Very happy with the new Big Y that replaced Hannafords! The selection is much more varied, especially in the sushi section, those big birds in the hot chix section are amazing ...and if you use your gold coin they are only $5.99! even the regular size chickens are meatier and better than Hannafords....hannafords cooked chickens were the scrawniest Ive ever seen....you were lucky to serve one person with them. Love that most of the old employees are still around (such nice people!)and also that a couple of the grumpy ones are gone, sorry but there were a couple of people that werent happy to be there and showed it...Prices are lower for most things and I spend less and get more! My only complaints are that there are never enough country kitchen plain donuts or Thomass corn toasties...usually the shelf is empty...also no more Portuguese bread in the bakery.

Miss Hannafords Norwell Hannafords Norwell worked with the Greater Boston Good Bank endorsing the Food Across America initiative. Basically, instead of throwing away food that is still good but may not be sellable that food is donated to local food pantrys. Hannafords, awesome, so many families had that extra meal on the table they would never had if not for their donations. When Big Y took over they followed the Food Across America for 3 weeks. Now they donate, just not to the communitys that support their store. All I can say is when Hannafords left Norwell and Big Y moved in, they took a lot of meals away from families in need. I cannot support a food chain who would rather throw decent food away leaving individuals and families hungry.

Ever since big Y took over Hannafords the prices have been higher. The quality of the strawberrys they are selling are aweful. They dont have many big y brands to buy to cut costs. The bakery section has lost its value of good quality and quantity of baked goods. The silver savings reward card is a joke! They make you feel as though yourre saving money but the prices are higher anyway. We will not be shopping here any longer. Our grocery bill is too high everytime on the same products we used to buy from Hannafords. Which is a shame as we loved to shop here when it was hannaford and knew some of the employees.

This place use to be HANNAFORDS. yes produce prices are higher now that its the BIG Y, but the only thing i buy here is sushi on my lunch break. Jack makes it fresh daily. Wednesday is "sushi wednesday" $5 specials Every time you spend $500 you get a gold coin. See Dave if you have any questions or issues. No lobster rolls in the seafood department. Their clam chowder is very good and you get $3 off with a gold coin.

Ever since Big Y has taken over Hannafords the produce selection has been horrible. All the vegetables & fruits are borderline rotten when you buy them. The Coin system is a joke.. spend $500 to get $1.50 off (1) loaf of bread.. Prices are higher than Hannafords were & the products are poorer. I miss Hannafords & now shop either at Whole Foods or Market Basket mainly over the rotting produce.

Unless you go there early in the day the lines are usually long. The main aisles are filled with displays so instead of being able to flow freely down the aisles you get stuck if people decide to stop next to one of the displays. Plus the prices pretty much line up with every other store now so theyre no bargain

The lines are outrageous!!! Ever since they switched from Hannafords they refuse to open the self check out and they dont staff enough cashiers, ever....I dont know if the new company is too cheap or management had become incompetent on the change over.

Prices higher with big y. Produce has been terrible. Meat and fish a little better. Bulk coffee runs out and remains empty for weeks. Poor stocking and inventory control. Hi
