I would have to STRONGLY disagree with Saras review. Ive shopped here several times since moving nearby in 2005. Yes, sometimes I have a hard time finding something and there are other stores that seem to be laid out more intuitively. However, each and every time I need help finding something, the staff has bent over backwards trying to help me find it, even dropping what they were doing and walking down the isles with me on the hunt. They always know which isle to go to and have never complained. If it wasnt their area of expertise, they found the person I needed to talk to and sent him/her my way. Another perfect example (and why I ended up writing this review)... I was looking online today for the phone number of stores nearby where I might be able to find some free boxes. Im getting ready to put my home on the market and I need to "de-clutter" for showings, as my Realtor calls it... so I dont need too many boxes. I called this Stop & Shop, and they transferred me to produce where I spoke with a guy named Wilfred (thanks by the way -- in case you read this). He said "give me half an hour and Ill unpack some produce so you can have the boxes." Im thinking probably 2 or 3 boxes. I get there and he had over a dozen boxes waiting for me. NOT ONLY THAT, but he carried them and loaded them into my car! Man, did I wish I had a few bucks on me for that one. I have honestly been so impressed with their help over the past two years that when I read Saras review, I just had to comment. As far as checking an ID for credit card purchases... THANK GOD!! Its about time someone does. I write "check ID" on the back of all my cards and guess how many actually do. I dont care if its a $0.50 pack of gum or a wild shopping spree... its worth the two seconds to have to pop out an ID when your credit is on the line. If you dont have the time to do so, then you ought to reconsider your busy lifestyle.

The only super market 5 minutes or less away from my home and its the worst place to shop at. Not because of the food but more the workers that are supposed to be "friendly and helpful service" as they clearly state in their motto. Recently I went to the florist area to purchase some balloons and other things that I had and their was nobody at the florist area to attend me and my mother. We waited a while and found that no one was paying attention to us. So my mom saw a lady walking and my mom called her and she told us to wait. 10 minutes went by when my mom said she would catch her a customer service. To come to see that she was chit chatting stupid things with the other worker and my mom angrily told her that we needed assistance with some balloons. She immediately said, "What, you want some balloons" in a surprised tone. My mother answered YES, and I want to pay for other stuff as well. She then said, "Oh my God." As if we were crazy or something. After that while thing happened she started inflating the balloons and asked if I wanted clips for the balloons or bunched together without clips. My mom asked how much the clips were and the lady angrily said, "What do you mean? the clips cost nothing." Well, in the first place she asked if we wanted them or not so my first reaction would have been do they cost anything? I mean this lady was overall very rude and trying to take out her anger on us, the customers. I find that very unfriendly and very unhelpful. Very bad place overall the associates are always rude and think negatively of their customers. But its the only market closest to my home so I find myself having to buy my weekly food here...(sadly.)

I have just stopped going to this grocery store. Its conveniently located right on my way home from work off I-93, but its always understaffed and the customer service is awful. The store is laid out badly, so many products are not in the aisles you would expect them to be in. Its virtually impossible to find any employee to ask for help finding an item, and those that I have found are obviously annoyed to be asked and are not very knowledgeable. The store has just instituted a new policy that requires customers to show photo ID when paying with credit card. They made me show ID for a $13 purchase. When I called the customer service helpline they said it was a mistake and that they should only be requesting IDs for large orders over $100. However, next time I went and was again asked for an ID for a $35 order. I asked to talk the manager and he insisted they were checking IDs for all orders and if I didnt like it I didnt have to buy my food there. Since they obviously dont care about their customers and dont want my business I am now doing my shopping at the nearby Shaws Supermarket.

This store is way overpriced and a rip off ! Its like a convenience store supermarket , The only reason I went was because of convenience ... The dirty people in the store was disgusting ... using their EBT cards and Saw them Out in the parking lot driving a brand new car ... i felt likr telling them to buy extra soap and learn how to shower ! Not be going back to this store ! Too bad I cant show you -5 stars!!!

I use this Stop & Shop for a considerable amount of party platter business. I love that they have curbside pickup service available. Although some basics may be more expensive via curbside pickup, pricing is decent for essentials that I need for meetings. The service is good, and it is fast enough to go through the self checkouts if the staffed lanes are busy.

Cashiers are the biggest assholes here (slow, unhelpful and miserable). Most of the time theyre short staffed and youll end up bagging most of your groceries. Bags have no handles and break easily. Do yourself a favor...buy less then 20 items and use self checkout. Selection and prices are ok. As someone else stated, Market Basket IS better in every way.

Stop n shop your usual grocery store, covers your basic. The works have no ideas where anything is. If you ask and they dont know then, theyll tell you the product is discontinued. You will find it later in the store in a random place. Although it is super convenient and the saving deals are nice, add some coupons and you got a good deal
