepared foods departments.

Its an okay market to shop at. I would recommend the Big Y on cooley street instead. I dont understand why shop n shops markets have such a strong seafood smell, smells so strong to the point where you can smell it within other areas of the market. When I go to Big Y I dont smell a strong seafood smell. Shop n shop really needs to change that since it makes me not want to buy any seafood from your markets.

Good selection, great help at the deli. Prices a bit high but good deals make up for it like four 12 packs of soda for $11.00. I did the self check out and can never get through without needing help from an employee. It will pick a random item and needs an employees approval. Sometimes just easier to go through a regular line. All in all a nice store.

At 8 AM on a Thursday morning, there was 1 cashier, no baggers, no self check out open and customer service center was closed until 9 AM. This is totally unprofessional and would never happen at Big Y.
