This store has everything . excellent selection of produce at great prices and its quality. Market Basket produce goes rotten after one day. The chocolate chunk cookies are better than any store ever. MB doesnt even compare with the thin wafers they sell. Muffins are good all the way to the bottom. Excellent bakery. Deli is top notch, yes pricey but soooo worth it. Meat, excellent and it tastes and cooks great. They always put coupons on the meat and its not bad meat or gross looking, just normal but with a coupon. Every employee there is happy ,smiling, and saying hello. At MB, not one hello until you get to the inexperienced cashier. managers at MB put their head down when customers walk by. Dairy At Hannaford is cheaper by far than M B. And always put in the right spots. At M B I have to tell them that this is in the spot of what I want. Do you have it? Duh. I dont know. Can you check? No. Really? At Hannaford, if you ask for anything, they will bend over back wards for you. Prices are awesome there. I have no clue why people shop at MB. Its dirty and they dont clean the bathrooms. Produce dept has no clue and their prices dont match their signs and you cannot get proper help. Hannaford is devoted to customer service. And one manager even sings and passes out coupons its great

Really disappointed with this place. I went in, did all my food shopping for the week and returned home. Spent $166, which is a bit more than I usually spend elsewhere. The next day, I cook dinner, go to make a salad, and the lettuce was already bad (it was a container of 50/50 blend). It happens, and probably my own fault for not looking at the expiration label, though it said sell by Apr 6th (it was the 3rd.) Then, the next day, I go to use the strawberries I bought. Mold already growing, despite keeping them in the fridge. Then this morning, 5 days after purchase, the Daves Killer Bread I bought already has mold forming as well. I live in a clean, well maintained luxury condo with a static temperature set at 77. All items were kept in the packaging and stored properly. I feel like I just wasted my money. I have never had this happen any of the times Ive gone to market basket or whole foods. I will be sticking to their chains from now on.

I tend to be a MarketBasket (MB) customer for the most part, and still am because its closer and cheaper overall. The prices here arent astronomically more than MB, and in some cases are the same or cheaper. Any comparisons of meat and produce would be very subjective, but theyre bacon selection is better than MB (again subjective, but they have Applewood =). The hours are better (longer anyway) than MB as well. Most of the time, I find myself in Hannaford because MB is closed, and I have to drive a little further away.

Love it. Summer salads are real good. Not too vinegar-y. White American cheese is good as well as other cold cuts. Roast beef is real good. I love the bakery. Clean. No clerks restocking while I am shopping. Ive been shopping there steady for about 2 years, now. They like to do local business which I really like. Try their carrots - they are real good. Also, USDA beef, which I like a lot. If the prices are higher, its well worth it. 08/09/2017 - I posted this months ago and I am still very happy there.

Great food; great service. People do say that this store is significantly higher than the grocery store across the street, but there are caveats. Most of it centers around the competitor more heavily promoting their processed store brand foods. The store brand is better here, such as theres a natural line of store brand ice cream, which is helpful these days as Breyers isnt even natural for most of their selection these days.

Haha at the other reviewers. It is pretty simple when you see two grocery stores right next to each other and one has huge lines and the other does not. The parking lot to this store is almost always empty. Comparing a normal basket of groceries, the stuff I normally buy, and it costs 35% more at Hannaford. What could they possibly do in there to justify my food bill 35% higher? In my opinion nothing.

A pleasant shopping experience. Rarely as crowded as Wal-Mart. Wide selection of groceries and all the usual amenities like a bakery. Prices, though not always as cheap as Market Basket, are still reasonable. And its more fun to shop there than at either Market Basket or Wal-Mart. The older self-service scanners were terrible, but they were recently replaced by newer models that work more reliably.

This is a decent grocery store. A little more expensive than market basket but not as bad as whole foods. They have a great all natural organic section and offer a good amount of vegan foods. One of the biggest positives to hannafords is youre in and out and dont have to worry about bumping into stupid people - its empty.

When ever I need something special for dinner, dessert or fresh produce I shop at Hannafords. In the last 3 months alone I have special ordered fresh turkey and lbs of lobster meat again fresh. Typically when I order it is available for pickup the next day. Do yourself a favor and at least try Hannafords

They have a free DC Fast Charging station! Which is nice except when some jerk doesnt know how to park. Then you spend the whole shopping time stressing that they are going to hit your car with their door when they leave.
